Hello, and welcome to the Aluminosilicate Reviews!
This is my attempt to fill a niche that I thought was fairly
empty: reviews motivated by the desire to find good stories and alert a
more general readership to their existence. This differs from other
reviews in that I don't care as much about reporting the existence of
bad stories; every story that I select to review is one that I picked
because I expected to like it.
This doesn't mean that there won't be negative reviews here; a
story won't get a good review that it didn't earn. But I think I'm
providing the most service to the ASS* community by emphasizing the
stories that captured my attention enough to get read, and by
concentrating on the ones that were a good return on the time given to
their reading.

"Japan's Girls Gymnastics Team," by "Gordie D.", reviewed by Antaeus

The title of this one does a good job of telling you what you're
in for. If you guessed that, by the end of this 250-line story, the
adult male narrator will have intercourse with one or more members of
Japan's Girls Gymnastics Team, give yourself a gold star. In fact,
we're introduced to three of these young Japanese gymnasts, and he has
his way with all three.
There's no downside for our hero, not at all. He doesn't have
to feel like a perv for coming up with the idea; it's the plan of their
female coach, who thinks it will improve their gymnastic performance.
(Sports medicine is coming up with some bizarre theories these days.)
The girls are willing to do anything to improve their performance, and
enjoy the experience so much they ask for more. He even gets to the
first one to be with any of the three of them, and speaking of Literary
Anatomical Oddities, did you know that extreme flexibility apparently
makes your hymen disappear?

In short, this story is the essence of sex fantasy. It doesn't
matter that the scenario is less plausible than the testimony of a
tobacco company executive; the scenario is only a device to let you
concentrate on the arousing parts and forget about dreary reality for a
time.
If Asian teenage gymnasts with "firm, tight, toned bodies" are a
turn-on for you, you'll probably enjoy this story.
And if you would be turned on by teenage gymnasts, but are
turned off by the reality that even teenagers who think they're mature
enough to handle sexual decisions aren't, consider checking this story
out anyways. This story's strong suit is that reality is far, far away.

"Geisha Schoolgirls," by "Gordie D.", reviewed by Antaeus Feldspar
After Gordon's previous story (reviewed above) I was hoping for
an eaually implausible turn-on story. Up until a certain point, this
story worked in that manner -- it's a series of circumstances beyond the
narrator's control that bring him up to the moment where he stands naked
and erect before two of his young female students (who are working as
geishas, hence the title of the story.)
In contrast to this author's previous story, however, the
narrator makes the decision at this point that sexual contact will
ensue. Which it does, and apparently it's a good time for everyone
involved. However, the fact that the girls are taking responsibility
for the act at the end of the story is disturbing, especially as it
relates to the realities of adult/teen sex, not kept at bay as
successfully in this story as in the last.
Believability aside, is it hot if you have a thing for teenage
girls, especially Japanese? I found it hot enough for me, but I
couldn't help noting that in some ASS* stories, including this one,
there will be a single point in the writing after which all the dirty
words flood out as though a dam had burst. It has the effect of a
sudden shift in tone, which may or may not affect your reading
experience. (I'm not shattering any illusions by pointing out that not
everyone reads sex stories for their tone.)

"Two Naughty Japanese Schoolgirls," by "Gordie D.", reviewed by Antaeus

I wish I could say that I enjoyed each one of "Gordie D."'s
stories more than the last. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
As noted in the two reviews above, there is room for stories
where plausibility is stretched to the screaming point, to give the main
character the hottest possible sex without any share of the
responsibility. And at the other extreme, it's possible to enjoy
stories where the main character does completely reprehensible things,
with no pretense or apology, if it gets them hot sex. (Though it's more
likely to be enjoyable if you can identify with the doer, rather than
with the done-to.)
But I personally have a problem with middle-of-the-road stories,
where characters do rotten things and try to justify them, often with
reference to the implausible circumstances that gave them the
opportunity. This is the case with "Two Naughty Japanese Schoolgirls,"
in which the main character is blackmailed into finding underage girls
and filming himself having sex with them. (Like no man could be found
who would do this for free?)
Even accepting that this is why he 'has' to have sex with
high-school girls, he moralizes about the very illusions he is
encouraging in them for his own purposes. The story ends on a
particularly hypocritical note, akin to a mugger congratulating himself
for having taught his victim about the danger of walking alone at night
through dark alleys.
If you can get past that, maybe you'll find the story hot; since
I couldn't, I can't really make any comment on that score.

"Tempting Amanda," by "Nikos Rovani," reviewed by Antaeus Feldspar
Oh boy! This story is extremely well-done erotic horror, with
several overlapping layers of reality. "It was all a dream" may be a
cop-out when it comes at the ending of a story, but in this story it's a
legitimate plot development, as it brings up the question of: whose
dream?
Amanda (of the title) is the author of a best-selling vampire
novel, being tormented by frightening, arousing dreams of creatures of
the night -- tormented partly because they stop too soon, leaving her
aroused but unsatisfied.
But are these dreams generated by her subconscious, trying to
break her out of a writers' block? Or are they a seduction game being
played by someone with power over her mind? And how much power is that?
Is it seduction... or compulsion?
I don't want to say more; I don't want to spoil the plot, which
is deftly done and can keep you guessing until the end. The science
fiction author Philip K. Dick specialized in stories where you could
never be sure what was reality, but unless I'm severely underestimating
his ouevre, he never wrote anything as sexually hot as this.
If I had panties, they would have been wet. This story is worth
checking out.

one-shot deal. It may be months before the next issue, or this could be
