There were no trees, no firewood, no stove.
Children in a separate bedroom would freeze to death, the only source of 
warmth in their small room was the heat of their own bodies.
Mostly they were in the dark, there was not enough animal oil to have a 
lamp burning full-time.
Initially the snow blocks produced an anechoic sound chamber, but like 
an old-fashioned refrigerator, the steam from their breath, soon 
condensed, producing smooth hard ice.
Their tiny room of ice had excellent acoustics, if grandmother urinated 
in a bucket, everyone shared the act. Grandmother was naked underneath 
polar bear skins, so were her children and grandchildren.
The igloo was essentially one big cozy bed.
Three generations of extended family in bed together, naked.
Societies adapt, accommodate or perish.
Eskimo society enthusiastically embraced the one thing that allows 
survival under these conditions ... sex.
They would spend four months inside their frozen igloo with no radio, 
marijuana, television, wine, books, whiskey, music, telephone, pizza 
delivery or light to read by.

like all Eskimo mother's, if food was plentiful, she would allow a sex 
partner a swallow of warm breast milk.
Vin was no longer an infant having his penis stroked by an older Sister, 
he was a big boy now, part of an Eskimo family, able to contribute sexually.
He did his best to bring pleasure to his female relatives, helping his 
family share each others bodies until an exhausted sleep overcame them.
Polar bears sleep through the winter, Eskimos come as close to 
hibernation as they can, with hours of deep sleep brought on by sexual 
exhaustion.
Eskimos have tens of millennia of cultural memory, knowing, this is the 
only way they can survive.
Eskimo men have their special ceremony they perform before the long 
night arrives, tying strips of hide together, making ropes linking all 
the igloos, even in the darkens, Eskimo men could
crawl from igloo to igloo, knowing a warm and willing female was waiting 
in the next igloo.
To do it any other way would introduce jealousy, envy, madness and murder.

In time Christian missionaries came.
The Eskimos accepted Christianity, believed these men spoke for a great God.
They smiled knowingly, as missionaries preached about Adam and Eve 
living in the Garden of Eden without sin, enjoying guilt free sex.
They also preached that after the Garden of Eden God took personal 
interest in everyone's sex life, wanting men to deny other men sexual 
access to their wives.
Eskimos realized these white men knew nothing of sex.
It was obvious only the Eskimo remained, other people had developed an 
awareness of sin, feeling shame and guilt, forcing God to expel them 
from the garden of Eden.
God, had obviously not told them, knowing they would be jealous.
To survive the winter, God had given his chosen people, the Eskimo, his
