Ben (elmerbigben@hotmail.com) *** The continuation of Yolanda's Story. Betrayed by her friend Tom Turner she is turned over to the lecherous prosecutor. She lets herself be taken advantage of sexually in order to avoid prison. But then even worse, she is re-arrested on charges by the prosecutor. Now she must face trial and perhaps prison and even some form of corporal punishment. This part of the story begins just after her re-arrest. *** *** Trial and Prison *** Yolanda is arraigned before His Majesty's First Court of Record and enters an innocent plea. She is not represented by counsel. His Honor Judge Terwilliger: "The Court accepts your not guilty plea and will set a date for your trial in due time." "Thank you your Honor, for I am truly innocent. I did not escape from custody. I was ordered released by the High Prosecutor." "Is that true Bailiff, where are the release orders for this woman?" "The jailor advised they came through unsigned, Sir. I can have him before the court to testify if need be." "Hmmmph! I don't like the sound of this. The fact papers came down, whether or not unsigned must have signified the Prosecutor's intent to release her. It will be brought to the attention of The High Supreme Tribunal of this. Why was a warrant issued?" Yolanda sees a glimmer of hope. The judge seems a fair man. She asks, "Does that mean I am acquitted Your Honor?" "Unfortunately, no, my dear. This is but an arraignment; there must be a full trial to determine your guilt or innocence." The judge leans over the bench and whispers, "In my opinion, off the record of course it would seem you have a good chance for exculpation on this particular charge." "You will, of course, require counsel and it would be best if you not be incarcerated in the interim. Do you wish to name counsel at this time for the Court record?" "I have no funds to hire a Barrister, Your Honor. Can the Court appoint one for me?" "The Court cannot recommend counsel. It must be impartial in all matters and are you asking for a pro Bono representative? Surely the court cannot compel a barrister to defend you. That is entirely up to you to secure counsel, however you may." "I... I'm sorry your Honor, I just thought... where I came from, my country, courts are required to appoint counsel if a defendant can not afford one." "Why I never heard of such a thing. However I will accept a signature bond and set trial for a fortnight from tomorrow at His Majesty's High Court. You will be notified of the exact time so make yourself available. If your whereabouts is unknown you may be subject to re- arrest. Is that clear?" *** The Trial *** Desolate, Yolanda can only hope this nightmare will end and she will be back in twenty first century suburbia before the dreaded fortnight has passed. Having lost her lodging after her first arrest and the arrest of Tom Turner she gives her present abode as the City Poorhouse where she is certain she can find a place to stay by doing odd jobs such as sweeping and mopping the floors, assisting in the laundry washing the filthy bedclothes from that facility and, perhaps, emptying and cleaning the numerous slopjars. Unbeknownst to her a heretofore-unknown benefactor has witnessed her ordeal in court. One Lady Jennifer Barstow, daughter of a Lord of the Royal Parliament and... sister to an up and coming, though clientless, young barrister, one Percival Barstow 111, has taken mercy on her. It is in the poorhouse they meet, these two women. Lady Jennifer, a kind young woman and defender of the down and out befriends Yolanda and offers her own home for Yolanda's residence for the duration of her troubles. It is through Jennifer's coaxing her brother, Percival, becomes Yolanda's Counsel before the Court. Despite Jennifer's good intentions this will again place Yolanda in a compromising position for Percival does not have the same generous, charitable nature as his sister. "I understand my sister has furnished you lodging for the past week." "Yes, she has, and for that I am most grateful." "Board and an addition to your wardrobe as well." "Yes, and it is my sincere hope to repay her in some way...when I can." "I am additionally informed she has practically volunteered my services for you in matters before the High Court." "I would be most grateful for I am unfamiliar with the ways of the law. I assure you I will find some way to repay you for your services." "Pay yes, repay no. I require payment in advance, or didn't she tell you?" "We did not speak of payment. I have no funds and the only employment I have found was at the city poorhouse in exchange for my keep. Then only for a short while until your sister...." "There are other methods of settling an obligation rather than money. Did my sister mention that?" "Well, no... I just thought...." "As a matter of fact I have already taken your case and acted in your behalf. The prosecutor has been convinced of the weakness of his case against you for escape from custody. He has had that charge dismissed." "Why that is wonderful. I'm so grateful. Does that mean there will be no trial?" "Were that the only charge but he has decided to press the original complaint of harboring a fugitive and conspiring against His Majesty the King. The sentence you face could be death by hanging." "But I thought..." "I have convinced the Court to have you brought in on a summons. Until such time as the Court releases you you are to remain in my...and my sister's of course, custody. As to payment I should think this a good time to discuss that." Yolanda sees the same look of lust in Percival's eyes as in those of the Prosecutor; she feels, in addition, the same sense of being trapped as with the Prosecutor. "And what would you have me do in return for your services." She emphasizes the in return in her retort. "I see you remained for a week in the Prosecutor's personal custody." He shuffles a sheaf of papers, obviously a report of her former detainment, "And what did you do to earn your release at that time?" Yolanda blushes crimson. She learns the prosecutor has a reputation, one that rubs off on his victims; it has rubbed off on Yolanda. "We both know what you did, not precisely what you did but very near to what occurred. I would have you relate the adventure to me in detail. Mustn't leave anything out. I want my money's worth for my efforts which, I assure you, will save your pretty neck." In abject humiliation Yolanda will reveal the intimacies she has been forced to share with the High Prosecutor. Not before one last demand by Percival, however. He requires she stand before him naked and relate the happenings to him. An hour goes by. Yolanda stands before Percival clad only in stockings and garters and the high button shoes she has received as a gift from Jennifer. She has told all but the most salacious practices the prosecutor has forced her to participate in. Percival has withdrawn a sizable male member from his breeches and occasionally strokes it as she tells him the dirtiest most outrageous things. Occasionally he has her pause to fondle and kiss her lewdly. "You seem to be growing tired standing. I know you have much more to say. I know there were nastier things the prosecutor required of you than you have told me. To aid you in your efforts you may sit" He points to a small low table on which he places a pillow. "Sit here with your legs spread and your knees high. Place your hands palm up on the tops of your thighs. Draw your feet under you a bit. Ah, that's it. Now go on with your story." Exposed before him in the most indecent manner, showing her submission by this vulgar pose Yolanda is nonetheless excited by the thought this spectacle must present to him. Unshielded from his leer and the frank inspection of her charms she continues with her version of the week with the Prosecutor. Percival continues to masturbate. She is not surprised that near the end of her dissertation he suddenly alights from his chair and kneels before her open thighs. She is ordered to go on with her story as Percival practices cunnilingus upon her. Some few minutes later Percival picks her up and throws her bodily on the floor and mounts her. It is there she has her third orgasm. Later in Percival's bedroom she will be caused to have three more. For the next week she remains Percival's personal sex toy. It will be worth it all to be exonerated in Court, she believes. But where has Jennifer gone? The trial seems hopeless for her. Percival must face the odious and experienced Prosecutor, a man of little character but much power. There are no character witnesses to testify in Yolanda's behalf, only Jennifer. Her brother will not let her take the stand though. He does not want the family's name sullied by her being associated with such as Yolanda. Jennifer protests but to no avail. Her brother will have the last word on this matter. The most damning evidence is her relationship with Tom Turner, a known and confessed enemy of the king. He will be brought to testify for the prosecution. It is in his best interests, in order to save himself from hanging, no less, to present good evidence for the state. Percival, on whose shoulders Yolanda's hopes rest believes his best interests lie in not offending so high a personage as the Royal Prosecutor. This writer wishes to spare the reader the details of the pitifully weak case Percival presents. Yolanda sees, for the last time! Tom Turner, as he enters the courtroom much bent over (a result of his treatment in the Prosecutor's dungeon) walking with the aid of a stout stick. It is Tom's testimony that seals Yolanda's fate. Once again as he passes her upon leaving he whispers, "I'm Sorry Yolanda, I had to do it." Yolanda is sentenced immediately. She stands alone at the dock awaiting the Judge's decision. Percival has vanished into the crowd. It is Jennifer who comes forward to stand beside her. The Judge raps his gavel on the polished oak of his desk and calls for order in the courtroom. The prison is as one would imagine it to be, gray and foreboding, isolated on a bleak island well offshore, the European Alcatraz of its day. Here Yolanda is brought in chains alone now and bereft of her only true friend. It is not to be a long stay she knows, only a month or two before her sentence is carried out. One fine day at the pleasure and convenience of the Warden she is to be led naked to the massive whipping post in the center of the prison courtyard and there to receive no less than thirty stripes. Thereafter her fate is uncertain. Naked she is subjected to the mandatory examination by the prison physician, a man who takes great delight in this particular duty. The rough examination includes a thorough exploration of Yolanda's bodily orifices as one would expect. Afterward she is bathed in cold water and scrubbed down with a harsh soap and stiff bristled brush. She is given a simple gray shift to wear and a cheap pair of open sandals. She is led down the gloomy hallway to her small, bare cell lit only by a small skylight. This will be her home for the next two months while she awaits the whip.
