Stories

The earliest stories are available as single or multiple web pages that are set up so they are easy to read on the screen. To print a story, click the button at the bottom of each story to go to a different view. The newest stories are available as Adobe Acrobat pdf files (a complete story in one file).

You will notice, quickly, a few things about the world I create. The women are smart, there is no jealousy, and, no matter how much sex, there is no pregnancy. My characters are color blind so that different races and ethnicities are not noted. Not all the characters are WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant).

Cage Girl
Andy is a successful small businessman, has a great grandkid. And a secret -- the dungeon in his basement. Liz is 16, traumatized, and finds safety where's she's most vulnerable, in Andy's basement, in a cage. Go to the Cage Girl page which has more information and a link to this novelette. [2013]

Tony's Girl
Tony's Girl is about what happens when two men meet in a bar and a pretty girl joins them. One of the men is a talker and he has ideas. The other mostly just watches. Go to the Tony's Girl page with more information a link to this short story. [2009]

Walking the Dog
Jasper's in love with Tracie and Tracie's in love with Jasper but the chasm of their ages separates them and Jasper must adjust in some way to being without her. Of course life is never so simple in high school. This is the story of people living in a special place and while there is sex in this novelette, the story doesn't drip with sex. 1964
My first stories centered around a character named Chastity (nicknamed Cee). Chastity is seventeen, an extremely intelligent woman, still in high school in midwest USA in 1964.

I wrote my first story with particular themes and characters in mind. When I was done I realized my main character sounded like a fool and the plot was dumb. My next two stories, The Frat Boys and Chastity’s Map of Lust, attempt to let Chastity tell her own story — to let her find her own voice. More stories followed. I believe it is more important to describe relationships and situations than dwell on graphic sex. Some of the stories don’t have any sex at all. Oh well.

These stories are arranged in a chronological series, taking place between spring and autumn of 1964.

• Chastity’s Map of Lust “Are you sure you’re just seventeen? At times you remind me of those women in the Bible I heard about in church when I was a kid, you know, those painted ones.” -- 1964/map_lust.html

• The Art Party I couldn’t see a thing in the dark; light on skin, flashing pie pans. “I have a room here, my home away from home.” She let her dress drop. “I’ll show you in a bit.” -- 1964/art_party.html

• The Story “I did a thing then. After sex with a guy I would squirrel away an article of clothing nearby. After a busy day it was quite an adventure to backtrack, to find my clothes.” -- 1964/the_story.html
