  RATINGS

In order from best to worst I rate stories as follows:

Outstanding
Excellent
Very Good
Good
Grudgingly Good
Not Good

The "Outstanding", "Excellent", "Very Good", and "Good" ratings
indicate, to varying degrees, that I like the story.

The "Grudgingly Good" rating indicates that I think the story is
well written, but that I find some of the elements in the story
so disturbing that if I were to review the story based solely on
my personal tastes I would give it a "Not Good" rating.

The "Not Good" rating indicates that I do not like the story.

-----

Arousal Factor - This is a measurement of how arousing I found a
story to be.

Story Factor - This is a measurement of how good I found a story to
be, devoid of whether there is a lot of sex in it or not. In
determining the story factor I take into consideration the plot, the
characters, and other more technical aspects, such as spelling and
grammar.

Possible values for Arousal and Story Factor are, in ascending order:

   Nonexistent, Low, Average, High, Ultra

Encore! by Sundance

M/F

Length: 13,100 words

Rating: Very Good

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: Average

  SUMMARY

Josh runs into his old girlfriend when he returns to his hometown for
Christmas.

  COMMENTARY

This is a nice story. There is more romance than there is sex.
There is nothing extreme about the sex. If you want a stroke story,
then I advise you look elsewhere.

Other than misspelling the last name of a professional boxer, this is
a very well written story. It is well paced and not too predictable.

Ballbuster by E. Z. Riter

Length: 4,700 words

Rating: Outstanding

Arousal Factor: High
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Ellen wants Jack back, but he will only come back if it is on his
terms.

  COMMENTARY

This story sizzles. It is hot, hot, hot! There is not much actual
sex in it, but I still found it very arousing.

I loved the interplay between Jack and Ellen. E. Z. has done a
wonderful job creating tension in this story. It worked for me.

There is some bondage and discipline in this story, but I don't think
that there is too much or that it is too extreme.

Coaching the Coach by Losgud

F/M

Length: 7,200 words

Rating: Very Good

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Linda's coach wants to fuck her. She gives him what he wants, but
things don't go exactly as he planned.

  COMMENTARY

I really liked the first half of this story. I found it extremely
arousing. This was despite the fact that there isn't any sex in it.
The second half was another story.

>From the outset it was clear that Linda doesn't really like her
coach. It was not until she got him into her apartment that it
became clear to me that she wasn't about to change her mind. So
basically I went through the first half of the story thinking that if
she is going to sleep with him, it must be because she wants to, and
in a way I guess she did, but it wasn't for the sorts of reasons that
I would hope she would want to. Put another way, her reasons for
sleeping with him are anything but romantic.

Theresa the Elder by Al Steiner

m/F, Teen

Length: 6,400 words

Rating: Excellent

Arousal Factor: High
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Mark helps Theresa, his older brother's girlfriend, take care of
Greg, his older brother, after he has passed out drunk. This good
deed does not go unrewarded.

  COMMENTARY

This story is about how Mark got to boink his older brother's
girlfriend. It is easy enough to botch a story such as this. All
you have to do is begin the story with Mark and Theresa in bed, or at
the very least have them in the sack by the beginning of the third
sentence.

I am happy to report that Mr. Steiner has taken a different approach.
He lets the story develop on its own and does not seem to force it at
all. The personalities of the characters seem plausible. The plot
is well paced. The sex is arousing.

Stepsister, Stepsister by Thor4u

M/F, Inc?

Length: 10,400 words

Rating: Good

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: Average

  SUMMARY

Michael and Sherry's decision to move from Texas to Colorado brings
him closer to his step-sisters, Helen and Kristi, both physically
and emotionally.

  COMMENTARY

This story is too sex-heavy and story-light to suit my tastes. I
also don't believe that this is incest. Michael did not grow up with
Helen and Kristi. They did not become step-siblings until they were
in their thirties.

In all fairness to the author, he does take the time to set the scene
and does not begin the story with Michael's cock buried in either
Helen or Kristi's pussy.

It is possible that my lack of zeal for this story has something to
do with the way the author/narrator introduces the female characters,
by describing them physically, to a tee.

The Gallery by Prufrock54

M/F

Length: 5,500 words

Rating: Good

Arousal Factor: Low
Story Factor: Average

  SUMMARY

A nameless, male narrator describes how he met Karen, who
inadvertently modeled for a sculpture that he is very taken by.

  COMMENTARY

What this story has going for it, is the fact that the author
realizes that there is more to writing an arousing story than just
sex. On the other hand, I did not find this story very arousing. I
also would have liked to have seen more dialogue and less
description.

If you are looking for something romantic, this might be something
for you.

A Valentine Story by Ashley

f/F/M, Teen, Inc

Length: 3,400 words

Rating: Very Good

Arousal Factor: High
Story Factor: Average

  SUMMARY

Ashley gets an erotic massage from Erica, a hired masseuse. The
massage is a Valentine's Day present from her father.

  COMMENTARY

This is your basic stroke story, with a little bit of incest thrown
in on the side. I think the author handled it quite well. I found
it very arousing. The author does a good job of building up to the
sex.

If you don't like incest stories, then you may not like this story.
On the other hand, this story does go light on the incest. Ashley
and her dad don't actually "do it".

This story is part of a series of stories about Ashley and her dad.
While I haven't read any of the other stories it is apparent from
reading this one that there are other stories where daughter and pops
"prove their love to each other".

The Man Who Ate Women by DG

M/F

Length: 4,500 words

Rating: Excellent

Arousal Factor: High
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Steve loves to eat pussy. At a party one night he agrees to eat
every pussy that plants itself on his face.

  COMMENTARY

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. DG has written a tale that is
arousing, but the way it begins and ends make it seem more than just
erotic. It actually seemed somewhat realistic.

To be honest when I first saw the title I almost went right past this
story. It sounded just a bit too direct. It also made me think of
cannibalism. I'm glad I did read this story. It was very
entertaining.

Locksmiths by Uther Pendragon

M/F, Teen

Length: 9,800 words

Rating: Very Good

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

On Valentine's Day Dan and Lori reflect on the past while Cheryl,
their daughter, is out on a date.

  COMMENTARY

This is an intelligently written story. It is about the past as much
as it is about the present. I think the author shifts back and forth
between the two, past and present, quite effectively.

Another technique that Mr. Pendragon employs is shifting the point of
view between Dan and Lori. Most of the story consists of flashbacks,
so by alternating the point of view between husband and wife, we get
to see not only how Dan remembers things, but also how Lori does.

If you are looking for stroke material then this might not be the
best choice. If you are looking for something more romantic then I
think you should enjoy this.

Rogue Review No. 315 (1) - February 19, 1999

The Needle and the Dungeon by MichaelD38

Part 1 of 3

F/M, F/F, Teen, BDSM

Length: 20,600 words

Rating: Excellent

Arousal Factor: High
Story Factor: Ultra

  SUMMARY

Ashley is curious about "deviant" sex. David has built a virtual
reality device. The device is designed specifically for sexual
experimentation. It allows Ashley try quite a few things out that
she would have been too afraid to try in real life.

  COMMENTARY

So far I really like this story. Whether the last two thirds of the
story are as good as the first one third is another matter.

I like both Ashley and David. Both seem to be seeking something
through experimenting with the virtual reality devices. Their lives
are incomplete. They need something more, but are not quite sure
where to find it. Then again, I might just be seeing things.

The supporting cast is just as well drawn as the main characters.
If I were to single out one of them, it would have to be Jasmine.
She is the artificial intelligence that runs David's virtual reality
machines. She is only a computer, but she exhibits some behaviors
that make her seem like more than just a machine.

Read the author's warning at the beginning of the story. It should
give you an idea if this is something that might squick you. I
highly recommend what I have read so far. It is entertaining,
arousing, and thought provoking. I cannot think of a better
combination. On the other hand I can accept that some people might
be revolted by some of the scenes in this story.

The Needle and the Dungeon by MichaelD38

Part 2 of 3

F/M, Teen, Caution

Length: 17,200 words

Rating: Very Good

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Ashley and David begin to develop a special relationship. Ashley
finally tells her parents about what she has been doing and where she
has been. Their reactions are not very supportive.

  COMMENTARY

There is more plot development in this part of the story than there
is anything else. There aren't any significant characters
introduced. Everything pretty much grows out of what MichaelD38 set
up in Part 1.

It does seem that in this segment the story shifts from one that is
solely about personal exploration and sexual experimentation, to one
that is also about two people growing together. Ashley is still the
focus of the story, but David seems to become an important part of
her life.

The Needle and the Dungeon by MichaelD38

Part 3 of 3

F/M, F/F, Teen, Caution

Length: 17,900 words

Rating: Excellent

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: High

  SUMMARY

Despite being pregnant and against David's wishes, Ashley attempts to
complete the most difficult virtual reality program that he has
built.

  COMMENTARY

This segment wraps up the loose ends that were left exposed at the
end of the last segment. While there are some arousing scenes, I
found this third of the story to be more like the second one than the
first. In other words it was not about sex, but about something
else. Part Two seemed to be about plot development. Part Three
seems to be about character development.

The Needle and the Dungeon by MichaelD38

Complete

F/M, F/F, Teen, Caution

Length: 55,800 words

Rating: Excellent

Arousal Factor: Average
Story Factor: Ultra

  COMMENTARY

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. To paraphrase what I said earlier
it is arousing, riveting, and touching. I was not aroused more than
I was riveted and touched, so I would have to say that if you are
looking for stroke material then you should look elsewhere.

One thing I really enjoyed about reading this story was visualizing
the various VR scenarios that Ashley was experiencing. Some had
horrific elements in them and some did not.

In the end this story is a romance of sorts. The more extreme
activities might frighten off some who like romance. If you are such
a person then I encourage you to attempt to read this story. It
about much more than just sex, and for that matter it is also about
more than just romance. At its heart I think this story is about
"coming of age" or growing up.
