What is the "Iron Writer?"

"Iron Writer" is a simple contest inspired by the television show "Iron Chef". In "Iron Chef", two chefs are given a common ingredient, and expected to create full course meals using this secret ingredient. The two meals are then tested and judged by four impartial judges. It's a show dedicated to the love of food.

Iron Writer is dedicated to the love of erotic writing in much the same way. Every three weeks, two writers are chosen from the list of applicants. The writers will be chosen at whim, sometimes even resorting to a Magic 8-Ball. Also, reading the profiles writers submit just beg for certain matches to be made. In other words, if your application details your interests and strengths, then you'll be more likely to be chosen .

Once the two writers are chosen, they will be given a mystery subject. This subject can be anything from a character they have to use, to a specific sexual act. The subjects are geared to be something the writers have either never done, or something that tickles my fancy. Either way, the writers have to use the mystery subject in their story.

Two weeks after the subject is given, the story is due from the writers. The stories are stripped of the author's names, and given to the four mystery judges. The judges respond by merely telling me which story they liked better. That's it. The mystery judges are such a mystery they don't know each other. In fact, their names will never be mentioned. The judges will also be changed with every contest to avoid patterns. The judges are kept a secret to avoid the egos encountered with Celeste's "guest reviewers". There is no pay for being a judge, and no fame will be gained by being one. No negative comments, no butt-kissing praise, and no personal attacks will be possible with this system. The judges will be participating for the same reason I am - A love of erotic stories.

The mystery judges have the weekend to come up with a decision. If I don't receive a response from a judge in time, I'll resort to backup judges. Please don't make me do that. The backup judges are a surly bunch.

I'll then announce the winner, and give permission for the writers to post their stories themselves. With luck, the stories and the contest result will create discussion, or at least fan mail for the writers involved.
