Special announcement.
I am changing several policies on these reposts, more or less
simultaneously.
I am dropping back from five a day to four a day as the standard
reposting rate.
There are several reasons for this, but the final one is that there
have been some problems with propagation. Several other authors have had
the same difficulty with ASSM and Dejanews, so the problem may be connected
to one of those institutions. Whatever the reason, I had more posts
missing in the seventh week than in the first five all together. That
means that I must both post more replacements and spend time checking on
the posts.
It also means that I am pushing my quota. Between posting five files
a day, posting replacements for the missing files, posting requests to
authors, sending stories to authors for checking and getting revised
stories back, the traffic is close to the limit. Once I go over that
limit, I don't get mail which can be permission to post a story.
However, I will try to fit all the segments of a mid-length story into
a single day. This Wednesday, for example, I'm posting a five-segment
story.
I am also raising the size limit of single segments. So those who
suddenly see my stories ending in mid-sentence (or with anything else than
"-30-" should let me know. I have heard that some readers can't get beyond
30 K, but I don't know that for a fact.
