I only review stories I have not read before. ***** OUTSTANDING REVIEWS No. 113 - July 21, 1998 A View of Alcatraz by Anne Arbor F/M/F, F/M/M Length: 5,800 words SUMMARY Anne fondly reflects on threesomes with her husband, Jed. COMMENTARY This is a very well written story. The author obviously knows what she is doing and took the time to edit. I cannot find any faults with this story. The author devotes a good deal of the story to sex, but the sex takes place in a larger context. I did find the sex arousing. I liked the turn the story took towards the end. I know that Alcatraz is in San Francisco Bay and this story takes place in Berkeley, but other than that I am a bit confused by the title. What does it refer to? The story does seem to indicate that Anne feels a bit trapped by her husband's promiscuous behavior. Is this the connection? JUDGMENT This is an outstanding story. This is a review of the whole story, not just the last five parts. SUMMARY Beautiful-used-to-be-a-tomboy-Amy, the 17-year-old baby-sitter, resurrects Mike and Sarah's marriage by jumping into bed with them. COMMENTARY This story is well paced. I like the three main characters. They all display a range of emotions. They seem believable. I like the way the author writes sex scenes. He does not go overboard describing exactly how Mike's cock fits into Sarah's mouth, but just says that it does and then gets on with the story. He spends considerably more time building up to the sex, than he does actually describing it. This story is very arousing. It is a very well written and well edited story. JUDGMENT This is an outstanding story. SUMMARY Mad, passionate affairs definitely have their appeal. A one day layover turns into a one day whirlwind romance. COMMENTARY This is a well written story. It is very well paced. The sex is passionate. The author does not mince words. The author does not rush the story. There are some references to other authors in here. I did not understand them all. They did not interfere with my enjoyment of this story. I do have one bone to pick with Sandman/BitBard. He refers to the Divinyls as an eighties band. I can clearly remember listening to "I Touch Myself" over and over again, on the juke box at a club I used to go to, back in '92. Maybe he meant that the sort of music they played was more eighties-ish? This story is a lot of fun. JUDGMENT This is an outstanding story. COMMENTARY I found this story very arousing. There is a sudden shift in the tone and direction of the story. It works. I liked the twist at the end. The narrator's descriptions convey both how the narrator feels and what he sees. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This is a very short, very funny story. I missed some of the clues and did not realize what was going on until the end. The author did a great job with the narrator's descriptions and tone. Believe it or not, in 500 words the author actually does convey a plot. He also does give the reader a feel for the mindset of the narrator. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. SUMMARY After a night of wild sex Georgetta decides she needs a little more. COMMENTARY I advise reading the first six chapters before reading these three. The slow and cautious pace works. Chapters seven through nine are all build up. There is no real release. While I am eager to see how the author will continue or conclude this story, I am satisfied with these three chapters. I found them very arousing. Chris, Georgetta's boyfriend, plays a less prominent role in these three chapters. I found his reaction, to her machinations, amusing. The pace and tone of this story are its strengths. JUDGMENT This was an excellent story. COMMENTARY This story was well paced. The author takes his time, and allows the relationship to grow, rather than forcing it. There is some reluctance on Suzette's part. I think this makes the story more realistic and enjoyable. Suzette and Jack seem to connect, first on both a personal level and then on a sexual one. Their mutual attraction is not based on the size of his cock or of her breasts. This story has both plot and characterization. It does not come on too strong or too fast, but slowly and gently pulls the reader in with its descriptions. There is a lot more to this story than just sex. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This story might squick some people. It mixes sex, religion, and death. It did not bother me. I like the way the woman keeps calling the narrator "Mr. Mysterious". I found this story very arousing. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This is a very well written story. It is well paced and well plotted. The characters seem real, although they are not complex or dynamic. I could not find any awkward sentences or misspelled words. Maybe some of the paragraphs could have been broken into smaller ones. This is basically a stroke story, but the author obviously put quite a bit of effort into it. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This story is a lot of fun. It takes it's time. There is plenty of humor. The sex is hot. The story had a very nice feel to it. I liked all the characters. They complemented each other quite well. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY I thought this was a very well written story. It does not have an "And They Lived Happily Ever After" ending. It did not seem like rape or pedophilia, despite what some courts might say. This story is well paced. John shows some hesitation. The sex takes up only a fraction of the text. The purpose of the story was to tell about a sexual encounter between the narrator and a sixteen-year-old neighbor, but there is more to this story than just that. It would have been nice if the narrator could have worked in a little bit more about his own life. I think it would have helped to balance the story out a little more. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This is a well written story with a twist towards the end. Considering its length I thought it was well paced. The author did a good job of describing the sex. The narrator did not linger too long on any one thing. I felt drawn in. The story is a bit limited in its scope. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This story is short, but sweet. It is well paced. There is a little bit of build up, before the sex. The character's are not very deep and there is not much to the plot, but I enjoyed this story thoroughly. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY I like the way the author partitioned off this story. The first part sets up the rest of story nicely. The characters seemed realistic, but not necessarily very deep. The plot is simple enough. The author's descriptions are what make this story worth the read. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY I like how the author sets out clearly what does not happen in this story. It fed my interest; I desperately wanted to see what did happen. I was not disappointed. The plot is fairly simple, but I enjoyed watching it unfold. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story.
