A Few Hints On Making Steamy Hot Home Videos First, read our Hints on Making a Good Video. Most of the rules and guidelines that you read there are applicable, and will not be repeated here. There are certain guidelines and hints that are particular to giving good video, however, and we will try to cover them here. Just as in the general guidelines, lighting is of primary concern. Most of you, except those bold types living in warmer climates, will be doing most of your shooting (video & otherwise) indoors. If at all possible, and if you're real friendly with the neighbors, make the video during the day, and leave the window shades open so that lots of natural sunlight streams in. This is particularly effective in areas like New York, where people tend to be unsociable. You'll be amazed at how many new friends you make ! If sunlight is not available, use incandescent lighting (this assumes that you are not a professional, and don't have tungsten lighting at you disposal) and STAY AWAY from fluorescent (that scene on the kitchen table will just have to be cut!) lighting. Use plenty of light, bring in lamps from every part of the house, and flood the room with light. Just don't point it directly at the action. Try to keep all the light indirect and behind, or to the sides of, the camera. If you like doing it in the dark, this is not the medium for you. Now onto filming... again, read the general guidelines. Keep zooming, and movement to a bare (no pun intended) minimum. Place the camera on a tripod. If you doing your part correctly, you are already creating enough movement. Any movement by the camera will only create blurring, and make it impossible to capture the images correctly. If you're really doing your part correctly, make sure the camera and tripod are sitting on an unmovable object, such as a very heavy bedroom dresser, or butcher block in the kitchen (oh, that's right, I forgot that we cut that scene !), so that there is no vibration to the camera. Consider that this will be viewed on a five inch screen. While in most cases this will not be true, many of the images will be reduced, and the effect will be that of a small screen. If you keep this in mind, all your framing will be good. As far as framing, try to keep the frame full, that is, don't get stuff in the background that you will later want edited out. While we will edit anything you like, in any manner, it is easier if the video is shot correctly to begin with. Close-ups are not particularly becoming in most (but not all) cases. We all know what the ol' in & out looks like, but a full body shot gives the video personality and a special quality. Remember, we can edit out, blindfold, digitize, or blur any faces or background that you don't want to be obvious. .... Just a note .... These videos are for YOU to distribute. They are your private property, to view with whoever you feel comfortable viewing them with. Windup does not distribute these, unless you specifically ask us, and authorize us to do it. For the best overall shots, we recommend that you get a close friend, or somebody that you want to become close with, to take over the camera. This can create a very sexually charged atmosphere, and let you keep your thoughts on the business at hand (tongue, foot, whatever). Now, if you get someone to take the videos, the same rules apply, i.e. the cameraman (camerawoman) should have the camera on a tripod, and should keep movement to a minimum. He or she is there to occasionally move to another scene or angle, but the camera should, for the most part, stay still. Let the photographer know that zooming is good to get in to a shot, but that you have to stay there for awhile. Explain that the camera should be a still viewer, and the cameraperson is there only to make adjustments and corrections. Actually, if you can get them to wide angle, and then have them join the action, you'll have even more fun, and make a better video. Just remember, with nobody behind the camera, and with more than two bodies in the action, you will need to pay attention to blocking the view of the camera. Whether there are two, three or more in the video, if you have a TV available, and a long enough cable (I know, you have a ten inch cable !), hook the TV up to the camera. Be careful of these things, though, if you do this. First and most importantly, do not place the TV in the same direction as the camera. You will have a tendency to look into the TV and this will be very obvious if the TV and camera are in the same direction. Place the TV at least 45 degrees off the angle of the camera. This will eliminate the "staring into the camera effect". Second, turn the volume off. We are not using sound, and it will only be distracting as well as a creating the potential for feedback. Nothing like the high pitched squeal of feedback to enhance a romantic evening. As with any video, keep the background stimuli to a minimum. This means using unpatterned bedsheets, etc. You should be the center of attraction, and not the floral wallpaper. Talking about background stimuli, here are two very important things to look out for. The first is pubic hair. Pubic coiffure is a matter of personal taste (and we've personally tasted a few ;-> ), but when it comes to making a video, less is more ! For the ladies (assuming there is a lady in the video, we make all types), the mons Venus can be trimmed to your liking (hearts and the straight narrow look are popular, as is the natural V ), but the vulva should be clean shaven. We suggest that it be done with a razor a few days prior to shooting, so that any redness or irritation is gone, and then use an electric razor on the day you film. The videos will be much clearer, and more attractive. Of course, this is only a suggestion. Second, most of you will want to look your best, and many will take a shower just prior to filming. A big word of caution here.. Baby Powder smells nice and feels good, but on a woman can look like a yeast infection. If you use powder, take a cloth with some baby oil, and remove the baby powder from the vulva, anus and nipples. Powder on these areas will show up much more than you would expect. The oil will also give a nice supple touch. Try to make the video interesting, everyone's done an ol' in&out, in&out, in&out, turnover, in&out, in&out, etc. Try to get at least one great, different scene. Remember, we will be using very very little actual footage, so you will want at least one scene that says "This is us !". Cum shots - the ever popular finale. Unless you have someone there, it is very difficult to get a good final shot. About all you can do is pre-focus on an area, get back in there, and do your thing. Remember, don't shake the lizard too much, and don't do a fire hose up & down spray. Keep it as still as possible, and let the flying fluids be the only movement. As for the ladies, if you're not shy, focus in on the eyes and/or breasts. We are not adding sound, yet, so let the camera talk. Most of all, be uninhibited, and have fun. We will take special care of your video, and treat it as though it was ours. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions to add to this, leave a message for John or Kathy. We love hearing from you. John & Kathy Windup Productions BBS (718) 359-3111
