She had a thermometer in one hand, and a tube of KY in the other. The RN evaluated her for signs of delirium, as she was feverish and hallucinating a bit. The nursing of delirium needs endless patience, tact, and understanding. Restraint shouldbe avoided. "Honey you're going to feel a little cold and a little pressure in your rectum." A tired Ashley lay motionless as Nurse slid her pink panties down.. She felt the nurse separate her buttocks and stretch them apart. The nurse'sfingers hunted for the rectum and slowly dabbed lubricant on the tender orifice. "Relax and take a deeeeeep breath for me." She needed all the help she could get. But before the nurse could read it, the slippery thermometer fell to the hard floor and was in a million pieces. Nurse helped Ashley up and took her by the hand to an empty bed. Pulling back the covers she tucked Ashley in and went to the cupboard. In popped the nurse holding a thermometer and a jar of vaseline. With a firm manner the sympathetic nurse sat on the bed and dipped the thermometer into the jar. "Alright lie across my lap."
