Dawns Coming (MF)
by Ed Grand (EDGRANDI@delphi.com)

*

There is about an hour or two before the sun rises when it is still night
but just barely. You know, when you open your eyes and see it is still dark
outside and you close them again -- the suddenly an instant it is morning.

This is a magical time, when all sorts of strange things can happen:

One such morning Dawn was awakened from a sound sleep when she thought she
had heard the sound of the door downstairs opening. She knew it was locked
and the only person with a key was three thousand miles away and not due to
visit for three or four months. She looked around, noticing that all was
quiet; and that it was still dark outside. She rolled over hoping to sleep
for awhile longer.

She fell asleep and right away began a vivid dream: her lover, whom she had
spoken with earlier in the day, was there beside her; his strong arms and
legs intertwined with hers. He gently kissed her on the neck and spoke
those reassuring words that were a succor to her in times of trouble.

She turned again, glorying in this dream hoping would never end, and felt
someone beside her. Instantly, she thought her daughter had crawled into
with her again. She knew that she should get up now and take her back to
her own bed, but she did not want lose this dream. A dream that had an
added dimension, a smell, his scent. Strange she thought, she had never had
a such thing happen before. Then felt she something, a body, but not the
compact body of her daughter who frequently was all arms and legs, but a
large body, the body of man.

Dawn startled, her heart raced that a stranger had entered her home and
would do her and her daughter harm. Her first instinct was to strike out
this figure and to get away. As she reached to push him away she saw by the
first light of the sun that it was him, her lover, there beside her. Her
heart pounding with fear gave way to another emotion; one of exhilaration.
The gesture that was intended to hurt him become a caress. Instead of
pushing him away, she reached out to feel him wrap his arms around her.

He was there, but how, but why. There would be time later for these
questions. Feeling him hard beside her, she rolled again this time pulling
him over onto her and with her hand she guided him in to the place that
ached from missing him. He responded, pushing gently at first and then
harder, answering her push for push. She knew a climax was near, she wanted
it, but didn't want it to end. He swelled, there was a rush of warmth deep
inside her, what a delicious sensation. She flexed her muscles not to let
him go. He smiled his loving smile and flexed back.

He laid beside her, his front to her back. In want seemed like an instant
Dawn went from feeling terrified to feeling safe and warm. She closed her
eyes again for what she thought was just a moment when the clock radio went
off and the sound of the outside world like the light of the morning sun
filled the room.

She was awake now, but he was gone. His scent was there and she felt sore
between her legs, but he was nowhere to be found. She looked at the clock,
it was late. Her daughter's school and her busy life kept her from dwelling
on the mystery too long. She went off into the day with a bounce in her
step looking forward to bed time again.
