The "Grudgingly Good" rating indicates that I think the story is well written, but that I find some of the elements in the story so disturbing that if I were to review the story based solely on my personal tastes I would give it a "Not Good" rating. The "Not Good" rating indicates that I do not like the story. ***** REVIEWS ----- No. 151 - August 17, 1998 Sunset on Roses by MichaelD M/F, Teen Length: 19,900 words SUMMARY Michael and Tracey, ages 32 and 17 respectively, meet and fall in love during the summer before Tracey's senior year of high school. COMMENTARY This a nice, romantic story that happens to have some sex in it. I like both of the characters. They seem real and they are given real problems to deal with in this story. The plot is well constructed. It moves along at a nice pace. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This is a well written, arousing, sex story. What more could I ask for? The plot is well paced. The sex does not dominate the story. I like the characters. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This story is well written and arousing, but at the same time it is a bit confusing. The majority of the story is dialogue. There are places where the conversation switches from one topic to the other, without any clear delineations. I find this distracting, at least in this case. JUDGMENT This is a very good story. COMMENTARY This is an arousing story. This is a well written story. It is broken into three parts. I like the first part best. It has the best balance between sex, on the one hand, and plot and character development, on the other. JUDGMENT This is a very good story. COMMENTARY This story is a bit too mysterious for my tastes. The author builds up to a scene which ends up being somewhat anti-climactic. This is not a happy story. I was a bit aroused, at first, but did not find this story, on the whole, arousing. It is well written and well edited. JUDGMENT This is a good story, but I feel that the author could have been a little more generous when it comes to filling in the details. COMMENTARY This is a well written piece. I can sense the turmoil that Rachelle experiences in this story. I like this story, but it is a bit short. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, but I wish there was more to it. Girl cancels, but suggests that boy take her mother instead. COMMENTARY The author puts some effort into setting the scene. This is a well written stroke story. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, but it is a stroke story. What Paul does not know is that because of a curse, Rachel exchanges bodies with whomever she has sexual contact with. COMMENTARY The writing is a bit stilted and terse, but I like the pacing and the plot. I also like the subject matter. The author deals with the issue of sexual attraction after a sex-change, in a semi-serious sort of way. There is more to this story than just sex. Even though these are only the first five chapters of a longer work, there is a certain amount of closure within them. I look forward to reading the rest of the story. There are a number of missing words and grammatical errors in these five chapters. Hopefully the author will re-edit these chapters and repost them when he releases the final chapters. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, but it needs to be re-edited. They have fun that afternoon, with their clothes on. Cat contacts Brian a few days later. A couple days after that they go out on a date. COMMENTARY This is a nice, light, romantic story. I like the characters and I think the author did a good job with the plot. I would have liked the story better if not for the need for editing. There were many places where words were missing, or left uncapitalized. This story is rough around the edges but, putting aside the rough edges, I like it a lot. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, and it would be an excellent one if not for the fact that it needs to be edited. F-solo Length: 5,000 words SUMMARY Jake bets Lisa that she cannot go for a week without pleasuring herself. Lisa does her utmost to prove him wrong. COMMENTARY This is an arousing story. I like both the idea behind it and the execution. I like the way the author shows us how Lisa deals with her "ordeal". Considering the length of the story, it would have been nice if there was more to it than just the bet. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, but there is not much to it, other than the bet between Lisa and Jake.
