you have anything that would fit Andrea?" he asked through her closed door.
No answer.  Tommy knocked again on the door loudly.  He tried turning it,
but the door was locked.  He turned away and started walking towards his
room.  Suddenly her door opened and he felt clothes hit him in the back. 
The door closed again quickly before he could turn around and see who had
thrown them.  He picked up the clothes and brought them into the bathroom
for Andrea.  She was still wrapped in a towel when he walked in.  Andrea
looked at the clothes and smiled.  She turned off the blow dryer and turned
to kiss him.  "That was sweet." She said after pulling away from him. 
Tommy watched her get dressed and the pair of them walked down to the
kitchen.  They started making breakfast, some ham and eggs.  Tommy also put
some sausage in the microwave while Andrea put some toast in the toaster
and they chatted while they fixed everything up.  Tommy grabbed some stuff
from the cupboards and set the table.  He decided to use plates figuring
they could just tell mom that they had eaten dinner at home last night as
an excuse for the extra plates if she asked about them.  By the time they
sat down to eat Kelly and Mike had come down stairs.  "Sorry about before,
we were kinda in the middle of something." Kelly explained to him "No prob,
I can understand." Tommy said with a wink.  The four of them sat around the
table and Kelly and Mike expressed their gratitude for having breakfast
made for them.  "Dam this is good." Mike said.  "Yea, better than what I
had planned." Kelly told them.  "I was just going to make some bagels and
coffee." "Well after last night I was so hungry I could have eaten a
horse." Tommy said.  "Dam straight." Mike said.  "And before you ask yes I
was." He told them with laugh and a sly grin towards Kelly.  Kelly blushed.
"Well it's not a free meal.  You guys have to clean up.  I hate doing
dishes." Andrea said to rescue her friend from further embarrassment. 
Kelly got up and brought her dishes to the sink.  "I'll do the dishes baby.
You clear the table." She grabbed Mike's dishes after bending down and
giving him a kiss on the lips.  Mike went to grab her and make her sit on
his lap.  Kelly slapped his hands off and said.  "Haven't you had enough
yet?" "Of you never." Mike told her.  Andrea and Tommy got up and walked
towards the door.  "Andrea just leave your clothes hear I'm going to wash
all of them together so we get the beer and pot smoke out of them.  Tommy
can bring them down with his later." Kelly yelled from the kitchen. 
"Thanks." Andrea yelled back to her.  The pair walked out the door.  They
stood looking around for a little while Tommy's yard was enclosed by trees
all the way around and his driveway was up a straight hill from the main
highway that led through town.  "Last night was great Tommy." Andrea
finally said.  "Yea I had a good time." Tommy answered.  They stood there
awkwardly for a moment, Tommy not really knowing what to do.  He thought
about saying "Parting is such sweet sorrow." But didn't get the chance. 
"Listen I don't know how to say this, maybe we might have rushed into
things a little bit." Andrea started.  Tommy stopped her.  "Do you still
want to go out with me?" Andrea looked at him with a weird kind of smile on
her face.  "Yea definitely, that's not what I meant.  We just never got to
talk about what going out meant to one another.  I really do love you and I
want to stay with you but there are things we have to talk about.  I gotta
get home now, I'll call you tonight." Andrea stood on her tiptoes and gave
him a kiss on the lips, Tommy pulled her close, then after what seemed to
him a long while he let her go.  Andrea walked towards her car and got in.
She waved and backed down the driveway.  Tommy stood thinking for a little
while, he sat down on a chair and just stared towards the end of the
driveway, "What did she want to talk about?" Mike came out a little while
later.  Seeing that Tommy was stressed about something he sat down next to
him.  "What's up man?" He asked.  Tommy looked at him.  "Women." He said
solemnly "Yea tell me about it." Mike replied.  He took out his bowl and
packed it.  He took a hit and passed it toward Tommy.  Tommy grabbed it and
took a puff not really thinking about it.  He passed it back, this
continued until the bowl was empty.  Mike said to Tommy.  "Listen man, I've
been at this a lot longer than you have and let me tell you, you may never
understand them.  Try talking to your sister I talk to mine occasionally.
Sometimes it helps sometimes you end up being worse off but for the most
part it helps a lot actually." Mike put the bowl back in his pocket.  Mike
stood up.  "Paul called.  Brad's car wasn't where they parked it last night
and the cops never showed up.  Everything should be alright for now." He
looked down at Tommy.  He punched him in the shoulder.  "Buck up tough guy.
Everything will be alright, you can't kill um and you can't just forget
about them so enjoy them as much as possible to make up for all the shit
they put you through.  I gotta bounce now, I'll catch ya later." Tommy
watched him walked to his car and leave.  Tommy got up and walked inside,
he sat down in front of the TV and turned it on.  There wasn't anything
good on so he just hooked up his playstation and started shooting things in
one of his games.  His mind was a whirl, he really liked Andrea and was
happy to be going out with her, he was glad she was happy with him but
didn't know what she had to talk to him about.  The way she left was not
exactly what he had planned, a romantic kiss staring into each other's eyes
and a long goodbye hug would have been more like what he was expecting. 
Suddenly he felt a tap on the shoulder.  Kelly was standing there with a
glass of soda for him.  "Here's to the king, not a bad first impression to
make before you start high school." She raised her glass and brought it
down again.  "To you, the King." And she took a sip.  "Yea to me, the
King." Tommy said in a glum voice.  Kelly looked at him for a moment. 
"What's wrong bro?" "I've just got a lot on my mind." He told her.  "I'll
bet you do.  That was quite a night.  You got a reputation, a nickname,
impressed some upperclassmen, made a drug contact, got a girlfriend, beat
the crap out of a college asshole, got drunk and stoned.  What's their not
to think about?" Kelly said summarizing everything that had happened the
night before.  "Na, it's not any of that shit." He paused sighing.  "It's
Andrea, she says she still wants to go out with me but that we need to
talk, she says we rushed into our relationship to quickly and didn't get to
talk about what both of us wanted out of it.  I don't know how to take what
she said or what she meant." Tommy confessed.  Kelly looked at Tommy for a
moment with a look on her face that made him think she knew something about
what he was going through.  "Listen Tommy, alls I can tell you is this
Andrea likes you a lot, and I mean a lot.  Plus after that tongue whipping
you gave her last night she won't be leaving you anytime soon.  She was
bragging to Dusty and me about how you ate her out and said it was like a
little slice of heaven on earth." "You mean she told you?" Tommy asked in
shock.  "Yea, it's very hard to find a guy who's willing to do that and she
just had to brag about it.  She told us after her and Dusty helped clean me
up a little bit in the bathroom.  Believe me it's not a bad thing; she was
very surprised and very very happy.  I'm glad you two are together, maybe
her sophomore year won't be as bad as her freshman year was.  I know mine
won't." Kelly told him.  "You really like Mike don't you?" Tommy asked.

bed." Kelly told him.  "Hey Kell I have something personal to ask you."
Tommy said after a pause.  Hearing Kelly talk about Mike reminded him of
something.  "What's up?" Kelly asked.  "Have you ever had anal sex?" Tommy
blurted out a moment.  Kelly looked at him for a moment stunned.  Of all
the things he was going to ask that was definitely not what she expected.

to many other things on his mind.  He turned the game off and walked into
the Kitchen.  Kelly had made them both sandwiches he sat down and ate and

Kelly had him cheered up, they did the dishes and she asked if he wanted to

recuperating from the night before not to mention the morning.  By the time
Andrea called that night he had totally forgotten that she was going to
call.  Andrea called on his sister's line so Kelly brought out her portable
to the living room and he carried the phone into his room.  Tommy laid down
on the bed and got comfortable.  "Hey hot stuff was up?" He asked.  "Not
much just spent the whole day laying around reading a book.  It was nice
and relaxing after all we went through yesterday." She answered him.  "Yea
I know what you mean." Tommy replied.  There was a pause then Andrea said.
"Anyway we might as well as get this over with.  What I need to talk to you
about is this.  What dose going out mean to you?" Tommy thought about it
for a moment then answered.  "Well basically you're my girl and I'm your
guy, we go to dances parties and on dates together, we spend time together
and occasionally if you want we show our feelings in intimate ways." "Okay
then.  That was the simplest explanation of dating I have ever heard.  Do
you know what an open relationship is?" Andrea asked.  "What do you mean?"
Tommy replied.  "You know an open relationship.  We, you and I, are an
item. We do all the things that you mentioned only we're not bound to each
other totally.  We can sort of explore other options; see if we're really
meant to be together.  I should have asked you this before we got into
anything but you just made me feel so good and relaxed that I wasn't
thinking about it.  You can go on a date with another person, have sex with
other girls if you want.  We get to explore the world and our sexuality and
if after a while we find that we really do love each other then we move
onto the next stage in our relationship, but at least we won't have any
doubts.  I know it may not be what you want but it's what I need right now.
After what I went through with Rick, I'm not ready to totally settle down
right now.  I really do like you a lot Tommy but I don't want this to be
something both of us regret.  If you have a problem with this then just
tell me now and I hope we can both be friends still." Andrea stopped. 
Tommy could tell from the stress in her voice that this was difficult for
her.  "Alright Andrea.  Here's the deal.  I think I can handle this for
now, I don't really know what's going to happen but if this is what you
need then I'll take it because I'd rather have part of you then none of you
at all.  But you have to promise me that if we do break up, you will still
be my friend if nothing else is it a deal." Tommy said.  "It's a deal
Tommy, and I promise we will still be friends no matter what forever."
Andrea told him.  Their something special about the first person you make
real love to and it's hard to ever forget them.  The rest of their
conversation was pretty simple; they talked more about school and each
other.  Andrea told him that she was playing on the Junior Varsity soccer
team.  Tommy said he would come and watch the games if he could.  They
talked for a long time and Tommy still had the phone to his ear when he
fell a sleep.  His brain needed a rest after everything that had happened
in the past couple days.
