Hunts the Night By: H.D. Meister

The Isle was crowded as usual. Smoke and alcohol did little to mask
the scent of hunter and prey. Eyes, bright with joy and clouded with
drink, spoke louder than the voices this evening. Carrie sat with her
friends, sipping quietly on her rum and Coke. She noticed him
immediately, mostly due to his sudden appearance at the bar.

He was not attractive, if the normal definition applied. His brown
skin seemed to leech the shadows of their darkness, only to ooze it
back into the smoke-covered lights. He wore a white tee-shirt which
sported the howling form of a black werewolf and a pair of faded blue
jeans. His shoes were black hi-top sneakers, and she saw no sign of
jewelry. He wore a baseball cap, its rim curved slightly, with none
of the country-boy curve which most of the men seemed to prefer. Yet
Carrie found herself watching him.

Her attention wavered for an instant when Melodie, her roommate,
walked across her field of vision.. Carrie blinked, then returned to
sipping her drink. There were various pool games being played, and
she wanted to get in at least one game before she returned to her dorm
room. A table had opened up, and before someone could grab the table,
she filled the coin slots with her quarters.

Mind if I join you? asked a rather gentle male voice. She looked
up, expecting to see a well-dressed man with alcohol and sex in place
of brains. Her eyes were captured by the sight of the strange man at
the bar. She immediately knew that something was not quite...
proper... with him.

Sure, if you dont mind losing. She smiled, hoping to calm
herself. He chuckled, sounding too much like a movie villain for her
tastes. His beard framed his face, giving him the appearance of a
chimp. Even his eyes held the promise of mischief. You want to
break?

My thanks. The stranger grabbed a cue stick from one of the rack
holders and made his way to the table. Carrie went to the bar to
order another drink. When she turned around, she noticed the stranger
had racked the balls and was waiting for her return.

They played three games, and Carrie was pleased to find that he was
respectful. His was a true case of the cover telling nothing about
the book.

Last Call!!

Its been great... umm...

Delvar Steele. And you are?

Carrie Aredale. She blushed at not having the courtesy to ask his
name before now.

I hope to see you again. I actually enjoyed tonight. Carrie
found herself walking with Delvar as he made his way downstairs
towards the exit.

Wait. I hate to ask this, but my friends have left, and I dont
like walking on campus at night. Could you walk me to my room? She
looked at him, toying with the idea of inviting him to her room.

Sure, he replied. Where do you live?

Sandy Hall. You a student?

Nope, I just pay the professors to at least have the decency of
bending me over first. They both laughed as they stepped out into
the night.

The night air was pure, and the conversation was quiet. Carrie had no
intention of destroying a perfect night with loud words. She liked
Delvar; he was everything that she had ever desired emotionally, and
his personality was his own. As they arrived at her dorm, she had
decided to try to see exactly how far she could go with this
relationship. She faced him, smiling warmly, and offered her hand.
She knew that he expected nothing more, and deserved nothing less.

Are you going to be at The Isle next week?

Delvar shook her hand and returned her smile. Guess so. If I
cant make it, Ill leave word. Take care. She watched him walk
toward Cornnell Hall, directly across from her dorm. She saw him turn
slowly, looking towards her. She turned and entered the building,
hoping that this evening would be the first in a long line. She never
heard the howl which rumbled through the warm Spring air.

Two months had passed, and each day of each month found Carrie getting
closer and closer to Delvar, whom she was calling Del. Every moment
spent with him made her feel alive.

Going to see Del? Melodie asked. Her roommate had approved of the
relationship, something which Carrie had not asked for, but was
grateful.

Movie night. Just two good friends watching a few flicks. Nothing
special.

Got any rubbers?

Mel!!

Look, I know you love him, and I think he loves you. I can never
tell with men. Anyway, IF something does happen, and you two wind up
going buck wild, let it be a night of passion, not regrets. Chalk it
up to mothers paranoia. Melodie opened her purse and handed
Carrie six condoms. Carrie thought about Melodies words before
accepting the gift.

Look, nothing happens, at least you can say that you were
prepared. Carrie smiled at her roommate before leaving the room.
Her heart began to throb. She did not know what would happen, but she
did know that this night may well change her relationship with Del.

She entered Dels dorm with little fanfare. She walked down the
hallway, her sneakers squeaking as she took each step. She saw a head
poke its way from an open door and smiled at the young man. He
grinned and closed the door slowly. Within seconds, she was at Dels
door. She knocked quietly.

Enter! a voice bellowed from within. She chuckled at this,
wondering why he chose not to simply open the door.

Hi yourself! Del turned to face the door, a smile sliding swiftly
over his lips. She was gorgeous. Her vibrant evergreen colored
blouse seemed to simply float over her body. The soft, black fabric
reminded him of the sea at night. Her face was dusted lightly with
makeup, and her scent was pure woman. His eyes narrowed slightly as
The Beast began to stir.

She had hoped that she looked her best. She decided against wearing
perfume, and hoped that his hesitation wasnt because of something
that he smelled. He looked as he always did: comfortable. Even
dressed in black pants, black soft-leather boots and a bone white
turtle neck shirt, he seemed at ease with himself. He was a man, and
she, she realized, was a woman. Suddenly, Melodies gift seemed more
like a miracle.

You look... fabulous!! Del hugged her close, inhaling her scent.
Deep within him, The Beast growled. It was hungry, and here was a
feast fit for several kings and their kingdoms. Carrie relaxed into
his arms, feeling herself melt into him. When he released her, she
found herself holding tightly to his hands. With a gentle smile, she
blushed.

They watched one movie quietly, both enjoying the simple pleasure of
the others company. She chose the second movie, a rather erotic
film on one of the cable channels. Del squinted. He was not sure of
Carries intentions, but The Beast within him knew. It would feed
well tonight. He offered her some iced tea before the movie started,
then sat on the carpeted floor. She took the drink, and sat between
his legs. Del tried to control his breathing. Having a beautiful
woman, one whom he cared deeply for, sitting not more than a thought
away and knowing how much she trusted him upset him greatly.
Betraying that trust simply to satisfy the base desires of The Beast
was unthinkable. He closed his eyes and prayed, hard.

Carrie nestled herself between his legs. She had enjoyed the movie,
but having Del so close to her made the evening almost complete. The
tea did little to wet her lips, lips which longed to taste his. She
did not know what to do, so she sought solace within him. Never had
she experienced such a total loss of control over her body, her heart.
She trusted him. She believed that he loved her, but was unwilling to
test this. Her eyes drifted to the screen, and froze.

The couple on screen were entwined. Del watched, knowing that
tonight, The beast would feed if he didnt act immediately. He
reached for Carrie, recognizing his mistake too late. His hands
landed softly upon her silk covered shoulders, and he felt The Beast
rise. It filled his head, clouding his vision and drying his throat.
He licked his lips as glimpses of her skin filtered through her hair.
Carrie surrendered to lust. She would give herself totally to Del.
She turned, her eyes but slivers.  Her lips quivered with longing;
her hands crept towards his bearded visage. She felt his hands
tremble with doubt, and understood. Her eyes opened fully, slowly
engulfing his form.

The Beast stopped, wondering what it was witnessing. Del watched her
closely, not trusting himself to speak. Her lips found his, and The
Beast howled in triumph. It would feed, but it would finally be one
with Del. Outside, neither heard the twin howls: a wolf and its
mate.

They kissed softly. Dels hands glided just above her shoulders, yet
she felt them. Primal urges swept over her, only to be drowned in
wave upon wave of passions long held at bay. Her tongue slithered
into his mouth, twisting within its warmth. She touched his neck
gently. He touched her shapely hips and she rose, taking a step
backwards Del watched her with new eyes. He had gazed through those
of The Beast before, yet these eyes were new. They saw a vision, a
woman of beauty bound only by the breaking waves of passion within her
heart. He rose to meet her.

With care, he unbuttoned her blouse. She waited patiently, for Time
had ceased its march through the room. With the last button, he
paused. He inhaled slowly, then, as he exhaled, revealed her breasts.
They were bound by rich, royal purple lace. All thoughts ceased as he
knelt to remove her pants. The zipper refused to speak as it traveled
down, and Del watched the night-sea black fabric ebb. Hidden behind
yet more silk was that which he hungered for. His lips touched her
thigh, and Carrie shook. Passion threatened to overwhelm her, and for
the first time in her life, she encouraged its fury. She pulled at
his shirt until it yielded his chest to her view. She stroked his
back as he feathered her thighs with kisses. Nectar dripped slowly
from her, finding its way to her thighs and his waiting lips. His
tongue whipped out, sensing the nearness of her. It gathered but a
drop of the nectar, yet that was all it needed. The hunger within Del
swelled. Without removing the barrier, he fixed his mouth over her
love, and began to sip.

The universe exploded before Carries eyes. She felt his tongue drag
its way across her panties with a slowness that enraged her passions
well beyond her expectations. She bit back the screech as she
struggled to breathe. Her hands grasped the flimsy fabric, only to be
touched by his fingers. With each suckle, each path made by his
loving licks, her passion swelled. She pulled him to his feet, intent
on repaying him. Her hands moved quickly to remove his pants. They
felt his power long before reaching the belt. Soon, he stood before
her, his pants, like hers, a puddle at his feet. She knelt, reaching
up to his chest. She let her hair tickle his thighs as she leaned
forward. Heat kissed her cheek as she rubbed it against his strength.
Del took controlled breaths as she teased him. The hunger rose
quickly, demanding satisfaction. He slid to his knees, kicking off
his boots. Soon both were on the floor, Del looking upwards.

His eyes fixed hers, then traveled down. She stood over him, and
removed the last barriers to total pleasure. His eyes call, and she
answered. She squatted slowly, feeling fire lick her thighs. There.
There... The fire touched her love.

Her passion destroyed everything within reach as he licked his way up.
Carrie grasps at air, vainly trying to hold on to reality as it was
worn away. Her mouth hung open, drying her throat, choking any
semblance of a scream. She spun quickly, twisting on his face.
There, waiting for her, was her salvation. With trembling hands, he
took hold of him, and began to drink deeply. A faint whisper of
spoken words drifted cat-like through Dels head, a darker shade of
gray than the fog which held sway there. He shook his head and her
body exploded. He felt her draining life from his loins, yet with
each suckle, The Beast and Del grew stronger, more unified, and their
hunger grew as well. With a final, exaggerated lick he touched her
rear, aware of its softness. She moved.

Instinct slid his hands towards his condoms, hidden under his bed and
just out of sight. Instinct selected one. Instinct prepared him to
for the feast before him. Carries body began to stir, slinking form
side to side. His skin, wet with effort, once again became the shadow
eater it had been that first night. Power. Erotic, pure, unchecked
power enshrouded his naked form. As he knelt, the passion made its
way to the shore. Its thunderous crash whipped her upwards,
impaling he on him. Both gasped.

Each thrust was a labor; her body twisted, jerked and slid, forcing
no two thrusts to travel the same path. Del didnt mind; this
simply meant that the journey would all the more satisfying when it
finally came to its end. Carrie found herself riding the biggest wave
passion offered. Each thrust elevated her and the wave. He grabbed
her flailing legs, resting them on his chest. He had saved the best
of the feast for now, and he planned to enjoy its flavor totally. He
crept forward, flexing his hips. Carrie lost what little control over
her body that she did have, he neck twitching with each pulse that he
sent deep within her. Faster and faster and faster still. The pace
would have certainly obliterated any normal human, yet they were no
more normal than the tales told by bards of the fanciful. He bent
forward, fastening his mouth to her nipple. She clawed viciously at
his back. The shore came rushing towards her as passion gripped,
flinging her towards the ground. Del threw his head back.

The end came, Time and its minions storming the room denied them. Del
snarled his fury at having his meal disturbed by this interloper.
Carrie simply fell. The ground had not the strength to even slow her
descent. Whirling mists tugged at her limbs, her nipples. Wisps
caressed her rose petal soft flower. The thunder of life boomed,
boomed, boomed between her thighs.  Del felt his arms being crushed;
his back locked solidly. He looked at Carrie, letting her limp legs
slide off of him. They kissed gently, ending as they had started.
Sleep came to both, and faintly did the howl of wolves greet their
ears. Del smiled.

Melodie watched as the door opened. She saw Carrie lumber towards her
bed and simply collapse. The scent tickled her nose, and she smiled.
Carrie slept well that night. Melodie chuckled softly, and left the
room to Carrie, her dreams and a bright future.
