Here are the original reviews in alphabetical order:
"The Beaver Meets Mr. Ed" by Unknown Author (Red Dragon Repost). The gist of
this story can be summarized in the following cryptic conversation:
"Wh-, What are we gonna do, Wally?"
Wally stared thoughtfully at the corpse.
"Aw, Beave, I don't know", he said timidly, "I mean we can't just go and tell
Mrs. Mondello that her son got raped to death by a rabid horse at the
circus!"
This story reads just like a sexually-enhanced episode of "Leave It to
Beaver." Of course, it's not very realistic, because that show didn't have a
talking horse, nor did the fathers of Mayfield usually punish their children
by sodomizing them. Such considerations aside, this is a really funny story.
It even includes this gem near the end:
"You look fine, Beave, but just don't breathe on Mom. You've got horse cum
on your breath."
"Bewitched: Long Lost Marilyn" by Shelby Bush (stbush@iglou.com). In my very
young childhood I watched a sitcom called "Bewitched," which told the story
of Samantha, a lovely witch who married Darrin Stephens without telling him
of her special powers. Those powers -- and Darrin's strange in-laws --
became evident shortly after their wedding. The stories usually revolved
around Samantha resolving not to use her witchcraft, then Darrin ending up in
a jam (because of some stupid action on his part or a practical joke on the
part of one of Samantha's relatives), and Samantha coming to the rescue.
Like Samantha, I too had a secret when I married my husband - my fondness
for this sitcom. However, when I disclosed my aberration to my husband
shortly after he deflowered me, we discovered that it was actually a mutual
weakness. Let's just say that thanks to Nick at Night, my husband no longer
has to whack off to Elizabeth Montgomery alone.
I was initially frustrated to discover that this story is not a
straightforward parody of "Bewitched" episode. Rather, it combines that
sitcom with elements of "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family." {This same
author has posted parodies of both of those shows, and perhaps he'll repost
them in connection with this story.} But then I discovered that the story
stood pretty well in its own right.
So anyway, Marilyn, the long-lost daughter of Serena (Samantha's twin
cousin), has been raised by Lilian and Herman Munster (because her mother
wanted her to have a normal environment), but was under a spell that required
her not to know about or use her magical powers until after she lost her
virginity. When she did lose her virginity, it was with a jerk who just used
her body to masturbate, then rolled over and went to sleep. So she wished it
hadn't happened. Of course, this meant that she had regained her virginity
and retained her powers - either a pleasant or an unpleasant state of
affairs, depending on how one looks at it. And so it goes....
The story uses an excellent combination of voyeurism, magic, and cameo
appearances by people whose identity you'll sometimes have to infer to
integrate some really hot sex scenes into an imaginative plot.
"Bonnie" by Friar Dave (Friar_Dave@mhbbs.com). Dan has company for the
weekend: his older but not-too-close cousin Mark, Mark's sexy sister-in-law
Kate, their three nubile and buxom teenage daughters, and Kate's younger
sister, the eponymous Bonnie.
Well, on Day One of the visit, Mark reveals to Dan that Kate is insatiable,
and he says that he'd like Dan to help out a bit in the bedroom. Dan, of
course, declines. Then Dan tells Kate that the 15-year-old daughter has been
making a play for him, and she promises to handle the situation. Meanwhile,
11-year-old Penny keeps asking innocent but precocious questions. All this
before our eponymous heroine has even arrived on the scene! The action heats
up after Bonnie's arrival. As the narrator says, "Broing!"
{I'm working on a Word for the Day program. As you may have guessed, the
Word for Today is "Legs." Spread the word!}
One could regard this story as a treatise on ways to deflate an aroused cock
- some using cold water and some using more interesting methods. One could
also regard this story as an example of semi-responsible hedonism. I wonder
if anyone has ever used that term before.
I like Friar Dave. I really do. But as I started reading this story, I
couldn't help saying to myself, "Aha! I've got him. This story is too
disjointed to earn straight 10's." But alas! He managed to pull it off.
That's the breaks, I guess. This is a really sexy story.
"A Cold Day in Hell" by Delta (delta*@bc.sympatico.ca). Miller is an
electronics repairman. He just wants to be left alone. His one true love
has gone away, and he doesn't want to take chances again. It's not that life
has no meaning: it's just that the meaning comes from the feeling of triumph
when a piece of broken electronic equipment springs back to life. Then he
finds a homeless young woman and brings her home - not for sex, but simply
because he just couldn't leave her there on the street. You can probably
figure out where this story is going, but it's still very interesting to see
how Delta gets us there. Besides, you might be surprised!
This is a long, good story with very little sex. But the long, good part of
the story makes the short, erotic part very sexy.
"'D' Is for Driving" by Dulcinea (ImDulcinea@aol.com). Driving home with her
husband from her sister's wedding, the woman suggests that they stop at a
motel so that they can make love. The husband says that he would prefer to
drive through the night, so that they can sleep in their own bed. She takes
his refusal as a challenge and seduces him in the dark while he tries to
drive the car. This is another excellent story.
"Encounter at Green's Rock" by Joe Parsons (jmp@cyber-mall.com). The woman
has decided to visit the island area in Maine that she used to haunt with her
cousins during her childhood. She comes upon a teenage boy masturbating; and
after watching him, she makes tender love to him. This main event is
surrounded by numerous reflections on her own sexual development. This is a
well-written, sensitive, erotic story.
"Fortuitous" by Uther Pendragon (anon584c@nyx.cs.du.edu). Bob and Jeanette
Brennan are two of the most extraordinarily ordinary people found on this
newsgroup. In this episode they continue to work at forming a family while
helping Bob continue his studies toward a Ph.D. in history. For his Christmas
present, Jeanette has agreed to let Bob be her sex slave for a day. This
paradoxical proposition turns into a happy and exciting time for both of
them.
Some readers will find fault with one of the real beauties of this story.
The author spends a lot of time on topics that apparently have little to do
with sex, such as family meetings and summaries of ancient or medieval
history. While I understand that these details may be superfluous to readers
interested in achieving orgasm at their computers, I find that these aspects
make the sex richer by giving us the framework within which really hot,
loving sex can occur. While I often enjoy the fantasy that two people can
meet and give each other wildly exciting pleasure, it has been my own
experience that the joy, the pleasure, and even the wildness get better when
they occur as part of a relationship that both partners are willing to work
at. This author has done an excellent job of both developing such a
relationship and describing extremely hot sexual episodes within that
relationship.
"Have Gun Will Travel" by Shelby Bush (stbush@iglou.com). There are
certainly better stories on this newsgroup - perhaps with hotter sex and more
fully developed plots; but as a pastiche of a popular TV show of the early
1960s, this story is excellent. It explores what the highly-rated western
would have been like, had it been allowed to have sex as a natural part of
the plot. I watched this show only rarely; it must have been in conflict
with Lawrence Welk or something else that my family watched in black and
white, but I could see that the parallels to the original show were well
done. In addition, even if you've never seen the TV show, the story stands
pretty well on its own.
"Mercedes" by Morgan Preece (zanna@whoever.com). The narrator is a gigolo, I
suppose; he hangs onto his piece of life by latching onto older women, who
like him for his good looks and the sex he is able to throw their way. As he
says, " Sex is all in the mind anyway and I approached each woman as an
intellectual puzzle subject to physical manipulation, like one of those
multicolored cubes. But things begin to change one day when he tries to
seduce a rich woman who drives a Mercedes. He finds himself trapped,
enslaved; and he undergoes experiences that had never even occurred to him
before.
I usually don't like sex-slavery stories or those that involve piercing and
diapers; but I did enjoy this story. It's hard to explain. I recommend you
check it out for yourself.
"Metari Nights" by Mary Anne Mohanraj (mohanraj@mills.edu). Shalini has been
sold as a slave/courtesan into the House of Leata. Unlike most of the sex
slaves on this newsgroup, Shalini longs to be free; and she theorizes that
the best way to gain her freedom is by becoming an extremely adept courtesan.
Her sexual skills lead her into the arms of a magician who gains for her a
dangerous opportunity to break away from her slavery. You can read the rest
of the story for yourself.
With its vague setting in the mideast or the orient, this story reads like a
sexy tale from "1001 Arabian Nights." In an epilog the author states that
this is a cannibalized extract from a novel-in-progress. In spite of some
rough edges - and unexpectedly bad grammar and style in Chapter 8 - this is
an excellent story that combines adventure and romance.
"The Prey" by Doug Reade (readebks@wolfenet.com). The young man is a sexual
predator. He lurks in hiding, waiting for the right child to molest. He has
ways to entice children. He knows his business well. In the incident that
is the focus of this story, he has sized up a 6-year-old boy as his next
victim. But just as he's about to pounce, an even more attractive
10-year-old girl approaches almost out of nowhere. He sets his sights on
her....
I normally don't like pedophile stories; but this one is excellent. This is
not a sexy story (at least it did not arouse me), but it is a good story.
Strange, but excellent. I can't tell you more about it. Read it for
yourself.
"The Second Contest: A Smutty Seinfeld Story" by no one (noone@nowhere.com).
George's girlfriend, Susan, has just recently died; and the guys (Jerry,
George, and Kramer) are sitting around the table in the restaurant with
Elaine, bragging about their sexual prowess. Elaine offers to settle the
question of which is best in the sack. They put up money for a wager, and
Elaine agrees to give them each one shot at her, so that she can make a
quality assessment. I won't tell you any more, except to say that this
dysfunctional group of friends performs about the way you might expect.
The author does an excellent job in this parody of the Seinfeld television
sitcom. I hope we see more stories from him/her.
"Second Hand Rose" by Vickie Tern (VickieTern@aol.com). The man and his wife
differ in their selection of friends. He figures hers are a bunch of snobs,
and she gets embarrassed when he drinks to much and makes a fool of himself
in front of her friends. They go to a "stuffy" party at her boss's house.
He's a publisher, and since the book he's currently working on requires some
research on anal sex, and since the husband is already making an ass of
himself - well, they make him part of the plot.
This is a really bizarre idea, but the author carries it off well.
"A Tale of New Eden: Tomiko" by Unknown Author. As I explained in a an issue
of CR in early January, I felt the beginning of a new year would be a good
time to re-align or re-calibrate my rating system. I didn't want to become
excessively harsh, but too many stories were getting straight 10s. Since I
try to select stories that sound interesting, I'm not surprised that I get a
lot of high ratings; but I have been pleased in recent weeks to note a nice
sprinkling of 8s and 7s in my ratings - and even lower numbers for weaker
stories. So when I hit two straight 10s to start this issue, I figured I'd
read a couple of sex slavery stories: they're usually pretty inane, I
figured, and one of them should snap my streak. No way! Mercedes was
excellent, and so is this one. I guess I had better look for an incestuous
wife-swapping story!
Tomiko is a young woman who is a member of a Utopian harem. Her only goal is
to serve her master, who is apparently an insatiable sex machine, copulating
with dozens of beautiful women each day and having others fondle his
genitals, feed him grapes, and wipe his ass between the more specifically
orgasmic love-making sessions. The preceding sentence summarizes the story,
but the author makes it sound a little more interesting.
One of the interesting things about Utopian stories is that if we violate
just one of their assumptions, we would often have an anti-Utopian story.
For example, this story assumes no jealousy among the members of the harem:
if we simply insert the possibility of jealousy we might have hell rather
than heaven in the harem. But "a woman's tits should exceed a man's grasp -
else what's a heaven for?"
"Testing the Device" by Tom Bombadil (stbush@iglou.com). This story is an
interesting mixture of the erotic and the technological. In a surrealistic
atmosphere several people are participating in a scripted sexual encounter
that involves simulated or vicarious interactions with other people. These
virtual encounters are perceived as real, and the pleasures experienced by
the individuals are real.
This story gives an interesting insight into how technology could someday
influence sexual behavior. A problem with the story is that while I was
reading it I often found it to be difficult to ascertain who was doing what
to whom. After I finished the story and checked back over the previous text,
I managed to make complete sense out of everything and to verify that the
author had been consistent. In spite of my difficulty, I found this to be a
complex but most enjoyable reading experience.
