The Cobbler's Bench - A Nasty Girl Story (Happy New Year 1996 !)

The Cobbler's Bench

by Dafney Dewitt Copyright (C) 1996

"Love is not a potato. You can't throw it out the window."
 -old Russian proverb
____________________________________________________________

"The weasel is missing," Melinda tells Laurie with a sad face. In her
hurry to arrive on time, Laurie isn't wearing panties under her dress. She sits
down carefully next to the three year
old girl pretending an interest she doesn't have so Melinda doesn't duck under
her dress and discover the secret.
Distracted by her personal problem, Laurie thinks Melinda is talking about
the hidden clown inside the toy box so she hums along to the music Melinda makes
by turning the crank.
     "Da, da-da, la da dede-dum"
     "La, la-la-la, la"
     "Pop-Goes-The-Weasel !"
     Melinda frowns at Laurie.
"Don't you know the words ?"
"Well, ... I may have forgotten them," answers Laurie truthfully.
     "It goes like this."
Melinda pushes the clown back into the box and starts cranking again
singing the words in her small soprano child's voice.
"A penny for a spool of thread
           a nickel for a needle.
That's the way the money goes,,
           Pop Goes the Weasel !
           All around the cobbler's bench
           the monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey thought it 'twas all
           in fun until...
                    Pop Goes The Weasel !"

Vaguely, remembering the words while trying to regain some lost ground
against the tiny three year old, Laurie says, "Isn't it 'All around the Mulberry
Bush' instead of around
the 'Cobbler's Bench' ?"
With a very serious expression, Melinda shakes her head. "No! I know all
about weasels."
Emerging from the kitchen, Melinda's mom, Jackie, interrupts. "Melinda
knows all about weasels because we have a pet ferret," Jackie tells Laurie,
"However, it seems to be missing."
"I don't know anything about weasels," admits Laurie
"Well, just remember to keep the kitchen door closed. I think it's in
there," says Jackie giving Melinda a pat on the bottom.
"It's bed time pumpkin. Give Laurie a good night hug and off we go."
     Just then the doorbell rings.
"Would you get the door Laurie," asks Jackie "while I put the weasel to bed
?"
Jackie carries her daughter Melinda off to bed while Laurie opens the door
for Donna and Lois. This is girl's night out, but at the last moment Jackie's
babysitter canceled so they decided to all meet at Jackie's apartment.

Using candles is Jackie's idea. As Laurie, Donna, Lois, and Jackie all sit
around the dining room table illuminated only by the flickering of the candles,
it creates just the right ambiance.
for playing Truth or Dare. It will be a night for telling stories. The rules
of the game are simple. Each of the women will try to tell the scariest, sexiest
story that they can. The others have
to guess if the story is True or just a Daring Lie. Whoever tells the scariest,
sexiest story that is believed to be true will win.
The only other rule is that there are no other rules. Everything is fair
game. The winner can do anything to win.
As the hostess, Jackie will tell the first story. Before she begins, Donna
volunteers to search the kitchen to catch the weasel.
"That could be dangerous," answers Jackie.
"Give me a break. A weasel is smaller then a cat," says Donna.
"Yeah, but weasels have extremely sharp teeth," adds Lois.
"She's right," says Jackie. "Weasels like to burrow into very small dark
holes. If you pull on their tails, they may bite. Many pet owners have had
their fingers bitten to the bone and nearly amputated."
Getting into the spirit of Truth or Dare, Jackie continues.
"During World War II, weasels or ferrets to be more exact, were used by the
Japanese as instruments of torture. Captured prisoners of war had small cages
strapped to their bare belly's containing unfed, almost starved ferrets. If the
prisoner failed to cooperate, they would simply
lift the door separating the ferret from the exposed skin of the prisoner.
Ferrets have a well developed sense of smell and immediately recognized the
foreigners belly's were not those of their familiar Japanese keepers. Out of
sheer fear of being bitten, the prisoners themselves would agitate the ferret
into attacking. Disturbed by the movements of the prisoners, the ferret would
use its razor sharp teeth to dig a hole right through the victims looking for an
escape. The
screams were terrible. So I say, always leave a contented weasel alone."
     "Whew! Pretty gruesome!" says Laurie.
"Truth or Dare !" yells Donna.
"According to the pet shop owner, it's Truth" answers Jackie. "But that's
not my Truth or Dare Story."
"Ok, lets start," agrees Lois anxious to escape this gruesome topic.
"Hang on, here we go," says Jackie pouring some cream into her coffee.
"Last Saturday, I was at the laundromat doing laundry. It's about two in the
afternoon, when a tall unshaven man walks in wearing a dirty white undershirt
and carrying a large plastic garbage bag. Fortunately, my clothes have already
been washed, and are in the dryers. I swear to you, this guy is real creepy
looking and starts giving me the eye. He was trying to undress me with his
eyes. A certified pervert. Anyway, I happen to be drying some lingerie on
fluff cycle. I'm watching a pair of crotchless red panties spin in circles when
the tall creep walks past between me and the dryer. Without warning, the dryer
stops. I'm out of quarters. The coin machine is broken as usual. So I walk
across the street to the 7-Eleven Store for change. The clerk is a jerk and I
end up buying a pack of Wrigley's Chewing Gum just to get change. When I return,
my blood runs cold. The crotchless red panties are not in the dryer. I open
the dryer door to double check. They are
definitely not there. The creep is watching me from behind a bank of washing
machines. What should I do ? Should I pretend there's no problem ? Should I
try to confront him ? Or should I just get the hell out of there ? While I'm
considering all this, I notice the creep's reflection in the door of the dryer.
I open the door to a different angle, using it like a mirror and notice the
creep's right hand, out-of-sight, below his waist moving back and forth like
he's masturbating. Can you believe it ? Two thirty in the afternoon, broad
daylight and this male creep starts stroking his trouser snake. As fast as
possible without appearing to be in a panic, I gather all my laundry
together without folding it and leave. Later, at home while I'm folding, I
discover the crotchless panties stuck inside my nylon slip. It was all just a
case a static cling."
     "Truth or Dare!" shouts Jackie.
"Truth!" says Lois, the most gullible in the group.
"Dare!" says Donna, who never believes anything.
"Dare!" says Laurie, the pragmatist who can't believe Jackie even owns a
pair of crotchless red panties but if she did would surely clean them and hang
them up to dry in the privacy of her
own bathroom.
The answers are recorded on a score sheet and everyone gets ready for Donna
to tell her story.
"Ok," begins Donna, "It was last Friday evening and I'm waiting in the
lobby of the Ramada Inn Hotel at the airport for my dinner date. Next to me is
this bank of courtesy telephones and taxi telephones. One of the pay telephones
starts ringing. I consider answering it, but don't and it stops. A few minutes
later, it starts ringing again. Curiosity gets the better of me and I pick up
the telephone. A man's voice is at the other end. He doesn't say hello, or ask
who is answering, he just starts talking like he knows who I am."
While Donna talks, Jackie looks over at Laurie noticing her give an
involuntary shudder. "Wow," thinks Jackie, "Laurie really gets into these Truth
or Dare Sessions. She really gets off on them."
He starts asking me casual questions like which T.V. shows I watch and what
are my favorite foods. I tell him I like watching "Steinfeld" while snacking on
French Onion Potato Chips. Then he starts getting even more personal by asking
if I'm wearing panties."
Lois can't help but notice as Laurie gives a small shiver of excitement.
"Instead of answering, I ask him if this is one of those random obscene
phone calls. What he tells me next literally freezes me to the bone. I swear to
you, I was scared stiff. He starts describing my dark blue flowered dress and
white blouse with the big bow in front. He goes on
to say I'm blond with my hair gathered into a pony tail. I immediately start
looking around the vast lobby of the Ramada Inn at the other telephone booths
trying to find out who was watching me. While I'm doing this, the man starts
saying some really crude things about my anatomy and what he'd like to do with
it when my date arrived. I hang up the phone. The call has gotten me so upset
that I've lost my appetite. I whisper a suggestion into my date's ear, we skip
dinner, go
right to his apartment, and have some of the hottest, best sex ever."
"Truth!" says Laurie who appears visibly shaken by the story.
"Dare!" shouts Lois disappointed that Donna didn't share all the juicy
little details of her alleged hot evening.
"Dare!" shouts Jackie who couldn't believe anyone would pass up a free
dinner.
The answers are written down and it is Lois's turn.
"I'm in this lobby of an older building. It's on the rough side of town
over by Commerical Boulevard. I'm here for an appointment with a life insurance
salesman who promises to set me up with a good 401-K retirement plan. The lobby
is empty and I'm waiting for an elevator. When one arrives, it is just as empty
as the lobby. I get in and the door close. Just before the doors close all the
way, a black hand appears forcing them open. Three black teenagers get into the
elevator. They're all dressed in blue jeans and old sweat shirts. They don't
look like they have any business even being there."
Donna notices the Laurie's hand is trembling as she stirs sugar into her
coffee. "Wow, she really gets involved in these stories," she thinks to herself
and feels some of Laurie's excitement pass on to her.
"Right then and there, I considered stepping off the elevator and leaving.
One of the teenagers pushes the close door button and I'm trapped. None of them
talk to me. They act like I'm not even in the elevator. One of them takes a
large black comb out his back pocket and starts running it through his kinky
black hair. He looks right through me as if he were looking in a mirror and
says, "Hmm, looks pretty good." By this time, I'm visibly shaking. I can't
control it. The other two teenagers join in with more comments. "Looks all
right to me." The third one chimes in "Maybe we should get closer". My heart
is pounding so hard by the time the elevator arrives at my floor that I'm afraid
of having a heart attack. I forget all about my appointment and take another
elevator down to escape that building as fast as I can. I felt dirty like I'd
just been raped with all my clothes on, but no one even touched me."
"Truth!" says Laurie immediately apparently unable to contain herself.
"Truth!" says Jackie who never has liked blacks.
"Dare!" says Donna who just can't believe anyone as young as Lois would be
setting up a retirement plan.
     The answers are recorded.
"Ok," Jackie says, "Now it's your turn Laurie".
Laurie begins her story with a question and a request, "What do weasels
like to eat best ?"
Jackie answers "Oh, that's simple. Just like cats, they love lapping up a
fresh saucer of milk."
"Would you please put a small saucer of milk next to me on the floor ?"
says Laurie in a serious but calm tone.
All three women are mystified by this request, but Lois pours out some
cream into her coffee saucer and Donna places it on the floor.
Within minutes, the weasel appears like magic and is lapping up the cream.
     Jackie is astonished.
"How did you know the weasel was in the Dinning Room ?"
In response, Laurie rises from the table and turns to get her coat. As
she turns without speaking, the dark wet spot on the rear of her dress is
plainly visible even in the flickering candle light.
As the eyes of the three women remaining at the table meet, they realize
Laurie is leaving because she has already told the best, scariest, and sexiest
story of them all.
