A man comforts a girl who always chooses the wrong men, and she has sex with him as a way of saying "thank you," with no strings attached. Not something I would do, but it could happen. The piece was written in an OK manner--I wasn't knocked out--but the author could have delved into the characters' motivations more. I am also amazed at the low quality of stories available on the internet, of which this is one. Some people just don't have a writing bone in their body, and this author is one of them. It may be me, but the story gets a big minus for the plebian nature of its subject matter: the adventures of a 13-year-old eighth grader (rather womanishly described as: "She was just so gorgeous, with her long wavy, blond hair, perfect complexion, long legs, and pert, not too big breasts") who hangs out at the mall. The heroine is into older guys in a big way but is also mysteriously attracted to another 13-year-old girl, a redhead with a fowl mouth and bad-girl manners. Both girls have a nicotine fetish--they're always smoking and masturbating in poorly written scenes--and they chug-a-lug beer as well; obviously their parents are living on Mars to not notice all of these goings- on. But the main fault of the story is that these supposed teenagers don't act the least bit like teenagers, coming across instead like adult women--dykes--in teenager clothes. It wasn't convincing and I didn't believe any of it for one second. Then there's the inexcusable line uttered by one of the girls: "I'm gonna blow my wad" which is something only creatures with a penis do, unless it's a common expression in the lesbian community. This story was very, very bad. The poster stated: "The author never finished this story, it would be great if someone continued it, or wrote other stories about teen lesbian smokers." Address: dimitri_resides@hotmail.com Here's another multichapter superhero story in which the theme of sex in spandex is handled a lot better than last review's abysmal "Fantastic Forum." It must have been written by someone who lives, breathes, and eats comics, for everyone and anyone is represented: Green Lantern, Wonderwoman, Thor, Moondragon, Batman, etc. with their superpowers and modes of fighting described to a T. The large cast made the story somewhat confusing, not to mention all the parallel universes, but that's the nature of comics. Having illustrations probably helps on this count. Anyway, the premise of the story is that a superior being pits the superheroes of the Avengers, who are from one alternate universe, against the Justice League of America, who are from the other, with the loser's universe being destroyed. So they duke it out on the battlefield and in the bedroom, with some pleasant, well-written, superhero sex of the perennially popular M/F and F/F varieties. About that F/F sex. I've noticed, that with few exceptions, it's pretty easy to guess at the gender of a writer by how they depict these same-sex encounters. The acts are the same, but the circumstances and writing styles differ between straight men, straight woman, and bi/gay women, as the depictions of M/M sex differ between straight women, straight men, and bi/gay men. The Adventures of Ultra Woman and Mega Girl [A+] Where posted: ASS, ASSM When posted: 10/7/98 Author: Ann Douglas Address: annd@pop.tiac.net Ann Douglas has begun writing again after a long siesta, and returns with this story about comic book heroes set in the comic book publishing world. Jackie Kirby (a tongue-in-cheek reference to Jack Kirby, a prolific comic artist and writer of the 1960s who created superheroes such as the X-Men and Fantastic Four) is running her uncle's comic house when she meets an aspiring 19 year old artist named Jo. Jackie is impressed with Jo's artwork and hires her to produce a new superhero series, Ultra Woman and Mega Girl. One day, while rifling through Jo's drawers, Jackie discovers some pictures of Ultra Woman and Mega Girl doing things you'd never see in a comic book. She concludes, correctly, that Jo has a lesbian crush on her, and things proceed from there, concluding at a comic convention where the two declare their passion dressed as the superheroes in question. What makes this story so interesting is the author's knowledge of the field and comic publishing world, including the way the rise of the internet has affected it. But apart from that, it's a very sweet, yet explicit, love story in which emotions are involved as well as genitals. I'm pretty sure the author is a woman. Pretty. Sure. Stroke Story, Parts 1, 2, 3 [A-/B+] Where posted: ASS, ASSM When posted: 9/29/98 Author: MichaelD Address: MichaelD38 Website: www.geocities.com/SoHo/Workshop/4013 There has been a debate raging in recent months about the merits of "literary" porn--that with a plot and characters--vs. stroke porn, in which the characters--bodies, actually--simply fuck. Both types get the job done. However, you can read only so many stroke stories before they repetitive, as there's only so many ways to do it, even with the addition of extra partners or toys. Pussies get stroked. Cocks get hard. Assholes get lubed. Etcetera. In this story, I think the author was trying to write a stroke story within a context, and he partly succeeds. The narrator is a Hollywood movie star who never goes hungry for pussy, as women melt at the remotest sign he is interested in him, and they gladly fuck their female friends as well to provide an additional show. This goes on for three chapters. As stroke, this story was very good--lots of mindless sex. However, one had to wade through the story to get to the sex, and most of the story, though written competently, wasn't interesting-- descriptions of Hollywood movie people and the mundane conversations they have. For this reason, I can't give it a higher grade than an A-, as stroke porn, by its nature, should be blunt and to the point. The author also missed a prime opportunity to blast the Hollywood scene with some vicious satire, perhaps parodying the narrator's on-the-make mentality; the story took itself way more seriously than it should.
