A World Apart
Chapter 07: It’s not a Date

In Eden in the town of Ralion Nathan walks into one of the many inns.  Sitting at a table drinking a glass of water is Elwyn.

Nathan walks over to her and smiles and waves.  “Hey”

Elwyn looks up at him startled with wide eyes.  “Is it that late already?”

“Relax, I got here a little early”

Elwyn looks at him then leans to the side looking behind him.  “Where’s Jess and Elisha?”

“Jess had some school work to tend to and Elisha decided to help her out then get in a little sword practice”

“So, I guess it’s just you and me then?”

Nathan smiles and nods.  “Don’t worry they’ll be here tomorrow.  You want to go for a walk?”

Elwyn stands up with a smile.  “Why don’t I teleport us over to the river between here and Salandee?”

“Sounds nice”

Elwyn smiles and motions her hands.  A few moments later the two of them arrive by the river.  Around them the large trees blow gently in the breeze while birds sing happily.  The sound of the river echoes around them as the crystal clear water flows slowly to the south.

Elwyn steps forward as she gazes around.  “This place is so nice”

Nathan steps forward so he’s beside her and looks around himself.  “Yeah, it’s beautiful”

The two of them walk slowly over to the river and sit down by the bank to watch the running water.  Beneath the surface small and large silver colored fish can be seen swimming with the current.  Suddenly one of them leaps out of the water and lands back in a moment later with a splash.

Nathan smiles.  “Wow, it’s just so peaceful here.  I’ve, I’ve never really been to a place like this”

Elwyn turn to look at him.  “Why not?”

“Well, we have really big cities that stretch for miles and places like this, their just not easy to come by.  We got some parks similar to this I guess but, at them you got dozens of people around all the time”

Elwyn lies back and gazes up at the sky.  Overhead fluffy white clouds of all shapes and sizes slowly glide past in the bright blue sky.  “You ever watch the clouds?”

Nathan glances up.  “Oh, I haven’t done that since I was like five years old”

Elwyn sits up on her side and smiles warmly.  “Wanta watch them?”

Nathan smiles.  “Sure”

He lies back next to her and gazes up at the clouds.  For the next hour or two the pair stay side by side pointing out clouds to each other as they talk.

Elwyn suddenly sits up, noticing the water she glances at Nathan and smiles.  “Wanta go for a swim?”

Nathan sits up and looks at her blankly.  “Swim?”.  He looks down at his armor.  “We don’t exactly have the proper clothing for that”

“That’s okay we can go in our underwear” says Elwyn.  Her face turns a little red as she blushes.

Nathan nods.  “Yeah okay”

Elwyn stands up and pulls off her shoes, socks and quickly peels off her top and slides her skirt down.  When she’s done she’s standing with only a white bra and a pair of white silk panties.  Nathan looks at her slim Elvin body in wonder for several moments then quickly shakes his head clear.  Elwyn puts her feet together then bends forwards as she dives into the river.  After a moment she comes up on the surface as she stands up and brushes her hair out of her face.  The water level hangs just below her bra which is so thoroughly soaked it’s transparent giving Nathan a clear view of her nipples.

“You coming?” asks Elwyn.

Nathan quickly unstraps his armor and undresses down to his underpants.  Having undressed he dives into the water.  Elwyn smiles and watches the water ripple where he jumped in.  As she waits she starts growing worried as he doesn’t suface.

Behind her Nathan slowly rises out of the water.  “Looking for someone?”

Elwyn quickly turns around and just as she does he splashes her in the face.  “Hey that’s dirty” says Elwyn.

Nathan smirks at her.  Elwyn smirks back then holds her hands up in front of her.  Nathan watches blankly as water rises up and forms into a large ball of liquid between her hands.  Once the ball of liquid is about as big as a basket ball she flings it forward hitting Nathan clean in the face and knocking him off his feet.  As he stands up wonkily he shakes himself off.

“And you call me a dirty fighter” says Nathan.

Elwyn smirks.  “That’s just payback”

“Oh, payback is it now?”

Nathan suddenly splashes her back making her recoil and shield herself with her hands.  The two stand in the water splashing each other back and forth for a while.  Eventually they both collapse onto the grass next to each other.

Elwyn smiles broadly.  “I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun.  Oh, then again I am only a few weeks old”

Nathan smiles at her.  “Don’t worry I can’t remember when I had so much fun either.  Say, you wanta go for a walk?”

Elwyn smiles.  “Sure”

The pair of them stand up and Nathan looks himself over.  He then looks at Elwyn who’s bra and panties are completely transparent leaving nothing to the imagination.  Her hair is dripping wet and clinging tightly to her skin.  All up she has the appearance of a high class super model.

“We, we should probably get dressed first…shame we don’t have any towels” says Nathan.

Elwyn smirks at him.  “Are you forgetting I know magic?”

“Huh?”

Hot air suddenly rushes up all around them from the ground with the force of a jet engine causing their hair to be blasted in the air.  After only a mere ten seconds the hot air stops letting their hair fall back into place and leaving them completely dry.

Nathan looks down at himself and touches his skin.  “Wow, we’re completely dry”

Elwyn smiles.  “You can use magic for just about anything”

“I guess so”

Elwyn struts over to her clothes and bends over to pick them up.  Nathan watches momentarily as she begins to dress herself then goes over to his armor and begins to dress himself.  When their fully clothed the pair of them walk off into the forest.  After walking past several trees and ducking under a few branches Elwyn comes to a stop and gazes up at a tree.

Up above hanging on one of the branches is a small black creature about the size of a house cat with a slender fox like body with a pair of large rabbit ears on its head.  On its forehead it has a large red ruby in the shape of a diamond.

Nathan looks at the creature curious for a moment.  “What’s that?”

Elwyn smiles.  “That’s a Sphian”.  Elwyn holds a hand up in the air near the branch.  “Come here, come on”

The Sphian slowly crawls down the branch and sniffs at Elwyn’s hand.  Elwyn smiles and scratches the little creature on the head between its ears.  As she scratches the creatures head it starts purring lightly giving off a sound similar to a cat but not as deep in noise.  As she continues the Sphian crawls down further to get closer to her.  Elwyn reaches up and picks up the Sphian taking it into her arms where she holds it gently as she gently strokes the side of its head with a hand.

Elwyn looks down at the Sphian with love in her eyes.  “I love these little things.  Their so cute”

“Quite friendly too.  Are they always like this?” asks Nathan.

Elwyn looks at him then thinks for a moment.  “Mmm I’m not sure.  Their pretty docile little creatures.  I heard animals are friendlier to elves but I’m not sure if that’s true”

After stroking the Sphian for a while longer Elwyn gently reaches up and places it back on the branch she took it from.  The Sphian continues purring for several moments as it looks at her then settles down on the branch to go to sleep.  They stare at the creature for several moments before walking off slowly.  As they walk they look around at the forest at the bushes, the flowers and trees.  They watch as the sunlight filters through the leaves and moves as the branches sway with the wind.  Above the sky slowly turns orange as the sun descends over the horizon with the clouds.

Elwyn looks up at the orange sky and smiles warmly.  She reaches out and grabs Nathan’s hand and smiles at him.  “Hold on tight”

Nathan looks at her confused.  “Huh?”.  Suddenly the two of them slowly begin to rise into the air.  “Hey what are you doing?”

Elwyn smiles.  “Relax, I want to show you something”

Nathan looks at the ground somewhat fearfully as they slowly get further and further from it.  He glances up at Elwyn and seeing her warm smile he calms down a little and silently waits.  They rise up through the branches above the canopy and come to a stop in the air overlooking thousands of trees with a town far off into the distance and the large sun glowing a heavy orange as it slowly sinks down in the horizon behind a set of clouds.

“Wow” says Nathan.

Elwyn motions her free hand and a thin glass like plate quickly appears beneath them.  After a moment they slowly descend and come to stand on the transparent magic shield.

Nathan glances at their feet and taps his foot.  “This is?”

“Just a small shield so we can stand up here” says Elwyn.  She turns to the sun and stares with a warm smile.  “Isn’t it beautiful?”

Nathan turns to look at the sun then smiles.  “Yeah, yeah it is”

Elwyn sits down and glances up at Nathan.  He smiles and sits down beside her.  After a moment she leans on him resting her head on his shoulder.  Nathan smiles deeper and puts his arm around her as he looks at the sun setting.  The two of them stay there close together watching silently as the sun disappears and the sky grows dark.  They watch as the stars slowly appear one by one and as the town far off in the distance slowly begins to light up with dozens of torches and candles.

Suddenly a small alarm plays and a female computer voice rings out around them.  “Play Timer entitled Stop Playing has expired”

Nathan lets out a heavy sigh.  “I gotta go”

Elwyn looks up at him.  “Why?”

“It’s getting late.  I gotta head back home”

“Okay”

“Think you can teleport us back to town?”

Elwyn nods and motions her hand.  Moments later they appear in the middle of the streets of the town of Ralion where they parted last time.

“We’ll meet up with you here tomorrow afternoon okay?” says Nathan.

Elwyn smiles.  “Okay”

“I had a really great time with you today”

“Me too”

“Good bye”.  Nathan waves as his body disappears in a rush of white particles.
