The "Grudgingly Good" rating indicates that I think the story is well written, but that I find some of the elements in the story so disturbing that if I were to review the story based solely on my personal tastes I would give it a "Not Good" rating. The "Not Good" rating indicates that I do not like the story. ***** REVIEWS No. 112 - July 20, 1998 Attacked by Silk Gloves by Redheaded Composer TG, Transform, Magic, F/M, NC Length: 17,800 words COMMENTARY I do not really care for this story. That should not be surprising, since I do not care for non-consensual sex. Somehow I overlooked part of the story codes. Narf! The non-consensual sex is a gimmick. It allows the author to further the plot, without having the main character face a personal crisis. Without a personal crisis or dilemma, it seems like rape to me. The end of the story seems to indicate that the author does not condone non-consensual sex. There is no obvious indication of this until the end. If Paul had some choice in becoming a woman, I might be able to enjoy this story. Despite the fact that I do not care for this story, I can tell that the author did put quite a bit of effort into editing it. There are few if any misspelled words and the grammar seems flawless. If non-consensual stories are your cup of tea, then you might enjoy this story. If you do not care for NC stories, then I advise you do not bother with this one. JUDGMENT This is a not good story, but it is well edited. COMMENTARY This is a very well written story. The author obviously knows what she is doing and took the time to edit. I cannot find any faults with this story. The author devotes a good deal of the story to sex, but the sex takes place in a larger context. I did find the sex arousing. I liked the turn the story took towards the end. I know that Alcatraz is in San Francisco Bay and this story takes place in Berkeley, but other than that I am a bit confused by the title. What does it refer to? The story does seem to indicate that Anne feels a bit trapped by her husband's promiscuous behavior. Is this the connection? JUDGMENT This is an outstanding story. This is a review of the whole story, not just the last five parts. SUMMARY Beautiful-used-to-be-a-tomboy-Amy, the 17-year-old baby-sitter, resurrects Mike and Sarah's marriage by jumping into bed with them. COMMENTARY This story is well paced. I like the three main characters. They all display a range of emotions. They seem believable. I like the way the author writes sex scenes. He does not go overboard describing exactly how Mike's cock fits into Sarah's mouth, but just says that it does and then gets on with the story. He spends considerably more time building up to the sex, than he does actually describing it. This story is very arousing. It is a very well written and well edited story. JUDGMENT This is an outstanding story. COMMENTARY This is a well written, well edited, well paced story. The focus is on getting to the sex and not the sex itself. It is a stroke story. I liked the dialogue. It might have moved a little too fast, but the author did a good job, considering the pace it took. JUDGMENT This is a very good story. COMMENTARY This is a good story with a sad twist at the end. I like the author's descriptions and the way he moves from one episode to another. The story flows very nicely. JUDGMENT This is a very good story. COMMENTARY This is not a story. This is a letter from Taria to her fans and friends. It is a well written letter. If you have enjoyed her writing, as I have, then you might want to read this. COMMENTARY This story went a little over my head. It is very well written, but I could not follow all of it. There were quite a few biblical references. Aside from the easy ones, like the Garden of Eden and Job, I felt lost. It was also not clear to me why there was sex in this story. How was sex necessary to the plot? Is that the irony of the story? That in order to be forgiven Lucifer had to experience "loving" sex? I liked the characters and plot, even though I could not completely understand them. This is due in large part to the splendid job the author did writing and editing this story. JUDGMENT This is a very good story, but I found it a bit hard to follow all of the references. COMMENTARY This is a well written story. There are no misspelled words or careless grammatical errors. It has a plot. The characters seem realistic. I am disappointed with the ending; it is anti-climactic. The author introduces the reader to Chet and Dave, but does not include them in the denouement. Natasha plays a pivotal role in the story, but the most the reader is told about her is what she looks like. I do not think this is a bad story, but I feel a little let down. JUDGMENT This is a good story, but the ending leaves something to be desired. COMMENTARY I thought this was a very well written story. It does not have an "And They Lived Happily Ever After" ending. It did not seem like rape or pedophilia, despite what some courts might say. This story is well paced. John shows some hesitation. The sex takes up only a fraction of the text. The purpose of the story was to tell about a sexual encounter between the narrator and a sixteen-year-old neighbor, but there is more to this story than just that. It would have been nice if the narrator could have worked in a little bit more about his own life. I think it would have helped to balance the story out a little more. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story. COMMENTARY This is a well written story with a twist towards the end. Considering its length I thought it was well paced. The author did a good job of describing the sex. The narrator did not linger too long on any one thing. I felt drawn in. The story is a bit limited in its scope. JUDGMENT This is an excellent story.
