Ed's Shame Ch. 1
     by Uncle Sky

Ed was sitting on a bench in the park watching the children play. Well,
to be honest he was watching the little girls play. Ed greatly admired
little girls. He especially liked the ones around 8 years old. There was
one sitting on the ground playing jacks not far from him. She had her
legs spread wide and was bouncing the little ball and grabbing the jacks
from the space between her legs. She wore a bright yellow summer dress
with puff sleeves. The hem came just to her knees when she stood up. But
as she sat there playing, it rose up slightly and Ed could see her bare
legs and every now and then, when the ball seemed about to escape, she
leaned over to the side and the dress moved up. Ed could just barely see
her panties then.

He tried not to let anyone know he was watching. It would not be safe
for him if they knew. He had on his dark glasses and held a newspaper in
front of him. But his eyes were on the girl, not the paper.

Oh how he wished he could play with her. Touch her. Feel her. He wanted
her, but would never make a move toward her. He had watched many little
girls over the years. But he never touched any of them. He had been
watching little girls for many, many years. Ever since he was 9 years
old and in the third grade. That was when he met Judy.

It was 1945 and the War was over. Life was getting back to normal. Eddie
was finally starting third grade. He had repeated the second grade
because he got all his childhood ailments the first time through. He had
measles, whooping cough, and chicken pox. He missed so much school they
just couldn't pass him. Just last summer while he waited to enter the
third grade he had come down with polio. He was terrified. But he
survived with no noticeable after effects. And in spite of it all he was
now in the third grade.

It was a large public school in a large city. That meant that he didn't
know most of the kids in his class. Those that he did know were not
close friends. He was pretty much a loner. He was not very good looking
either. He wore glasses and had buck teeth. Some of the other kids
teased him. Most of the time he went to school and then right home after
school.

His friends were in his neighborhood. They went to different schools so
he didn't see them during the day. They were about the same age as he
was and they played together when ever he had free time. But he had one
friend that was much older, Leroy.

Leroy was 16. That was like a grown up to Eddie. Leroy knew a lot about
grown up things and he told Eddie lots of stories. Many of the stories
were about Leroy's adventures with girls. He liked to brag about his sex
life. Eddie envied Leroy.

Then along came Judy and things changed. Judy was only 8 years old. In
many ways she was like Eddie. She was plain they said. Her hair was
dirty blonde and scraggly. Her clothes were old and looked second hand.
Her family was poor. She was not popular.

Judy lived on a street about two thirds of the way to Eddie's house
along the route he took walking home from school. He saw Judy walking
ahead of him most afternoons, on her way home. He walked slowly and
watched her from behind.

Most of the kids in Eddie's class had boyfriends and girlfriends. They
were too young to date but they liked one person in a special way and
spent time together when they could. They were too young for romance
really. But they were getting to that point. But not Eddie. And as he
watched her he realized that Judy didn't have a special friend either.
He watched her and wondered. No one else seemed to like Judy. He
wondered what would happen if he made friends with her.

Judy and Eddie knew each other because they were in the same class. But
they never spoke to each other or spent time together. That is, not
until Eddie got up his nerve. One afternoon as he walked home a little
ways behind Judy she stopped suddenly. She seemed to be looking at
something but Eddie couldn't see what. Without much thought he decided
to see what was going on. He walked up to her and said "Hi Judy, whatcha
lookin at?".

Judy jumped and looked at him with big blue eyes. She looked as if she
was scared to death. "Oh, uh, um, nothin. Just a kitty that ran over
there behind that tree". She started to walk away as if she was in a
hurry. She was not used to boys talking to her. "I wonder what he wants",
she thought.

Eddie had no idea where he got the bravery all of a sudden but he kept
walking and stayed next to her. They walked along a little ways before
he could talk. "I see you walk this way every day. I do too. It's on my
way home. You want to walk together?" Good gosh, did he say that?

Judy looked at him for a second as she tried to think what was going on.
Boys did not talk to her unless they were going to tease her about
something. But Eddie didn't look like he was going to do anything bad.
Maybe it would be ok. Maybe he would be nice to her. Judy thought that
would be great. "Um, OK. I guess."

Eddie was speechless again. She had said yes. Now what should he do? He
walked along beside her. They were both quiet. Before Eddie realized it
they were at her house. She stopped and looked at him as if waiting for
something. He finally opened his mouth and out came the best he could
think of. "See ya." And off he strode down the street toward his home.
His mind was churning. "Good God. How dumb can you be", he thought. She
probably wouldn't ever speak to him again.

But Judy was watching him now. He had not said anything mean to her. She
thought she had even seen a smile on his face when he said "see ya". She
smiled, turned and went into her house. She wondered if Eddie would walk
her home again tomorrow.

The next day Eddie and Judy acted the same as always. Well, almost the
same. Eddie found himself looking at Judy more and more. If she saw him
looking he turned away quickly. A few times when he looked over at her
he found her looking at him, but then she would look away as if she
didn't want him to know. The day seemed to drag on for ever.

Finally the day was over and everyone headed out the door to go home.
Eddie dashed out as fast as he could and then waited for Judy by the
school gate. It seemed like a long time but then she came along behind a
group of other girls. Nothing was said. The two of them just headed
home. They walked along beside one another but that was all. Eddie was
trying to think of something to say but he couldn't. He just didn't know
what to say to a girl.

All too soon for Eddie, they were at Judy's house. Like the previous
day, they just stood looking at each other for a minute, then Eddie said
"see you tomorrow" and walked away. "Well" he thought, "it was a little
better than yesterday".

This went on for the rest of the week with no real change other than the
way he said goodbye. He just couldn't think of how he should act with a
girl. Saturday came and he went to see Leroy. He would know what to do.
Leroy knew all about girls.

Eddie told Leroy everything that had been going on. Leroy laughed and
then asked some questions.

"Do you like her?"

"A little."

"What do you want from her?"

"I guess I want to have a girl friend. Any girl friend. But she's the
only one who would pay any attention to me, so I guess it has to be
her."

"Do you want to fuck her?"

"Geez Leroy. I don't know about that. I guess I would if I could."

"Well you need to treat her differently if you like her than if you just
want to get laid."

So Leroy told Eddie how to treat Judy. He told him what to say and what
to do. He told Eddie to report back as he made progress and he would get
more help as needed.

Eddie lay in bed that night thinking about Judy and what Leroy had told
him. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to get laid, and
Judy was his only hope. He decided to follow Leroy's advice.

On Monday morning Eddie left home early. He went over to Judy's house
and waited for her. When she came out he said "Hi. I thought we could
walk to school together too." Judy smiled and off they went together.
Eddie could tell she was pleased.

All that week Eddie and Judy walked to and from school together. Little
by little Eddie managed to start talking. They talked about school
first. Then they talked about their families. Soon they were talking
about games and movies and other things they liked. Eddie was very
careful to say he liked the same things as Judy even if he didn't. Judy
seemed very pleased and smiled a lot.

On friday Eddie made his next move. As they were walking home, he very
casually reached over and took hold of Judy's hand. She didn't pull away
like he thought she would. She squeezed his hand a little and held on as
they walked. When they got to her house Judy looked a little nervous.
She glanced around as if afraid of being seen and then before Eddie
could do anything she leaned forward and planted a kiss on his cheek. He
was in shock. He didn't have time to react because as soon as she did
it, Judy ran into the house.

Eddie was floating. He was amazed at how things were going. Leroy must
be right. He might actually get laid. But he needed more help so he went
back to Leroy. The older boy coached him and told him he was doing fine.
Getting a kiss so soon was very good for a start. They discussed the
next move and Eddie went home. He spent the whole weekend planning and
going over it all in his mind. It seemed like Monday would never come.

But Monday did come and Eddie was there waiting for Judy when she came
out to go to school. After a quick look around Eddie planted a kiss on
Judy's cheek just as she had done to him on Friday. Judy smiled and they
went off to school holding hands and laughing. Eddie felt great.

The rest of the week went along about the same. In the morning one would
kiss the other on the cheek and in the afternoon the other would do the
kissing. They took turns. It was fun and a little daring to them. They
both seemed very happy.

Friday soon arrived and it was time for Eddie to make his next move. As
they walked home he asked her about her parents letting her go to the
movies. She told him she couldn't have a date yet but was allowed to go
with other girls to the Saturday matinee. Eddie asked her if she would
meet him at the movie the next day. He said they could sit together if
she wanted to. Judy agreed. As they parted outside her house they kissed
again. But this time as Judy leaned forward Eddie turned his head and
they kissed on the mouth. Judy was surprised but not angry. She kind of
liked it. With nothing more said, they parted.

Saturday morning Eddie got cleaned up and combed his hair. He made sure
he brushed his teeth and used mouthwash. He wanted to be ready for his
date with Judy. His mother was a little surprised at his actions but
didn't think too much about it. She gave him his allowance and off he
went to the movie. He arrived early and stood for a long time waiting.
He was beginning to think Judy was not coming when he saw her at last.
Judy smiled and took his hand as he bought both tickets and they went
in.

Ed suddenly realized that there was someone between he and the little
girl. He carefully looked up and saw a frumpy looking old bag standing
there. She was looking at the little girl and then she glanced over at
him. Ed turned the paper he was supposedly reading, over as if following
a story.

The old bag moved on with a grumpy look on her face. Ed realized he had
almost been caught. He had let his thoughts take control of him and
forgot to turn the paper. He must be careful or he would be in a world
of shit.

Once more Ed looked past the paper and saw the girl playing. She had a
cute little smile on her face and seemed to be having a fun time. She
was fast too. He noticed her speed in picking up the jacks while the
ball was still in the air. She did well but just missed the last one
every time. Then she would start over. He wondered how much longer she
would stay in that position. He glanced around to be sure he was not
being watched, then seemed to go back to reading. But his mind wandered
back to Judy.

As they walked into the lobby Eddie asked Judy if she wanted anything
from the snack bar. She said she would like a coke and some pop corn.
Eddie got one large Coke and one large pop corn. He picked up two straws
and several napkins. Together they walked into the theater. It was
crowded with kids as usual for a mattinee. Eddie glanced around to see
if anyone was watching. Seeing it was all clear he turned and walked up
into the balcony. Judy followed as he climbed all the way up to the top
row. They would be alone up there. None of the kids went up there for
the early show and no adults ever came to the kids show on Saturday.

Judy felt a little nervous going way up there with Eddie. But she liked
him and trusted him, so she went along quietly. Eddie stepped aside and
let Judy go into the row first and find a seat she liked, then he sat
down next to her. He handed her the pop corn and stuck the two straws in
the Coke. They both leaned forward and took a drink at the same time.
Their heads bumped together and they giggled.

Soon the show started. First was the cartoon then the Tom Mix Serial.
They didn't bother to show the newsreels for that show since it was all
kids. The first feature was next. It was a cowboy movie but the hero had
a girl friend so there was a little romance in it too. They settled down
to watch with Eddie holding the Coke and Judy holding the pop corn.

By the end of the western they had finished the pop corn and only had
some Coke left. There was a short intermission and they took turns going
to the restroom so that one could hold the Coke while the other was
gone. Just as they settled down again the second feature started. This
one was a detective story but there was a little more romance in it.
Judy seemed to like that.

As they watched the movie Eddie tried to remember what Leroy had told
him. Very slowly he moved his arm up and over the back of the seat
behind Judy. She noticed but didn't say anything. It wasn't long before
his hand was down on her shoulder and he was holding her close. He
thought she might pull away but she didn't. Instead she rested her head
on Eddie's shoulder and snuggled closer to him. He couldn't believe how
easy it seemed to be.

It wasn't very long before the Coke was gone. Eddie put the cup on the
floor. That left his hand free. Time for the next step. He reached over
and took Judy's hand in his. She gave his hand a little squeeze and left
it where it was. It was in her lap. Now it was Eddie that was getting
nervous. He wasn't sure what to do next. He tried to think but couldn't
seem to remember what Leroy had told him. He just held her hand for a
while.

After a bit Eddie decided to try something. He moved the arm that was
around her shoulder so that his hand was touching her cheek. He ran his
fingers over her ear and cheek and down to her neck. She sighed. "Oh my
God, she likes it", he thought. He kept touching her face and neck and
then slowly pressed her cheek until she was facing him. He moved his
head forward and placed his lips on hers in a soft kiss. Leroy said the
soft ones were best. He was right.

They held the kiss for what seemed like ages. When they pulled apart
they were both out of breath. The kiss had been the first real romantic
kiss for either of them. It was closed mouth but was much better than
the little pecks they had been sharing for a while on the way to and
from school. This was big for both of them. But Eddie wanted more. Not
too fast Leroy had said. Go slow and get further. So Eddie waited a few
minutes and then kissed her again. Boy did he like this kissing. And
when he looked at Judy it was pretty clear that she did too. There was a
look in her eyes that he had never seen before. Like a spark or
something. And such a soft looking smile on her face too.

Soon the movie was forgotten. They hugged and kissed all through the
rest of the show. Then during the last kiss Eddie decided to try
something Leroy had told him about. French kissing. It started out just
like all the others. Then he opened his moth just a little bit and
slipped his tongue out. He didn't press hard but slowly ran it along her
lips, then pulled it back in his mouth. He held the kiss a moment longer
to see what Judy would do. Nothing, that's what she did. Oh well, at
least she didn't run away screaming. So he kissed her again. This time
he was going to keep his mouth shut but to his amazement, she opened
her's and licked his lips. He felt warm all over. He slid his tongue out
and met hers. They slid along into and out of each others mouths,
tasting each other for the first time. It was hot and they were just
getting started when the lights came up.

The darn movie was over. They had to leave. Eddie was already thinking
about next week. He wondered how Judy felt. Did he dare ask her? Should
he let well enough alone? As they left the theater he put his arm around
her waist and held her close. She did the same. It was kind of awkward
at first but after a few steps they got settled into a stride that kept
them together and not bumping each other with every step.

They didn't talk for about a block and then Eddie had to say something.
But what? He started a couple of times and hesitated. Then he managed to
get it out.

"I really liked that."

"Yes, they were both good movies."

"No. Not the movies. The other thing. The kissing." He managed to get
it out without stuttering.

"Oh. Yes. I did too. It was very nice. It made me feel all warm." She
blushed as she admitted that. He liked the way she looked when she
blushed.

"I felt all warm too. I never felt like that before. I want to do it
again if you want to." Slow, Leroy had said. He kept reminding himself.
He didn't want to ruin it.

"I hope so," she said. "But we're almost to my house now and you can't
come all the way. I can't let Mom know I was with you. She thinks I went
with the girls."

They stopped and looked around. Not seeing anyone they kissed quickly
but harder than they had before the movies. Then she dropped his hand
and started walking away. He waved at her and called after her that he
would see her monday morning. She waved back and nodded, then was gone.

End of chapter one.
