Spanking and Other Treatments for the Bottoms of Orfan Girls,
Conducive to Their a Long and Happie Futures.
The author of this chapter is Henry Browne, Doctor of Medicine,
Physician to the Great Orfanage of London, where he has attended
for some fortie years. This account is in his own words, albeit
somewhat discursive.
My work as Physician at the Great Orfanage of London has been in the
Girls' Buildings, which for more than fortie years have been the scene
of my constant labours towards their present wellbeing and future
happiness.
We have some thousand girls in our care, going in age from new-born
babies, to girls thirteen years when they leave us for employment in
the world as servant girls.
On my first appointment as Physician to the Great Orfanage of London,
the Governors did charge me with finding ways to reduce the number of
unwanted children born in later life to the orfan girls in our charge.
Also to ensure that they leave us with qualities that make them
desirable to upright employers who will take good care of them.
The finances of the Great Orfanage, which depend always upon private
gifts, were fortie years ago in a parlous state as the Charter of
King Charles II did lack any adequate provisions, so that the health
and robustness of the girls were not then good. The Governors besought
me to do all I could to remedy this by finding further sources of
donations.
I bethought me of two major thrusts to alleviate the problems of the
girls in the Great Orfanage. The first came from the treatise of
L'Abbe Jacques Boileau entitled: Historia Flagellantium (Paris 1700).
It bespeaks the pleasures of beatings upon their bottoms to females
who have been early in their lives introduced to them, and also of the
growing fashion amongst the gentry of England to achieve gratification
by beating the bottoms of girls and young women. Both ladies and
gentle men do pay generously for this pleasure.
The second is described in L'Art de Jouir of La Mettrie (Paris 1748),
which tells the lasting desire of a girl for a man's yard to enter her
bottom when that she has been pleasured by a like titilation to her
rectum, to induce defecation, by her nurse in infancy.
It behoved me then to enlist the aid of certain noble gentle men in
London who have the altruistic urge to help those who are helpless and
in dire straits. I was able to prevail on some, who quickly found
others to do likewise, to give of their time to carefully and
diligently awaken each of our young charges to the sensual joys of
having their bottoms warmed by spanking and of having a smooth object
slide into her bottom.
This work soon awakened in the gentle men such a personal feeling of
compassion for the orfan girls that they did make handsome and
frequent gifts of money to the Orfanage, as did the many who came to
observe and marvel at what they were doing to help the young objects
of their beneficence.
The result was very soon to send orfan girls at age thirteen out into
the world who were well-built, strong and healthy, after that we had
trained them as servants to large houses. There they welcomed the
disciplinary practices that were favoured by the gentry; and they
would always choose to enjoy the love of a man per ano, thus avoiding
the embarassing problems of pregnancy in a servant girl.
The careful and time-consuming work of these admirable gentle men in
the Great Orfanage is described in more detail anon.

PART 2
Urges Per Ano
Regular movements of the bowelle are most important to a female babie,
and never more so than in the first year of life. We assist her in
this with a thin, rounded and smooth twig of wood about one eighth of
an inch in diameter and wrapped at one end with wool of lamb. The wool
is then covered well with soft mineral grease or animal fat.
The gentle man layes the babie girl face down on a table at which he
sits, separates her nates with the fingers of one hand and use the
other to slide in the stick with lamb's wool and grease; he does
slide this in exceedingly slow and gentle, turning the stick so it
enters easy and pleasant for the babie.
He lets the stick stay in place for ten or fifteen minutes, and moves
it slightly in and out from time to time. His whole object during this
procedure must be to give pleasure to the babie, and he should be able
to see this pleasure in the demeanour of the babie. He always uses
plenty of grease.
After the stick is removed the babie will shit easie, and he will
clean everything ready for the next babie.
We try to repeat this procedure at least once each week, three or
four times a week is better, so it will have other effects for the
female babie that are very happy for her: these treatments soon give
her the ability and strong desire to have smooth objects slid into her
rectum, and these cravings last for all of her life.
After she reaches pubertie, her great urge will be to have sexual
intercourse thus; she will readily achieve orgasms this way, with
never any problems with pregnancy or bringing unwanted infants into
the world. If she wishes to bear a child, it will be a rational
decision by her, not a mistake made in the heat of passion.
Nota Bene: Avoid any use these procedures with a male babie, else he
will spend his life aching to have his rectum filled with a stiff
object. He will have a most unsatisfied existence, liklie as a
catamite. Also, the ladies will lose a stallion!
Cease these treatments of the babie girl after the age of twelve
months; she will keep no memory of it in her mind, but will always
retain the propensitie, and this will lie dormant until awakened in
later years. She will then think her urges to make love with her
lovely bottom were born to her.
If a girl should enter the Orfanage after the age of six months, these
treatments should start as soon as practicable and continue at least
twice a week for six months or more. If the girl has reached the age
of reason, some medical purpose should be stated for the treatments;
she will equally cultivate the urge for her future lovers to enter her
thus.
About the age of twelve, the orfan girl will leave her dormitory room
of fortie girls, and move to a separate part of the building to be
with others of twelve years and older in smaller rooms, to sleep and
complete her toilet. Here we teach her to use a small clyster after
that she shits each day, for the sake of cleanliness for her and for
her companions. She is taught to use warm water, both for good
cleansing and for her own pleasure so she does enjoy the doing of it.
A nurse is in attendance, to teach these older girls to fill the
clyster in the bathroom, then carry it decently under the apron into
the closet. After, she will bring the clyster back out and the nurse
does ensure the girl do wash and clean it properly as well as
herself.
We place in the closet from time to time some dille dolls like those
sold by women in St.James's Park; slender and smooth ones the
thickness of a finger only, coated with good coach varnish. Also a pot
of soft grease. She quickly learns from the nurse and other girls to
use these dolls to pleasure her bottom, and this usage will make it
easy for her lover in later years to enter there. Note that the door
of the closet should have no lock, else the girls will stay half an
hour and more enjoying the pleasure to their bottoms.
We ensure the girls do not obtain any dille dolls larger round than
a finger to use in their bottoms; while we wish them to acquire a
strong preference for this mode of gaining pleasure, we do not wish
them to become overly stretched and lacking in tightness in their
little bottoms, for this would reduce the satisfaction that they will
be able to give to their future masters.
You must warn each girl most severely against the common error of
inserting into her bottom anything made of glass; to frighten her from
this, say bluntly and roughly that she can hope for little help when
it breaks and she will likely bleed to death.
There is little of harm, though, in any tribadic associations that the
orfan girls may form amongst themselves. They lack the affectionate
circle of a family and it is well to encourage them to develop these
affections towards each other so they do not grow up cold and
indifferent to people. We like them to brush each other's hair and
share beds so they fall asleep in the embrace of each other, stroking
and fondling together. Such liasons do help to develop in them
natures that are warmer and more loving and lead to happier lives
later. Feelings of love and affection towards members of the opposite
sex will develop soon enough after that they pass the age of thirteen
when they have left the Orfanage.
Children's lives in London have changed little since it was depicted
in all its sorry cruelty by my late lamented friend Wm. Hogarth, Esq.
They are still driven by hunger to have their white teeth pulled, to
replenish the gums of the rich whose own teeth have rotted, so the
starving child may buy bread with the halfpence she is given. Many
others die early from brutality and the diseases given them by those
who wantonly misuse them. These thoughts oft bring tears to my eyes as
I make my night round and see our dear orfan girls blissfully asleep,
who came into the world with nothing, and are at the start of full and
healthy lives through the money and the time so generously given to
them by gentle folk out of their marvellous charity.

Discipline and Spanking
With so many together in the Orfanage and only a few to supervise
them, discipline has to be strict with frequent spankings on their
prettie bare bottoms. Up until the age of eight, this is done
immediately after that she has committed a fault. I myself like best
to take the girl over my knee and apply my hand firmly to her bare
white round nates, until they are well reddened and she weeps copious
tears.
After the age of eight, the faults of the girl are written, and she is
sent for punishment once a week; or more often if needed. At the
appointed time she is escorted to a punishment room by an attendant
where a gentle man awaits her. He already has the punishment table
arranged as he wishes, and the attendant helps to settle the girl in
place, lift her skirt, remove her underdrawers and fasten the soft
leather straps from the table legs onto her wrists and ankles to hold
her thus; her waist too if she is overly fractious. She gives the
written list of the girl's faults to the gentleman, and starts the
half-hour sand timer. She goes to the girl in the corner who has
previously been punished and pulls up her underdrawers over her bright
red or striped bottom, lowers her arms and skirt and leads her from
the room back to her school class or other training.
A position favoured by many gentle men has the girl laid flat on her
stomach on the horizontal tabletop, about fortie inches above the
floor, so her bottom is presented upwards, full and round. The table
has over its top a rough padding, so she will not bruise her bones.
The man spanks her with one hand and has the other to ease his yard if
he wish, (the girl can not see any part of him below the table), or he
may wish to hold or massage the back of the girl as he spanks.
Another frequent arrangement is to have the girl stand on a box and
bend herself at the waist over the edge of the table, so her chest is
flat on it . Then her wrists and ankles are fastened to the table legs.
This table has a flat padded end also to support the banging and
thrusts against it of the girl's mons veneris.
Hooks in the low ceiling also enable the girl to stand and have her
wrists to be tied to them above her head and well apart so she can
not turn around. The table end may give a stop to movement of her
pelvis, or she may be left free to dance each time she takes a smack
on the bottom from the hand of the gentle man or from one of his
instruments of punishment.
In any of these positions, the girl may be blindfolded so she can not
know when to expect the smacks, which may be well spaced to surprise
her. She may also have a light leather gag fitted to restrain her
noise.
Experienced gentle men are able to hold the girl with her bottom
upwards, round and lovely, over his knees and make his spanking more
personal thus, with her cunnie pressing into his leg.
The Orfanage provides in each punishment room a hairbrush, a wooden
paddle, a leather strap and a cane. Girls become familiar with the use
of all of these on their prettie young bottoms before they leave us,
so they are not likely to be surprised by anything that their masters
do to them after that they leave the Orfanage to become servants. Many
of the gentle men choose also to bring with them their own instruments
of punishment to the Orfanage. The man will read aloud the list of
offenses for which the girl is to be punished, and may make further
comments as he spanks with his hand or one of the instruments on her
bare bottom.
A new gentle man is assisted by a more experienced friend or a member
of the staff until he is well able to elicit the response that we
wish to secure from the girl, be she eight or thirteen. The first
spankings of a girl of eight are most gentle. Brisk beating may be
needed, though, to warm a girl of thirteen, to bring her to copious
weeping, loud pleadings, straining at her ties and a full ecstacy of
excitement from the spanking.
Each girl learns to show signs of great pain and anguish, with noisy
shouts, plentiful tears and writhing movements, so her employers will
be well gratified, and so she fully pleasure herself by rubbing
against her spanker's knees or the lumpy padding on the table.
She learns also never to fully succeed in any attempts to escape from
punishment: her masters will employ her for their gratification, not
for their frustration!
All girls benefit from a light massage of the nates with oil after
the beating to asuage the pain and to show that the gentle man holds
no personal animosity to her. Some gentle men are so driven by their
compassion for an orfan girl that they do bring themselves to fondle
and nuzzle and kiss deep into the girl's warmed bottom for prolonged
periods, murmuring all the while softly to her, to ensure they have
conveyed this message of full and lasting care for the poor orfan.
These gentle men are truly noble in what they do for these unfortunate
girls who lack all family in the world.
We ensure no girl becomes attached to a particular gentle man by
changing her spanker from one week to the next. In all cases our
purpose is to ensure the girl will look forward with pleasure to the
next occasion of spanking, as we prepare her to fulfill the desires
of her future master and mistress, which is the key to her true
welfare and happiness after that she leaves the Great Orfanage.
On the other side of the walls of each punishment room are a number
of small rooms, each with its own door and a spy-hole to observe
proceedings within. I myself can ensure in this way that everything
is as it should be in the punishment procedure; I can walk in and
advise if needed. These rooms are also used by those interested in the
work of the Orphanage, who make handsome donations to its funds; they
wish to see from the way the girls twist and jerk and cry out during
their punishment, and the changing colours of their bottoms and faces,
that they are being properly disciplined, and that they show full
contrition and kiss the hand that beat them afterwards; it is usually
ladies who sit there, though they do sometimes themselves work in the
punishment rooms.
The spy-holes are of a height to look down on the scene in the
punishment room: the gentle man standing beside the table is covered
from view from the waist downwards. He thus has complete privacy for
his privy parts. Because of these spy holes, also, some spankers do
like to wear a simple mask over the upper face, leaving the mouth and
tongue free to use.
The spanker will write, in large chalk letters aback of the door, the
name of each fresh girl as she comes to him for punishment and he sees
her particular list of faults. These names in chalk are more for the
benefit of the observers behind the spy-holes: if one takes a
particular liking to a girl, she or he can ask me about her for more
particulars and even to talk with her.
In return for a suitable gift to the Orfanage, we can arrange for the
speaker to have first call on taking the girl into employment when she
becomes of age to leave the Orfanage.
The future employers of our orfan girls do find that their demeanour
during a spanking is an excellent indication of their true characters,
whether or not they would be a willing, hardworking and compliant
member of the household, or whether she have a high spirit to be
tamed, which some prefer. After that a girl is bespoke, the spanker
does not write up her name, so others will not attempt to speak for
her.

PART 4
The Final Examination
I myself give each girl at the Great Orfanage one or two most thorough
examinations in her last year there. I do these in my private chambers
after that the day's work is done so there will be no interruption. I
can then see that she is indeed learning all she should so as to please
her future masters in the world, including the way she responds to a
spanking. I myself teach her any further of the personal arts that she
needs to have, such as making some modest protestation with little
noise before she succumbs to a man's ardour; carrying a small container
of grease at all times to ease the entry; and to always fall to the
ground or the bed with her bottom upwards and her skirt lifted as if
by accident.
After my spanking I stroke her bottom to ease her pain, in the way she
is used; at the same time I start to fondle the entrance to her rectum
with a well greased finger. I look all the time at her eyes to see she
takes pleasure and that I do not proceed too quickly. My finger will
slowly gain admittance after some minutes of play and I work it slowly
in and out until my finger is fully into her bottom.
After she has become comfortable with my finger fully into her bottom
I withdraw it and begin to make entrance with my thumb, moving it from
side to side as well as in and out. My thumb needs to slide in gently
all the way up to its joint to my hand before I proceding to the
next step; this whole fondling and first entrance of a man into the
girl's bottom must not in any circumstances be hastened and may take
upwards of quarter of an hour, talking softly to her the nonce to
allay any nervousness she may have and to keep the proper authority of
a doctor over his young patient.
When my thumb has entered completely into her bottom, I leave it there
moving slightly all the time until she is fully easy with it.
I then remove my thumb from her bottom and have her stand and bend
over the side of my table so I can see the entrance between her lovely
cheeks. I carefully grease my yard and place its head right central on
her nether lips. While I stroke her bottom with my hands and speak all
the time softly to her I rock on my feet to press for entrance to her
rectum, telling her of the medical need for this procedure and
beseeking her help in opening the way.
Following entry of my thumb her muscles are already stretched enough
to open without pain to her, and it only remains for her to relax so
she enjoy the pleasure to the full. With the movements of my greased
yard in and out of her bottom, it slowly penetrates to the full length
that she can accomodate, and she will by this time be moaning and
purring like a cat with the joy of it. To be more comfortable to us
both, we may now move to the bed where she will lie on her stomach
while I again slide my yard into her lovely bottom.
I ensure that she does reach a full orgasm this way to know the
pleasures that lies in store for the rest of her womanhood, and I
myself achieve an ejaculation, so she knows how it will be when
she leaves us.
The purpose of this whole procedure is to ensure she will not be
injured if her new master should fall upon her early in her employment
with him. This is a most important precaution to take for the girl's
own protection: her new master will be in loco parentis towards her,
and she will have no recourse if he should treat her ill, albeit
unthinkingly.
I do all I can to ensure she can come to no permanent harm from his
ardour, though it be a great burden on me each year to personally have
rectal intercourse with some eighty girls aged twelve and thirteen.
The full necessity for this examination becomes clear when one
understands that a girl of twelve or thirteen may be able to accomodate
a man's yard in the entry to her rectum, but at that age her rectum
will have to stretch in its circumference all along its length to take
the yard fully. The natural circumference of her rectum is less than
that of his yard at every point along it. It is this tight elastic
stretch of the membrane around his yard all along its length that
gives such exceeding pleasure to a man when he penetrate the rectum of
a girl.
As Robert Hooke does tell us in his Law of Elasticity: Ut tensio, sic
extensio. The rectum of a young girl is considerably extended when a
man's yard does enter into her bottom, which causes a strong and most
exciting tension to grip his yard. For the girl's part, one of my
young charges after that my yard had fully entered her, turned her
head over her shoulder and said: "Ooooh! Doctor Browne, that gives a
gorgeous feeling that goes right though me! Ooooh!". This is a most
satisfying response, for which we have laboured many long years to
produce in her, starting from her earliest days in the Orfanage as a
babie.
It does rarely happen that one of our great nobility send an agent,
albeit a gentle man, to observe the behaviour of the older orfan girls
in punishment on his behalf. If he see a girl well developed and with
a playful manner in the spankings, his lordship himself may grace us
with his presence at the spy hole. I have from time to time been
charged with the special training of such a girl in the amorous arts,
with the promise from his lordship of a most substantial donation:
half a year's expenses of the Great Orfanage was given by a duke.
This is wonderful for the welfare of all the orfans and I mention it
so a physician in like position will be ready with a curriculum of
training to propose for the orfan girl.
The girl's protector may be too ardourous for lengthy fondling before
entry so I do show each such girl how to use grease and a dille doll
shaped like a carrot, thin at one end but enlarging as it slides in,
so she can first excuse herself to "attend to her toilet" when she
will use the clyster, then prepare the opening to her sweet bottom
with this dille doll so it will be ready to take his yard easie, for
her to enjoy and frolic to pleasure the man fully. The effect of
stretching her opening does last for a full hour after she do this.
With him she will begin with her eyes dancing and flashing in delight
and end with her face flushed and gasping for breaths as they arrive
together at ecstatic orgasm.
All these nobles did wish the young orfan girl able to straddle him,
so her knees are on each side as he lie on his back, she looking
either to his face or his feet as she lower her lovely round bottom
on to his stiff yard. Other things too, but this was the most
difficult for a girl of thirteen. I gave practice to each of these
chosen girls full many a time so she became well able to maintain her
playful and loving manner while giving this pleasure. I do discreetly
inquire of her future master of his size and I give the girl a collar
to place over his stiff yard. It is a ring of thick rope with soft
leather sewn over it. This is of a size to leave only three inches of
his yard to penetrate her bottom. They can thus romp freely while she
sits atop his yard with no fear of pain to her. She and I did practice
thus.
The girl that the duke did take from our orfanage was well builded
with a full round and lovely bottom, a very peach. For the duke's
extra titillation I did teach to act coy and teasing as she straddled
over him, after that he had roundly spanked her bottom while she was
tied to the bed posts or on the bed, with words such as: "Oh! T'is a
mighty engine, your grace! . . T'will split me, I'm sure! . Let me put
plenty grease on't! . . Now let me try . . . Oh, I can not take it!. .
. Let me try again . . . it goes in a bit! La, I must have it out and
rest a minute! . . . Now let me rock from side to side; it may help .
. .There, it goes in some more!" . . and much more of the same until
his grace's yard has slid slowly as far as it could go into her lovely
bottom which grips it tight. I gave this girl other rings also for his
grace's yard to enter her four and five inches and for its full length
of six inches and a half to use as she grew able.
Whenever she did lay on the bed flat on her face she needed no leather
covered ring, as her round and succulent bottom itself did give the
spacing needed to stop his yard from going too far. Her firm cheeks
did also make extra pressure and friction on his grace's yard to his
great delight she later told me.
The duke had become widower and did take in our orfan girl of thirteen
soon thereafter, and it straightway became her duty to sleep in his
private wing of the castle and assist his sound sleep. His grace had
tutors and riding master for her like any royal princess and she
became most adept at amusing him with her stories and conversations.
His children grew old waiting for their inheritance; they never did
know our girl was living there nor could understand how his grace
continued to live in full health and vigour for so many long years,
until in the end they read his Last Will and Testament which did make
good provision for her. Our girl was of course still a virgin and did
then marry to give heirs to a lord. T'was then much talked of in the
coffee houses, to our great benfit as it did bring many more of nobles
to our spy holes, with their monies.
When I find that any of the girls is unable comfortably to take my
full yard, she will need some days of dilation with a tapered dille
doll. I find our spankers are good and tender and loving in this work;
they do seem to understand the sensual responses of the bottom of a
girl of twelve or thirteen more than a man who daily probes the recta
of new-born infants. After that this dilation has been achieved, I
will perforce have to test her myself again before I can feel
satisfied that we have done our duty for the girl.
I find each girl seems to be closer to me with a bond that lasts for
life after I have personally examined her in this way and explained to
her the reasons for her own protection of what I do. I am of course
the first man in her life to have such intimate contact with her,
which may be a large part of the reason for our later closeness. She
will often show if we meet in later years that she would like to
repeat what we did in my chambers, starting with a spanking, and I am
always glad to oblige her.
