Mild sex and a dysfunctional family, not a bad combination. (MF, inc, rom) *** I. I was in a sour mood when I got home and when the phone rang which did not help my disposition any. I grabbed up the receiver: "Steve speaking..." "Steven...?" It was my mother's voice. "Yeah, Mom...?" "It's your father, he just passed away..." My mood changed in less than a couple seconds. All I could muster was: "Oh." I had not been east of the Mississippi since the summer of 1982. The last time I saw anyone was at my brother Keith's wedding, his first: since then third. I was on zero, or still an eligible bachelor. In less than eight hours I accomplished the impossible getting to the local airport in the nick of time to go through the hassle of pre-flight checks, More so, I just went through the motions with the TSA people while a few wanted to hassle them: their problem. I was on a "pond jumper" that must have hit every regional airport in the west going east. I arrived at Bethlehem-Easton-Allentown Airport late that night. My brother met me at the airport. He was in no better mood than I was at the hour I arrived. "Mom's all tore up over it," he said as we crossed the parking lot to his car. "The doctor had to make a special trip out to the house to give her something to calm her nerves and help her sleep." The doctor still makes house calls? I thought the paramedics could do that? I inwardly shrugged: Oh well. "Probably Prozac and Ambien. Family?" I asked for lack of a decent question. "I don't know. All I know is Mom wants you to handle it all." I was wondering why Keith couldn't pitch in and do something. "Probate?" I asked hoping it wouldn't be too much of a problem. "Don't know, why?" He tossed the cigarette he was smoking to the ground, opened the trunk I tossed in the suit case, suit bag and laptop. "Fifteen days from date of death. Never mind – he had a lawyer?" "Yeah, a cousin of ours." Now I was interested. We got in and he was soon out of the parking lot and headed east back to New Jersey. "Who's that?" "Helen." "Helen?" I hadn't seen Helen Cornier, a cute dark haired teenager of seventeen since I came back from Germany for Keith's first wedding. "She's a lawyer?" Keith nodded his head in the dark as he picked up speed passing a couple slow moving trucks. Okay, let's see what happens with this project. We crossed the Lehigh River in to Jersey just as it was nearing eleven o'clock. I was tired and not in a very good mood. I'll figure all this out later. When I got home, close to mid-night I was greeted by a distraught mother. I personally am not one for much sympathy but I did my best to do what I could. Mom was sitting on the sofa in the living room still teary and red eyed from crying. Sitting beside her was a good looking young dark haired, dark eyed lady/ woman who I thought was Keith's wife – I only briefly met his first wife back in the eighties but never met his other two. I did my best to be sympathetic son but was doing a miserable job of it. The other woman got up from the sofa we were sitting on and walked out to the kitchen where Keith was standing by the sink smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. I tossed my Stetson on to a chair to sit beside Mom. We talked for a few minutes; she assured me she was okay. Supposedly the doctor prescribed a sleeping medicine and something to calm her nerves. He did? It wasn't doing the job or she didn't take it yet. I finally stood and walked in to the kitchen. The woman was standing at the other end of the sink, her arms crossed over her chest staring at the floor. Keith asked: "Want a beer?" I nodded my head. "Yeah." He opened the refrigerator: "Helen?" "Thanks, I shouldn't but I will now..." I glanced over at her. "You're Helen." It was more a statement than a question. She smiled wearily for a moment. "You don't remember me?" "He's been out west since eighty-something." Keith popped the top off a bottle of Rolling Rock beer, handed one to Helen another to me then said: "This is Helen." "So you've been handling Dad's affairs since...?" "Ninety," she replied with obvious fatigue. Took a long draught of the cool beer then said: "We'll get together tomorrow." She pulled a business card from her hand bag. "How about – one?" "Sounds good to me," I replied as I took a long draught of beer. "I gotta start all the funeral arrangements anyway tomorrow." Keith muttered: "Better you than me." Helen cast him a disparaging look, finished the beer, said: "'Night..." and left. II. I'm used to getting along with less than three or four hours of sleep. I was awake at five and was ready to go by six but nothing opened until seven. I remembered the General Store in town they open around six for the commuter crowd heading to the cities and especially New York. I could get breakfast there and some information if I needed it. I got the keys to Dad's car which had been parked since he had gotten sick a year ago. I needed to get around and Keith said to use that for now. I left a note for Mom whenever she woke up I'd be home later. I had a lot of running around to do that day. Good thing I remembered where everything was and short cuts to get places: and I'd been gone since sixty-seven? Wow, how things have changed around there. Pulling up in front of the store I saw the blue neon sign was showing: Open. I got out and walked inside. Well I had to admit the store was keeping up with progress: State of the art grill, new appliances and the store had been done over at some time in the last couple of years. However, the newspapers were still stacked by the door and cash register. Then I looked over the new stools at the counter; a new counter replaced the one of the 50's; magazines still in the back, but in all new metal racks not the old wooden ones when I was a kid. The one thing that stood out was the old wooden telephone booth at the very back was gone: modern times – BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone). I grabbed a New York Times laying my Stetson on a stool and sat at the counter spreading the paper out. The woman behind the counter turned to look me over as I tossed two dollars on to the counter for the newspaper. Her staring at me made me feel self- conscious until I looked up and our eyes finally locked and after a few more uncomfortable seconds she said: Steve? Steven Patrick?" The woman appeared to be of middle age maybe in her fifties, she was average height, light brown hair and brown eyes. Although she was showing some weight she was still good looking. "Yeah?" "You don't remember me? Maryann." Huh? I managed to say after digging for last names: "Givens? Maryann Givens?" "Was. Raymond. I heard that you were home – after how many years?" "Yeah." I had to think and do some quick calculations. "Twenty some years." "Your brother and Dad said you've been around the world several times by now. Only one out of the class to travel like that, I understand." I wrinkled up my mouth then said: "Dad passed away day before yesterday." "Oh – I – I am so sorry. Please, my condolences." After a few more uncomfortable seconds she said: "I understand you've been overseas the last several years." "Middle East this past year. Korea was my last overseas assignment before retiring." "Oh! Coffee?" She turned to get the coffee pot and a hand full of creamers and sugar packs. "Thanks but hold the cream and sugar." Maryann looked at me with mild surprise. "Black?" I allowed a broad smile. "Black as the old slate boards in school – better yet, burnt thirty weight drained from the pack of a Detroit diesel prime mover in an M60A3 after a one hundred and ten mile movement to contact." Maryann made a sound of disgust. I added: "Before I go home remind me to teach you how to make good tankers' coffee." She muttered: "No problem." A tall man with salt and pepper streaked hair, a stained white apron, Harley-Davidson T-shirt and Yankees baseball cap stepped out from the small kitchen and grill area. He said: "Don't ask dear. Hi, I'm Bob Raymond and you have to be Steven Patrick." Maryann seemed to attract tall men as I recalled – I'm tall. Bob Raymond and I shook hands. "I was in the National Guard for a few years," he related, "that's how I knew how tankers' coffee is made. You don't want to know, dear." Maryann tossed her husband a look of "thanks". Turned out, as we talked Maryann gave up on her aspirations of a music career after she and Bob were married and then somewhere along the line they had a chance to buy the old General Store, accept for the changes they kept it pretty much as it was when we were kids. A young girl came out from the back who was a miniature of Maryann, she was attending the Somerset Regional Junior College. "Oldest of our three children," Maryann said by way of introduction. The girl seemed shy as she acknowledged me. "An old school friend of mine. He lives out in Colorado." "Hi. Have go, Mom," the girl turned, kissed her father and left. "School, huh?" I said as the girl followed by two high school age boys left dodging past customers entering the store. Maryann returned to what she was doing. Most came in, grabbed a paper, a styrofoam cup of coffee, a couple donates, paid with plastic or change and out again crossing the street to the railroad station to wait for the train. I told Maryann and Rob what I had to accomplish that day – all within eight hours, Mom and Helen had alerted the rest of the family, me, I had the rest to do myself. "Your brother isn't helping you?" Maryann asked concerned. "No. He's got work so I am informed," I replied in a sarcastic tone. Maryann didn't say anything, just raised a brow and went on with her work as I read the paper. III. I left the General Store and headed in to Flemington by way of Route 523 and started with the funeral home and back tracked to all the places I could think of which I had to touch base on. By the time I'd made my rounds I pulled out Helen's business card, checked the address and walked over to her office which fortunately was not that far from the newspaper office. I had to post some legal paper work there to be published three times for the next two weeks. I first stopped at a telephone kiosk to have the area code changed on my cell phone; I dropped fifty cents in to the telephone change box and called a special number for my cellphone service to change the area code from 719 to 908. Then I called Mom to bring her up to date I was having lunch with Helen – my treat. That done I walked over to Helen's office. I still couldn't believe my favorite cousin was a lawyer. Her office was in what was once a Victorian era house on South Main Street near the Flemington Borough Library. I walked in to the office on the second floor, a converted suite of offices and was promptly greeted by a cute young paralegal. "Yes, sir?" she asked as I stopped by her desk. "Miss or Ms. Patrick – I'm her cousin, Steve." "Oh, yes." She stabbed at a speaker phone. "Ms. Patrick, your cousin is here." She turned back to me: "She'll be with you in a moment, sir." While I waited I looked over the huge rows of legal books. I paced around the front room for a moment looking the office over when the door opened. Helen was the image of the successful female lawyer in a dark blue woman's suit, black pumps, her hair looked as if she had just stepped out of the beauty shop a half hour ago. "Steve, you're early," she said as I walked into her office, pausing to give her a kiss. Helen closed the door as I turned three-sixty looking her office over. "Yes. Nice place, Helen." Then I turned back to her tossing my Stetson onto another chair. "It was either this or sit down by the Post Office and feed the pigeons for an hour." "Always the sarcastic one." She sat looking up at me twisting a pen in her fingers. "That's Keith." I said sitting in front of her desk then asked: "How about lunch?" She held up parts of a legal document. "This is lunch." "Take a break. Talk cousin talk and family business." "Yes, we do have that to cover." She sat back pushing the documents aside. Helen looked me square in the eye. I felt like I was the one on trial. "You know Uncle Steve disinherited you?" "I heard something about it from Keith a couple years ago." I could have cared less at that point. "According to your mother you and Uncle Steve had a feud going on." We did? I replied: "Okay, if she says so. If I recall – a big if here – I stayed in Colorado after I retired from the Army. I didn't feel up to moving back home or moving period. You know, moving every thirty-six to forty-eight months whether you're ready to or not, you tend to get burned out after a while." Helen tossed the pen on to the desk. She said leaning on the desk: "You know who the executioner of the will is then?" "Definitely not Keith." Helen shook her head. "No. Bad enough I did his second and third divorce. Me." "Why am I not surprised?" I grinned then said: "Still want to go to lunch?" Helen looked back at me then said with a sigh: "Yeah, let's go. I need to get out of here for a while anyway." "Anything special?" I asked as I stood. She shook her head again as I quickly stepped around the desk to help her stand up. "Come on, cuz take a break. It's not every day we get to talk like this." Helen smiled as I led her from the office telling her paralegal we'd be out for a while. We stood outside in front of the converted house. "Where to?" I asked. She shrugged then said: "Oh yeah, you haven't been around with all the changes?" "No. Not since eighty-two. I seem to recall the Spread Eagle Restaurant at Turn Table Junction." "Ryan's Inn now." "Client's this afternoon?" We started across the street passing the converted old CNJ railroad station that was now a bank. Not bad, they did a good job restoring the building. The Black River & Western Railroad had a pair of diesels parked just up the track near the old freight station. "No. Most of them I try to do in the morning and leave the afternoon open for the paper work." As we passed the bank heading up Railroad Avenue she slipped her hand through my arm. We walked shoulder to shoulder. I glanced down at her then ahead again. We were silent for a moment then I said: "You know what this reminds me of?" She made a sound of: "Mmm, I don't know. What?" "When we were kids. Actually I was in high school, senior, and you were in – what, first year of Junior high." She smiled a bit but let it fad. "Oh yes. How time flies." "We were each other's confident." "There were no secrets between us," she mused, then said: "How could I forget?" "You were the sister I never had at the time." "And you were the big brother I never had." We stopped for a moment to look in one of the jewelry shops we were near. On impulse I boldly asked: "What do you want?" "Huh?" She looked at me astounded. "But...?" I held her hand then said quietly: "Who do I have to spoil? I'm basically by myself." She looked me in the eye. "I know. Your mother said..." "Ah, come on." I almost dragged her into the store. We looked the selection over she decided on a necklace and earring and bracelet set. I quickly laid my gold card down. "Steve." She started to protest. I grinned and kissed her on the forehead. "You deserve it." She looked at me as the clerk quickly rang up the purchase and I signed my life away. The set took a chunk out of my card but I reasoned: what the heck, and I had only one cousin I even cared about anyway. Helen flung herself into to my arms. "Thank you, cuz," she said with tears in her eyes. We kissed, the clerk blushed, then I took the necklace off she was wearing and placed the new one on her, then the bracelet and she changed earrings. The clerk placed the other set in the box. "Come on, you can show them off at the restaurant." We walked arm in arm to the restaurant. Helen was thrilled with the gift. At least someone was happy that day. We arrived at the restaurant and were quickly seated. Helen spun the bracelet around her wrist then fingered the necklace. We small talked for a few moments, looking the menu over before finally making our choices then set the menus aside. "Look. Cuz," she began, folding her hands and looking me straight in the eye. "All kidding aside, you're basically odd man out in the family." She put on her court room persona again. We met serious gazes across the table. I said in an equally serious tone: "Can I level with you, cuz?" Helen met my steady gaze: "Sure." "I really did not want to come out here but – well, Mom insisted she needed me." Helen glanced down at the table then lifted her eyes back to mine: "Want to hear something from my point of view?" "Sure." "I really didn't want to be executioner of the estate." "But Dad twisted your arm?" She sadly nodded her head. "Family and all that." The waitress finally came over to the table to take our order then I added: "So who's the alternate?" She looked down at the table then lifted her head again: "Guess who?" My mind did somersaults on this one. I said in a low disbelieving tone: "Nah." She nodded her head again. "Yup, your brother." "And he's about as interested as I am." "Sad but true. And I have too much work right now to do a decent job of it." I sat back to think then said: "I have two weeks. My supervisor kissed me good-bye and told me to use it as vacation time. Ha. Some vacation..." She looked at me then smiled: "Your Mom said you used to do paralegal work for a while. What happened?" I grinned and toyed with the fork and knife for a minute then replied: "Keep this in mind what can happen if you get mixed up with the wrong crowd." "Tell me." She took a drink of her ice tea. "Don't get involved with husband-wife businesses; boyfriend-girlfriend or lovers; they can be suicide for your career wellbeing." "No kidding." Our meals finally arrived. She said: "So besides that, what has kept you out of law?" "Too crowded out there. For every attorney there are five paralegals or JD's on the street. You darn near need to be a Perry Mason or a superstar JD to get a decent job in a law office." "Sounds like here." We finally came to the conclusion to keep the situation as prescribed by the will and probate law. The executioner would still be her, but so she could keep up with her job and her paralegal from wasting time, I could do all the leg work in her name. Nice idea. I headed home after walking her back to her office. Behind closed doors, I gave her a kiss. The kiss caught her off guard but she smiled and gave me a sisterly kiss. "Tomorrow," I said and stepped out through the outer office past her grinning paralegal. III. That evening Mom took the tranquilizer medicine and went to bed early. I sat in the living room wondering what to do next. One thing Helen did not mention was if she had someone special in her life. She had jewelry on but no wedding band, engagement ring, nothing. Her paralegal had an engagement ring on – well, she was off limits anyway, cute as she was. I took another beer out of the refrigerator and almost drank it in one draught. Hell, the only place I had to go tomorrow was the funeral home; they were darn near doing everything for the viewing and other details: at this point I had nothing to do. By ten o'clock I finally decided to call it a night and try to get some sleep. My mind seemed to be in overdrive as I thought about Helen. The thought about what it would be like after all these years to get her back in to bed, to make love to her was a nice thought. Okay, she was my cousin. Cousins still have affairs and make love to each other; and so do sisters and brothers. I recalled when she was older and I was home on leave one time we got carried away. She was willing and I was ready and I made love to her just before I left to go to my next duty station. I fell asleep that night thinking about her and those few days we enjoyed each other. The next morning I headed back in to Flemington and Helen's office. I wasn't more than a few steps behind her as she entered the office. The first thing I did was give her the quick once over: Beautiful, smart looking, gorgeous, desirable, all in one quick glance. My mind was in a rut. The door opened a third time, it was her paralegal Alice. I finally got her name at least I knew who I'd be working with on this project – as I called it. Then as Helen was getting herself settled, I looked around: "Um, Helen...?" "Yes...?" she asked from her office. "The mandatory coffee maker, where do you hide it?" "We don't have one, drink tea." She peered out from her office as I made a face. The two chuckled at my reaction. "Knew I should have bought coffee at the shop down the street." "Okay, first things first," she said beckoning me with a wag of her finger. "Have you been to the court house yet?" "No." She reached in the bottom drawer of her desk to pass me the original copy of the will. "I suppose you know what to do. And..." she paused pulling out a check book, "the fee." "Right, the fee. I swear the fees are more to cover somebody's lunch. Remind me to tell you about McAllister's in the "Springs." She smiled at me as she passed me the check. "Later." Then I realized she was wearing the jewelry set I bought her. I had very little to do that day. I went home and took Mom shopping for a black dress and apparel. Later that afternoon I called Helen on my cell phone to see if she had been to lunch yet. She hadn't been to lunch; it had been a busy day. I went back to Flemington to pick her up from her office. I recalled where another restaurant was and took her there just to get her away from her office for an hour. "Mom and Dad arrived from Florida..." "I gotta see your Dad," I told her as I turned in to the restaurant parking lot ahead of the noon time crowd. "Got some questions to clear up." "Oh? Like what?" she asked looking at me with raised eyebrows. "Fishing." She smiled. "Naturally." We entered the restaurant and a hostess led us to a corner table. "I suppose the whole family will be here, huh?" I asked as the hostess walked us to the table. "Hard to tell," she remarked. "The family, both sides are scattered between here and New York and Pennsylvania." We sat down and Helen nearly collapsed in her chair. "I swear the place gets to be a meat grinder some days." I was quiet for a minute as I let her talk. "But, in answer to your question, yes. I think most of them will be here just to see who gets what from the Will. Word got out among them you were disinherited." "The gathering of the vultures," I remarked trying to decide between two different choices. "Not surprising. So I am the proverbial pyre, huh? Well that will give them something to gossip about." "To put it mildly, yes. I have to finish putting a trust together, get ready for court next week, a deposition the same week..." "And no real break, huh?" I replied as our drinks were brought to us. We ordered the meal at the same time. "You need a vacation worse than me." "You never did tell me what you do," she said changing the subject as salads were brought to us next. "Facilities operations. I'm day supervisor for the custodians and front for the electricians, plumbers, and most times interface with security when they need backup." "Interesting." I think she wanted to talk about something besides law and the family. That evening was the viewing. Helen arrived at the house to help me with Mom. Mom was still rattled over Dad's death. The three of us went to the viewing together. Keith followed sometime later. So goes the old saying: The only time besides an occasional reunion you see the whole family in one place is weddings and funerals. I swear it was more out of curiosity and hope for a windfall of the inheritance that half of them bothered to show up. Mom was seated near the coffin as Helen holding my arm made the circuit greeting people, she introduced me to the ones I mostly met when I was a kid and quickly forgot. "Oh little Steven!" a screechy voice called out; I wanted to crawl under a chair. Helen tightened her grip on my arm. It was Aunt Agnes. Got a sloppy kiss from her and she gave Helen one and went on to the next person. Another remarked: "Oh my goodness, how you've grown." Of course, lady I'm forty-five I should be: it was Aunt May who wondered where I'd been all these years: Doesn't keep up with the family gossip much – just the neighborhood. "Ah yes, I remember now, so you were in the Middle East, huh," an Uncle commented. "The war, huh?" I told him a few stories what it was like when the war started, he was a veteran himself -- Korea. Cousins I hadn't seen since I was in high school or before were there with their families; talked to them getting up to date on the other half of the family. And so it went most of the evening as Helen and I made the circuit through the relatives. Keith disappeared outside with a couple cousins. Seems one of them brought a couple cases of beer and they were parked out back by the hearse garage drinking and smoking. By nine o'clock it was over or at least that part. Helen helped me get Mom out of there and home. Helen was a champ. She put Mom to bed; about that time Keith showed up half drunk having been out drinking with a couple of our cousins. Keith got two beers from the refrigerator for us. We sat in silence for a moment until Helen descended from upstairs. Helen walked in to the kitchen. Keith and I were having a beer, Helen helped herself to a beer popped the top and I swear the girl downed half the bottle in one draught. She said with a sigh sitting down between us: "Thanks, I needed that." I think Helen was the only cousin of the family Keith cared for, the rest he either couldn't stand nor had any use for. He finally stood: "Gotta go. Got work tomorrow," and left leaving Helen and me alone. I reached over to put my hand on hers. She looked at me and said: "This is a helluva way for cousins to get to know each other again." "I know. This is the first time I've been east of the Mississippi since nineteen-eighty two." "What kept you away so long?" She finished the rest of the beer. "As far as I was concerned, there's nothing to even attract me to want to come back here." We stood and walked outside into the warm summer night toward her car. We stopped under a tree to look up at the clear summer night. Helen was standing in front of me. I took a huge chance to wrap my arms around her and place my chin on her head. She tried to look up at me. "You used to do that to me to prove you were taller than me." "You remembered?" She turned in my arms. "Of course. There are a lot of things we used to do as kids that I sometimes remember." "And I thought I was the only one." I leaned down to kiss her. "Remember that?" She nodded and placed her head against my chest. "Yes. What ever happened to those days, Steve? Sometimes I miss those days when we were kids." "We grew up. I went in the Army and retired; you went off to school and became a lawyer." She looked up at me a second then said: "Have you ever thought of chucking the whole thing you're doing now and really do what you want?" I hugged her to me. "Many times. Some weeks I get tired of babysitting – reminds me of the Army sometimes – and the place is about thirty-five per cent retired Air Force, some Army, some Navy and a couple token Marines, but mostly Air Force: they understand the feeling. It's been kind of a therapy in a way. I need to talk to someone the guy who runs the HR was former Air Force, been a great help." We were silent as we hung on to each other. Helen felt good in my arms again. I don't remember how long we just stood there on the lawn just staring in to the night. I finally led her to her car, kissed her again. "Tomorrow." "Tomorrow. Alice can handle the office by herself for a few hours." I opened the door for her; she got in and was gone in a cloud of dust. It was a bit before I fell asleep but I kept thinking how Helen felt in my arms. I hadn't held her like that since we were kids. I had a nice hard-on thinking about her and wanting to hold her again. V. The funeral was at one o'clock which gave me time to do some running around. I got back home in time to pick Mom up, stopped by Helen's office to pick her up and drive over to the funeral home. We were quiet most of the drive across Flemington; Mom sat in front, Helen the back seat. The service was the way it should be, Helen sat with me comforting Mom as the Pastor of their church went through the service. Finally, the grave side part which I hate but I still had to be dutiful son. Helen was there beside me for the final part. Then it was over. The trip home and the reception. Of course Keith was absent, work. I think he just couldn't bare up under it as well as I could - combat. Helen understood, we talked about it the other day, she said I was too steel hard to death from four wars to care anymore. Mom sat in the living room more to get over the emotion of the whole affair. Helen and I stepped outside for a moment. Helen's parents, Morty and Elaine arrived to see Mom one last time before heading back home. We watched them go inside then she turned back to me: she said in a soft voice as she held her head against my chest: "Don't hold it in anymore, Steve. Let go." "I will. I suppose it takes time to hit. I know, I recall a few class mates who died in `Nam. It was nearly a year before I allowed myself the tears of regret." She looked at me, tears trickling down her face. "I know, I'm supposed to be the tough lady lawyer and I go home and have a good cry sometimes. I'm making decent money out of being a lawyer but is that all there is to the job?" I thought about it for a minute then said: "Look at it this way. You're the one they look to for advice when they screw up their lives." Helen peered skyward then muttered: "And put the pieces back together for them." I walked her out to her car and we kissed for a minute then I remembered: "Tomorrow's Saturday. Let's get together for something to do – get away from here for a while. You need a break – as much as I do." She nodded her head a minute as she got in the car: "We have a lot of cousin talk we haven't even gotten to." "We have a lot of renewing to do." We gazed in to each other's eyes for a minute. I leaned down to kiss her. She said around my lips as I sought hers a minute: "Yes we do. Nine. Here's my address at the Manor Apartment's off route twenty-two." She pressed the card in to my hand and added: "Now go back inside and be good son tonight." "Yes, little Sis." She got in the car and blew me a kiss, started the engine and backed out of the driveway and was gone. The next day promptly at nine I pulled in to the parking area of the apartments to pick her up. As I got out of the car she came down the outside stairs dressed in a white linen mini- spaghetti strap sun dress, white sandals and white straw hat: All white, the necklace set I had bought her; her dark hair hanging loose down her back. I gave her a passionate kiss. "Later, Tiger..." "Grrrrrr..." We laughed as she got into the car, the mini-dress riding up her legs suggestively. She made a half attempt to pull it back down her legs as I got in. Helen suggested the shore which I had not seen since I was kid; unless you consider the Persian Gulf and Iran something to look at. We drove to Perth Amboy and to the beach area. Of course the one thing which I couldn't help comparing it to, the mountains out in Colorado, at least you had no problem finding someplace to park. Most of the way down Helen sat close to me which at first was a nice surprise. When traffic was clear I was able to slide my hand along her leg which brought a smile to her. At a traffic light she kissed me. "Like that?" she asked sliding her hand along mine. "You know it..." The drive down to Perth Amboy was the first chance we'd had to really spend time together in a week. We were like two kids again as we walked along the beach hand-in-hand. Sometimes we stopped to stare at something, I would hold her; she would hold me. I would suggestively feel her up. She made the suggestive sound of a cat. Once more we were lovers. She seemed to be giving herself to me as we held on to one another, enjoying each other, spending the whole day together. We went to a seafood restaurant for a good dinner. "Don't get this out in Colorado," I said as I savored the fresh taste of the fish. "What do you get?" she asked. "Frozen or what they claim is fresh seafood shipped in same day. Ha!" We walked through the tourist zone – most places the price did not match the item. We finally did go into one store where I bought her a necklace. "Steve...!" she started to protest. "Like I said, who do I have to spoil?" I put new necklace on her over the other and gave her a kiss. We stepped outside the shop and around the corner where I was able to give her another more passionate kiss. "What do you want to do now?" I asked as we started back to the car. She shrugged. I knew then what I wanted to do, but was she willing? When we got into the car I tried to think of all the possibilities, she finally said: "Home?" I nodded my head, started the engine and started the drive home which ended at her place. We stood by the door for a moment staring in to each other's eyes; I leaned down to give her a long passionate kiss, she wrapped her arms around my neck. "You don't have to be anywhere yet do you?" "No." She fished her key from her purse, I took it, opened the door and we walked in. I reached back to the locks locking the door. She tossed the hat and purse toward a chair and spun around letting me take hold of her. "Thank you, Steve," she said as she directed me to sit down. Then, to my surprise, Helen sat on my lap wrapping her arms around my neck. We kissed long and hard. I slid my hands over her back and shoulders and taking a chance, I slipped my fingers under the thin shoulder strap slipping it from her shoulder. The top was elastic which gave me the chance to pull the dress down from her nice small breasts. Helen's mouth met mine again, she said softly: "I'm your cousin." She tried to pull the dress back up as I held it staring in to her eyes. "Second," I reminded her. "But, technically this isn't supposed to happen." She held her hands over her breasts. "Who says?" "Society." "A lot they know about cousins." She let go of the dress laying her head on my shoulder, I caressed her breast fingering her nice hard erect nipple. We just sat there kissing for a while. Finally I slid my hand along her leg gathering the dress up until I reached her hips and the little white lace panty. Helen nuzzled my neck as I caressed her pussy. She spread her legs allowing me to slip my hand between her legs and along the tender vee. As she rested her head on my shoulder, I caressed and fondled her, with a smile and gleam in her eye she began opening my shirt. "Tit-for-tat," she said softly until she began slipping it off me. Somehow she was able to get the shirt off me as I was able to get the dress off her. She kissed me along my chest and neck as I made a small hickey on her neck she made a sigh as I pressed the little lace panty in to her pussy to fondle the erect clit. She began moving her hips on me then gasped: "Oh! Ah, Steve...!" Suddenly, and to my pleasure she came in a gush, her juices seeping from her in a surge. "Oh...Steve," she sighed as I continued to fondle and caress her pussy then, bringing her to a second orgasm: "Aaaah, Oh, god, what are you doing to me...?" Then softly in a timid voice she finally said: "Steve, I – I think you opened up something in me today, something I never knew was there. And no, I realize it hasn't been a bad thing. It's something that I've held in check within myself for many years. It's something I wish I'd known about a long time ago." "You're learning all over again, Helen," I told her. "It's going to takes time." "I know. Do we have time?" I nodded my head. "Yes." I kissed her again. Then leaned back laying on my back pulling Helen down on top of me, her small full firm breasts pressed in to my chest. I could tell by her eagerness and arousal that Helen never did anything like this – this was all new to her. She was like a teen-aged girl, like the first time I did anything like this to her. To Helen, this is how love should be between two people – a man and a woman expressing their love to one another without inhabitations. Our kisses began tentatively, exploring, hesitant at first getting to know one another then our kisses became more passionate and intimate. After a moment I turned to roll her on her back, her long dark hair spreading out in a halo about her head. I began to slowly suck and lick and kiss her tender breasts. Helen was drawing in deep breathes as I kissed her nice small erect puffy nipples. She put a hand over mine stopping me. "Steve, what – what are you going to do to me?" She asked in a soft tone as I cupped the breast to fondle and caress its full form, the middle finger caressing the hard form of the nipple. "Make love to you the way I wished I could have so many years ago." I kissed her as I moved the hand down her side to slip it inside her panty and the thatch of downy hair; moist with her juices. She opened her legs just enough to let me slid my hand between her legs to feel her nice wet pussy and erect clit. "This isn't going to hurt you – darling." "Y-You wanted to make love to me?" As I kissed and sucked on the G-spot on her bringing moans of pleasure from her, I said: "Of all the girls I knew at that time, you were always my favourite." "And we're cousins..." I caressed her pussy the panty becoming wet with her feminine juices. Slowly with gentle caressing of her swollen little clit, I fingered her pussy as we kissed. My finger slid in to her warm wet womanhood, my thumb molesting her hard erect clit. She sighed moving her hips: "Oh yes, Steve. I – I've missed this. Be gentle, Steve..." I laid her back on the sofa, her long dark hair a halo about her head. I pushed the dress above her hips and waist. I leaned over her kissing her neck and chest; I left love marks on her breasts and body, kissing her down to her waist and the panty waist band. Finally I grasped the waist band to pull her panty down. I drew in a breath as I gazed at her pussy moist with her juices. Helen realized she was vulnerable to me now as I fondled her pussy. I slid my hand over the smooth V between her legs to fondle her pussy pressing my finger in to her warm wet womanhood, molesting her pulsing clit. After a moment I drew the hand up to the waist band of the panty then slid it in and down to her warm wet pussy sliding my finger through the thatch of downy hair about her throbbing young womanhood. I thrust my finger in and out of her, she moaned loudly as I went in deep with each thrust. Then, on impulse, something I only did once to a girl and it about drove her over the edge nuts: I pulled out of her before cumming in her. "No!" Helen screeched at me and pulled on my arm, trying to get me back in her. "Don't leave me like this, Steve!" She pleaded. I rose up on my knees with a wicked grin then to her astonishment I went back down between her legs to her sopping wet pussy to take her clit between my lips and suck and lick, kiss her until she immediately cam on my out stretched tongue. She threw her head back with a cry of the lust that consumed her as my tongue molested her pussy. I reached up as I sucked on her tender pussy, taking her breasts in each hand to gently squeeze them playing with them feeling the erotic silkiness of her skin as I tongued her. In less than a minute, she reached down and slammed my face into her cunt as she shouted: "Ohhhhhhhh!" a second time, cumming on to my out stretched tongue. Her body flailed about as I held on for dear life. Her back arched and her fingers clutched my hair even harder. "Oh, gentle, Steve... gentle, please...make it good, Steve..." After a minute she was breathing hard as she lifted her hips, throwing her head back Helen let out a sharp gasp and "Oh!" she cam again in a torrent of her feminine juices. I couldn't help but grin that I'd brought her to an orgasm so soon but seems she was already aroused by the fact that she knew she'd get laid that night. She sighed: "Ah, oh... yes, yes!" Helen's face was flushed from her exertions. She looked up at me through the tears in her eyes. I know she felt and was enjoying the feel of my hand on her womanhood. I caressed her pulsing clit wondering if I could go down on her a second time eating her out right there; more than that, I wanted to just have the pleasure of fucking the hell out of her too. This had to be the first time Helen had been penetrated by another man this way; I eased my finger in and out of her nice and tight young womanhood – I couldn't help but also think of her as a young girl, remembering her as a virgin; taking the girl for the first time. My finger slid in to her nicely lubricated pussy until I was all the way in then slowly slid it back, then in again and then set up a gentle caressing rhythm as I caressed her clit with my thumb. Soft moans and oooh's from Helen told me she was enjoying what I was doing to her; she rocked her body back and forth and moved her hips with the fingering of her pussy. After another minute Helen thrust her hips and with a sharp "Aaargh! Oh ye—sss!" she came a second time her juices flowing on to my hand. As I fingered her, Helen reached over to feel and fondle my raging hard malehood. She grasped it through the pants material and began caressing it until I was afraid I'd lose it in a torrent of juice. I finally brought her off a third time her feminine juices coming in a stream that drained her. Helen lay back catching her breath then said in a soft voice: "What – what you just did to me Steve was beautiful. I've never experienced that in all my life . I – I love you for that... what you just did to me." I took her panty the rest of the way off tossing it down onto the floor, loosened my pants; she drew in a breath as my hard erect cock was freed from the pants. I quickly moved onto her, pressing her in to the cushions with my weight. My hard cock probed the tenderness of her opening, it was nice and moist, she was ready for me to take her, to possess her, use her for my own pleasure, she was mine to use as I wanted. I slowly pushed my cock into her penetrating her as I lowered my mouth to hers. Helen moaned as I penetrated her, she was now mine – even for the night. She was nice and tight – almost it seemed virgin tight. Helen's pussy was nice and tight, sliding my cock in to her wetness was like slipping my hand in to a tight glove; she thrust her hips begging me to go deeper in to her; her pussy was nice and tight – tight as a virgin's. I steadily slid myself in to her, I gasped as I went deeper, her pussy gripping me as if in desperate need to feel a male, any male inside her. She needed what I had and was willing to let me have what I wanted. I reached the depth of her pussy then slowly drew back, stopped for but a moment then thrust forward; I slowly thrust in and out of her tightness letting her savour the feel of my malehood just inside her for the first time. I probed the tenderness of her opening, my cock thick and hard, her tender pussy was nice and moist, she was ready for me to take her, to possess her, use her for my own pleasure, she was mine to use as I wanted. Slowly I pushed my cock into her penetrating her as our mouths locked together. Helen moaned as I penetrated her, she was now mine. Just as Helen was about to cum again, I pulled out and stood, she gasped: "Ah no...Steve!" "Not yet, sweetheart. Not yet." I hitched my pants up, picked her up and carried her in to the bed room. I lay her across the bed, her legs spread; once more open for my pleasure. I opened my pants and took out my erect cock probed her sopping wet pussy, I thrust hard in to her: She took me with a groan as I once more went deep in to her, thrusting harder. It was sometime late that night we lay in each other's arms getting our breath and composure back. I couldn't get over that this beautiful creature was still so willing to give herself to me that night. I reached over to the night stand and my wallet. Helen still lay across my chest watching me in the dull lamp light. I took out a spare house key: I had a spare ignition key too in the wallet. I've locked myself out more than once. I passed her the key. "In case you need a long vacation, come on out west. This is the key to the house. You can stay with me instead of some motel that'll eat up your savings." She took the key from me, clutching it she kissed me, pressing me down with her chest, her breasts felt too good to even dream about. She said as she slipped on top of me: "You know I will, cuz." Two months later as I approached the house I spotted a familiar car in the driveway. Something told me I was in for a surprise. I pulled in the driveway behind the other car which had New Jersey license plates. "Helen!" I nearly called out as I jumped out of my truck. I rushed inside and there seated on the sofa in a very suggestive manner, her legs tucked up under her wearing a long ankle length beige strapless dress with low neck line that showed off her beautiful breasts and a slit up the right side that showed an ample amount of her leg was my cousin. Helen held up the house key I had given her and said: "Surprise."
