Chapter 2: The Station

Tenel Ka awoke with a searing headache. She tentatively opened her eyes, then
blinked when she saw the swirling blue tunnel of Hyperspace spinning through
her scoutship's cockpit window. She rubbed her throbbing forehead with her
right hand, then gasped when she discovered a roughly humanoid mass of shadow
hovering near the co-pilot's chair.

*Have a nice rest?* inquired the shadow solicitously.

"What happened? What are you?"

*I'm Tamara. We met in my former prison on Yavin Four. I must thank you for
releasing me.*

"Goddess! I remember now! You took over my body! You made me kill that
little girl!"

*It was necessary. I need a host to travel about. I needed life energy to
replenish my strength. You provided both.*

"Keep away from me! Stay out of my body!" shouted Tenel Ka as she jumped out
of her flight chair and pressed herself against the far wall of the cockpit.

*You might as well accept the inevitable, sweet Tenel. We are linked now, our
spirits are forever entwined, we are one.*

"No! I don't believe you!"

*Foolish girl. I want to help you. I found your love, Jacen Solo. He's in a
nearby system, on a large space station used for trade. We're almost there
now.*

"Why do you want to find Jacen?"

*Because you love him. I know what it's like to love someone who doesn't want
you. Exar Kun was my lover, until he betrayed and imprisoned me in that cursed
temple. I want to help you find the love you want.*

"I don't want your help! Go away!"

*You don't mean that. I'm your friend. I'm going to make all your dreams
come true,*
murmured Tamara's shade before she flowed towards Tenel, engulfing the
screaming girl just as the scoutship entered Realspace.
"You brought my cargo just in time. Here is the bonus I promised you," said
the merchant as he laid a pouch of credit chips on the small round table. The
muscled cargo hauler smiled as he took the pouch, then nodded at the merchant
in acknowledgment.

"Let me know when you want some more work. I need dependable haulers for my
merchandise."

The cargo hauler nodded once before the merchant rose to his feet and left the
noisy bar. The hauler was counting his earnings when a tall, beautiful woman
with long, straight brown hair entered the establishment and sat across from
the large man.

"How much did we make?" asked Jaina.

"Five hundred. Not bad for such a short run," replied Jacen as he continued
recounting the gold-pressed chips.

"Do we have to take another job? I'd like to take a break for a little
while."

"Yeah, I guess we can. We really should practice and meditate for a few
days."

"I was thinking we could go to that pleasure planet two sectors from here,
with the long beaches and soothing baths," smiled Jaina as she reached forward
to clasp her brother's left hand.

"You'll forget everything Uncle Luke taught you if you keep playing around all
the time,"
admonished Jacen with a mock frown.

"I haven't forgotten everything. I can still project these illusions over
myself," whispered Jaina while she ran her hands over her mature woman's body.

"You still need to maintain your training, especially your lightsaber skills.
It's dangerous out here on the frontier in case you didn't notice."

"I know," sighed Jaina with upraised eyes. "Promise to give me a back rub
tonight and I'll practice with you for a bit."

"Alright," grinned Jacen with a quick squeeze of his hand over Jaina's.

"Hey! We've got a problem over there," hissed Jaina as she watched a black
armored figure enter the bar.

"It's Black Asp, isn't it?" whispered Jacen without looking over his shoulder.

"Yeah. It doesn't look like he's noticed us."

"The illusions should cover us. We better leave anyway, though."

"Good idea," murmured Jaina before she got up to lead the way outside. Jacen
followed his sister, glancing briefly to his right where Black Asp sat down
with two other scruff bounty hunters.

"Well, if it isn't the infamous Black Asp. I heard your last job didn't go
too well," laughed an ugly human male with an eye patch over the left side of
his face. To the left of the human was a tall, blaster scarred droid with a
long narrow head. Red glowing eye ports surrounded the droid's head, giving
him complete visual information of his surroundings.

"Grudd, IG-199," nodded Black Asp as he sat down wearily on a chair opposite
them. IG- 199 swivelled his main eye port to examine the armored bounty
hunter, then returned to his random scanning of the common area.

"So, what do you have lined up now?"

"Nothing. There haven't been a lot of job offers since those brats fucked up
my last assignment."

"Man, that sucks. Did you try the Empire? They always have work."

"Not yet. I heard that they're planning something big again. I don't want to
get caught up in that mess."

"I hear you, man. Those bastards never give up. Still, it means more work
for us," laughed Grudd before he took a long pull from a mug.

"I can't wait till I get my hands on those little shits, Jacen and Jaina. I'm
going to disintegrate their thin little bodies one appendage at a time!"

"Hey, don't damage the girl! I bet she's pretty sweet, if you get my
meaning," leered Grudd with a crude chuckle.

"You want to sample some sweet pussy, try Tenel Ka sometime. She was good and
tight."

"You fucked the royal daughter of the Hapes Cluster? Man, you're one lucky
son-of-a- bitch!" marveled Grudd enviously.

"It wasn't luck, it was skill."

"If you had skill, those Jedi kids wouldn't have killed your employer."

"That wasn't my fault! They surprised me, then they used those damn Jedi
powers on me."

"Uh huh," smiled Grudd before he took another drink.

"All talk, no shock," said IG-199 in his reverberating mechanical voice.

"What did you say, trash heap?" snarled Black Asp as his right weapon's arm
slowly rose up.

"Hey, take it easy, man! Iggy's just yanking your chain!" laughed Grudd
nervously.

Black Asp stared coldly at both bounty hunters, an uncomfortable silence
dropping between them, until a young girl in tight dragonskin armor entered the
bar. Black Asp turned negligently to observe the new arrival, then bit back a
gasp when he recognized the young woman.

"You know her?" asked Grudd, noticing the visored hunter's interest.

"Yeah, I do," replied Black Asp tersely just before he rose and stalked
forward towards the waiting girl. Tenel Ka caught sight of Black Asp
approaching her, then she smiled warmly as he drew close.

"I should kill you right here, bitch," growled Black Asp angrily.

"Without hearing my offer. I thought you needed work."

"Not from you. You're the one who ruined my reputation in this sector."

"It wasn't me, it was the Solo twins. I believe you had me completely under
your control."

"Yeah. I enjoyed fucking your tight little ass," snapped Asp.

"I enjoyed it too," whispered Tenel Ka huskily, rubbing her small hands over
Black Asp's breastplate.

"What's your game, bitch?"

"I want you to hunt down Jacen and Jaina. Do what you want with the little
whore, but I want Jacen alive, unharmed."

"How much are you paying?"

"Whatever you want. I am the heir to the Hapan throne."

"I'll take the job. But if this is a trick, I'll slit that pretty throat of
yours myself."

"It isn't a trick, you'll see," smiled Tenel Ka before she led the way outside
the bar. Black Asp cautiously followed the Jedi girl, arming his battle suit's
weapons, then unholstering a blaster rifle from the sheath on his right leg.
Tenel Ka waited patiently just outside the crowded bar, then pointed down the
long passageway of the station as Black Asp walked closer.

"There they are," said Tenel Ka before she used the Force to dispel Jacen and
Jaina's illusionary forms. The muscled freighter captain and his slim,
gorgeous female companion disappeared in a blur, replaced by the young bodies
of the Jedi twins. Instinctively, Black Asp raised his blaster rifle and fired
a long burst, killing several pedestrians along the shopping boulevard. Aliens
and humans screamed in panic while Asp sprinted forward, maintaining a steady
stream of fire at the two siblings.

"Men are so crude," murmured Tenel Ka as she used the Force to become
invisible.

Jacen and Jaina quickly ducked into a nearby alley, then they unhooked their
lightsabers, igniting them in unison.

"Looks like Asp caught up with us," frowned Jacen.

"Do we take him or run?"

"There are too many innocent people around here, let's try to find somewhere a
little more open."

"On a space station?"

"You have a better idea?"

"No."

"Then let's move!" said Jacen as he led the way down the alley, then left at
an intersection.
Black Asp appeared at the mouth of the alley, blaster rifle cradled in his
gloved hands, boot spurs jingling ominously. Asp used the sensor array built
into his helmet, he scanned the entire alley, then cursed when he didn't find
the twins. He carefully entered the alley, senses alert for the dangerous
young Jedi. Asp reached the intersection, then discovered the latent heat
prints of the twins on the metal deck plates. Smiling in cruel anticipation,
Black Asp followed the heat trail, his finger wrapped lovingly around his
weapon's trigger.

IG-199 walked to a comm terminal, then inserted a credit stick, activating the
device. The droid uploaded a contact address, then waited until the face of
Luke Skywalker appeared on the display.

"What have you discovered?"

"Jacen and Jaina are here. They pose as adult freight haulers."

"What about Tenel Ka? I believe she may be looking for them."

"She has hired Black Asp to capture Jacen and kill Jaina."

"Damn her. Very well. Continue to monitor their activities. I will be
arriving shortly."

"As you wish," nodded IG-199 before he cut off the transmission.

"Can you sense him?" asked Jacen as he led the way down a dimly lit passage,
his green lightsaber humming softly before him.

"No. I can't sense anybody, not even you."

"That's weird. Someone must be jamming us."

"Who could do that? Another Jedi?"

"Yeah. Maybe Uncle Luke sent somebody after us."

"Or Mom did."

"We'll just have to be careful," warned Jacen before he took another turn to
the right.

"Do you know where you're going?"

"Yeah. I'm trying to get us back to the docking area where we left the Shadow
Chaser."

"Won't Asp have the dock covered?"

"Not if he's working alone."

"Then who dispelled our illusions?"

"That's the funny part. I thought I saw Tenel Ka next to Asp just before he
started firing at us."

"She wouldn't help him."

"She might if Uncle Luke told her to."

"Tenel's our friend."

"She was. I don't know if I trust her now."

"Why?"

"It's a long story, it isn't important."

Before Jaina could probe further, Black Asp appeared at the mouth of the
passage behind them. The bounty hunter raised his left arm, then fired a round
projectile at the twins. Jacen raised a Force shield to protect them both,
just as the grenade fell to the deck and exploded. Fire and a great shock wave
roared forward, knocking both siblings off their feet and propelling them
backwards. Jacen and Jaina slid until they halted in the middle of another
intersection. Jacen coughed as smoke seared his lungs, then looked up quickly
at the swiftly approaching Asp, who fired another grenade in their direction.
Jacen shouted an incoherent alarm, then pushed Jaina into the right hand
passage. The grenade exploded in the middle of the intersection, knocking
Jaina deeper into the right side passage while it propelled Jacen into the
left. Jacen coughed again, then staggered to his feet. A puddle of flame lay
within the intersection, totally blocking Jacen from his sister. Jacen tried
to contact Jaina mentally, but the jamming field that blocked his sense scans
also blocked his telepathic link with his sister. Cursing under his breath,
Jacen gripped his lightsaber tighter, then ran down the passage he was trapped
in, hoping that he could rejoin his sister further down the network.

Black Asp strode confidently down the passage, flames reflected on his
polished black battle armor. He approached the pool of fire at the passage
intersection, then scanned the tunnels to the left and right. Asp smiled
within his helmet as he found a life indication within the right hand passage.
He walked calmly through the dying flames, then looked down at the floor, where
Jaina lay in an unconscious heap. Asp knelt down next to Jaina, taking in the
bleeding cut that marred her pale forehead. He removed manacles from one of
his belt pouches, then roughly pinned Jaina's arms behind her back before
fastening the bindings over her wrists. Asp withdrew a drug hypo, then pressed
it against Jaina's neck. Satisfied that his prize was drugged and helpless,
Black Asp picked up Jaina with both arms and carried her back the way he had
come.

Jacen traveled through the station's tunnels and conduits for hours, becoming
thirsty and ever more worried about his missing sister. Sweat made holding a
lightsaber more difficult, until finally Jacen extinguished the weapon,
allowing the tunnel's small overhead lights illuminate his path. Jacen walked
and walked, his thoughts becoming more bleak until he emerged into the docking
area where the Shadow Chaser awaited. Strangely, no one else was in the huge
round chamber. Circular docking hatches lined the entire outer wall, offering
access to several freighters and private star craft. The overhead lights were
turned low, giving the enormous room a red, evil glow. Jacen tried to reach
out with his Jedi senses, but they were still blocked by some unknown force.

"It's been awhile, Jacen. It's good to see you again."

Jacen ignited his lightsaber, spinning to face the speaker. He lowered his
weapon when he saw Tenel Ka reclining against a bulkhead, her right leg bent,
her red hair unbound, flowing down her graceful back.

"Tenel Ka! What are you doing here?" gasped Jacen before he turned off his
saber.

"I missed you. I just wanted to say hello."

"Have you seen Jaina? We got separated. Black Asp is hunting for us."

"I'm sure she's okay," smiled Tenel Ka reassuringly as she pushed away from
the wall and walked towards Jacen. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes, I missed you. I miss the Academy, Uncle Luke, and all our friends."

"I think about you every day. I dream that we're together, always," whispered
Tenel, her slim arms wrapping around Jacen's neck.

"Tenel, we talked about this. I love Jaina."

"Can't you love me too? Can't we be together, just for a moment?"

"No, I won't betray Jaina."

"How noble! The loving brother loyal to his beautiful sister, fucking her
against his family's wishes, enduring exile just to be together in a taboo
union!" spat Tenel before she slapped Jacen across the left cheek.

"I don't have time to argue with you! I have to find Jaina!" snarled Jacen
with a shove, breaking away from Tenel Ka.

"You won't find her," murmured Tenel with a smug grin. "I've taken care of
that."

"What do you mean?" growled Jacen, grasping Tenel roughly by the shoulders.

"I hired Black Asp to hunt you both. He found Jaina unconscious in one of the
station's passageways. He's taken her away, forever."

"You fucking bitch!" roared Jacen, his right hand wrapping around Tenel Ka's
throat.

"I like it when you're rough with me," smiled Tenel Ka mockingly.

Jacen slapped Tenel Ka across the face, then pushed her onto the cold station
deck. Tenel Ka remained on the floor, her legs curled under her, her face
upraised defiantly at Jacen.

"What are you going to do? Beat me to death? Will that bring your precious
Jaina back?"

"Shut up!" spat Jacen, his lightsaber springing to life, the glowing tip a
millimeter from Tenel's chin.

"Go ahead, give in to the Dark Side," purred Tenel Ka, her eyes smoldering
with lust.

"I've got more important things to do," said Jacen coldly before he
extinguished his lightsaber and turned towards the Shadow Chaser's docking
port.

Tenel Ka rose smoothly to her feet, then removed her dragonskin tunic.

"Don't go. Stay with me, punish me for my crimes."

Jacen turned to retort, then gasped softly, staring at Tenel Ka's bare
breasts. She inhaled deeply, making them even fuller and more inviting. The
brown nipples were hard, jutting out, begging to be bit and nibbled on.
Tenel's tanned skin was smooth and beautiful, Jacen could imagine how soft it
would be, how warm it would feel under his touch.

"Take me, Jacen. Fuck me until you forget about Jaina. I love you, I'll love
you forever."

"I don't love you, Tenel. You're different now, you're not the girl I trained
with at the Academy. I could never love what you are now," replied Jacen. He
cycled the docking hatch open, then disappeared inside before the door slid
shut behind him.

Tenel casually pulled her tunic back on as she walked to a nearby window. She
watched as the grey, sleek Shadow Chaser uncoupled from the station and turned
hard to starboard. The ship's engine ports flared deep blue, propelling the
ship away until it disappeared into the starry
night.

"You won't escape me like Exar did. You will be mine," swore Tenel Ka
vehemently.
