He managed to leave out anything specific from his report and only told the chief a bare minimum of what he had found out including omitting the long list of rules that had been outlined to him by David the bartender. then after telling him he was going to be returning to the club later that evening to continue his investigation he was once more in his car onto his regular duties. That evening found him once again parked outside the club watching the various patrons enter. He had been early to watch the children enter and was delighted when a car had pulled up and Kim had skipped happily into the club. He had not been able to get her out of his head all day and was afraid she might not be there that night. He could not take his eyes from her butt as she skipped her way into the club's front doors. He waited a while observing the crowd and letting the club fill up before steeling up his courage he once more found himself walking in the front door and looking around. He'd been half afraid the Kim would have no interest in talking to him that night but if anything it seemed she had been watching for him, she was at his side almost at once. Taking his hand and leading him to a table near the far wall where they could have a private conversation. They were soon chatting about everything under the sun.Sshe was telling him about school and her home life. Kim said she was in 4th grade and a straight A student, she told him how she had been into dance until just last year when she had grown bored with it. She chatted on and on telling him her life story and asking him a ton of questions about himself. Even as he learned about her family that she was an only child of happily married parents. She learned that he had never married having a string of unsuccessful relationships. He learned how it came about that she was invited to join the staff at the club and she found out that he was a police officer and had been since getting out of college. He ended up telling her how he had grown up the middle child of 5 kids in a small midwestern town. He told her how he had always wanted to be a cop and was living his dream such as it was. He had been stuck in a rut for years now in his personal life he'd told her truthfully. He opened up and told her about his loneliness and no matter how hard he tried he just never fit in anywhere. Somewhere in the 2 hour conversation Kim had went from sitting across the table from him to sitting on his lap her arms around his neck. Then in a pause in the conversation she kissed him. Gently but firmly on the lips. He found himself responding in kind enjoying the first kiss he'd had in a very long time. They spent that evening together just enjoying each others company becoming comfortable in one another arms and slowly in one another's hearts. They kissed and hugged a lot that night enjoying the close personal contact learning to trust each other as equals. Grey didn't learn anything he could report to his boss that night but he did learn a great deal about himself. He learned that he could be comfortable getting close to another human being. That he was able to kiss another person without thinking that the next step must be to get her into bed. But most of all he was coming to terms with the fact that he was extremely sexually attracted to this precocious child and that he could not get her face out of his mind even for a minute. The thought actually crossed his mind that he was falling in love with her. The night passed all too quickly and soon Kim had to go home, his mind was in turmoil as he walked her to the clubs door and kissing her goodnight watched her longingly as she once more walked out of his life. Grey found himself at the bar once more ordering a beer and chatting with David the bartender who had been at the guest bar the first night Grey had entered the club. He was at his normal station this night as the members bartender. He was soon bending David's ear about how great he thought the club was and especially how great Kim was. David was just grinning ear to ear as he went on and on about that sweet sexy little girl. -got you hooked on her already don't she. - he said knowingly. -just don't go getting possessive on her she is a free agent and if she decides she spends her time with you that is her choice, but if she finds someone else she wants to spend time with more you just have to accept it, do you understand? - Grey was shaking his head yes even though inside his mind he was shouting -no! No! - Grey spent the next few evenings at the club -investigating - without seeing Kim at all. He had already learned everything he could about her and her family, where she went to school, where her parents worked in fact everything a cop could dig up without actually interviewing the family. He knew from the rules that he didn't dare contact her outside of the club or he would lose his membership and at that point it was the last thing he wanted to do. He did have a great many conversations with other children in the club and with David the bartender, and even with Mike and the lovely girl Samantha who it turned out was Mike's wife. On more than one occasion he had been invited into the backrooms after a long chat with a child only to gently rebuff them by saying -thanks I'd love to but just not tonight, perhaps another time though. - he found he enjoyed talking to the children both the girls and even the boys than he had ever liked talking to his exes and was surprised at the first time he'd been invited in the back by a boy and had actually been tempted to go. he had never thought he could be attracted to a boy but there it was a huge raging hard on just from spending time with him. Investigating the club was a real learning experience for him He was learning new things about himself everyday. But even with all of the new temptations afforded him he was just determined that he was waiting on Kim, it was she who had first stolen his heart. After a few days Mike had asked him if he were enjoying the club, he'd noticed that Grey had not taken advantage of any of the invitations to visit the back rooms yet. -oh everything is wonderful - Grey had told him smiling -I'm just waiting on the right moment. - he assured him. -well don't worry . - mike had said grinning she'll be back in a couple of days. Meanwhile have fun. - and with that he was off across the club to attend to his nightly duties of seeing that the club ran smoothly. He was reporting each day that absolutely nothing was going on inside the club that was any concern of the police and arguing that they should drop the case and move on into looking at real crimes again. Without any results his boss was happy with, the chief in disgusts pulls Grey off of the assignment and throws him out of his office telling him to get back to work.
