The Virago Blue Challenge was organized between February and March, 2002. It was inspired by Baen's "Chicks in Chainmail" series of anthologies, and was named after ASSD's resident "chick in chainmail" Virago Blue.

The Challenge's rules were quite simple, anyone who wished to enter just had to write a sex story with a woman/girl wearing some kind of armor in it.
