War Stories 4

Anton woke with a start, his only memories from the day before were finding Cassandra and falling asleep with two lesbians. That was the bit he didn’t have a problem with. He tried to get up but was restrained by a firm arm across his neck.

“You’re not going anywhere mister,” said a voice above him. Anton opened his eyes to see a man with awful facial hair and a scared face. The man in front of Anton said something to one of his comrades who then rushed off. “So you’re the legendary Anton are you? Well looks as if you have been caught in a bad position. Holly and Kath were wrapped around each other and sleeping soundly.

“Who in God’s name are you?” Anton said wearily. “I’ve had enough of your type, all pretentious and cocky.” Anton rubbed his foot against Kath’s. The reaction was instant. The foot flew up into the man’s face and Kath sat bolt upright causing Holly to fall off the bed.

“What the fuck was that?” Holly yelled as the man collapsed.

“That my darling is called a natural reaction. He just knows where to tickle to get any of my limbs to move how he wants,” said Kath looking toward Anton, ignoring the crying man on the floor. “It’s like being a puppet,” she sighed. Anton stood up and walked up to bloody man on the floor with a broken nose.

“You really are the most arrogant cock I’ve ever laid my eyes on.” He walked back to the bed, took his belt from a bed post, removed the pistol from it’s holster and blew the man’s brain across the floor.

“I hope we get to kill something soon?” Holly said. She stood up and took her own belt from the bed and walked over to Anton. “Will you be alright here honey?”

“Hell no!” Kath reached under the bed and took a set of clothes out and put them on quickly.

As the trio walked out of the bunker, two men turned to face them just as their faces ceased to exist. Anton stepped over a body and blew another man’s head off. He yawned slowly. Kath looked across at Holly and smiled.

“Oi if you girls might stop moon eyeing each other and get on shooting, this it would be of great convenience!”

“God that man can be a right arse when it gets to working,” Holly said sighing.

“Tell me about it. I had to live with him for a year.” They moped after Anton sullenly.

As Anton seemingly strolled through the trenches shooting every few seconds as someone got in his way. Holly and Kath dropped off his trail and sat next to each other and ate a picnic that they picked up as they passed the deserted mess. They ate for about three minutes later they had lost interest in eating and began kissing.

“I thought you were meant to be working?” Anton interrupted with his hands on his hips.

“We are working,” said the very muffled voice of Holly.

“Working each other’s mouths does not count,” Anton sighed slowly. He walked off with his hands in his pockets and left the girls to run their hands over each other. As he turned into the mess he heard some moaning. He sighed again and munched on an apple.

At about three o’clock another rain of artillery fire sent mud flying across the fields. “Did you find any bodies, of the other girls I mean?”

“No, I think they vacated before the raid. Shame really I quite miss the jabbering,” Anton said staring at the top of his skull.

“I want to know where they went. It’s very rude to leave us like that and not leave a note,” Kath said in feigned outrage.

“Wouldn’t that be a bit conspicuous?” Holly said putting her head to one side.

“To be quite honest, I’m bored out of my skull. I want to go to sleep without waking up to find someone’s arm on my throat,” Anton said wearily and sagging forward.

“I could say the same for being thrown out of bed in the morning,” Holly gowned.”

“This day has been quite packed. I just hope tough’s bloody artillery will stop firing for ten minutes!” they all collapsed on the table and drifted off to sleep.
