 == Chapter 21 =

   == Angie prepares for the party =

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Angie walks around the
basement looking and smiling.  She -(TM)s almost got everything planned for
Mike -(TM)s coming out party.  She thought about having a big party at the
club but decided Mike probably wouldn -(TM)t like the idea of so much
public sex.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">She pours herself a glass
of rum and looks around before making a phone call to a party supply store
to buy a bunch of balloons.  She goes to the fog machine and makes sure it
works.  The floor begins filling with a thick smoke.  She nods and says, 
-�Check -� as she continues her walk through.  She gets a call from the
party supply store saying they -(TM)re at the door.</div>

   == Kit gets a date =

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Kit puts her purse up and
sits down noticed a folded piece of paper with a hello sticker holding the
tri fold ends together.  Jen looks down and says,  -�What -(TM)s that?  
-�Kit smiles and says,  -�It -(TM)s an invitation for Spec to my brother
-(TM)s party.  He just recently came out being bisexual -�.  Jen nods and
goes back to work.  Kit sighs wanting to invite her but Angie said only
ones she has invitations for and they can bring a plus one.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">She stands up and goes to
the floor and asks Spec to talk in private.  He nods and takes her into the
storage room and asks,  -�Is everything okay? -� Kit nods and says,  -�I
feel weird doing this, but Angie wanted me to give this to you.  I swear it
-(TM)s not anything bad.  It -(TM)s for my brother -�.  Spec opens the
envelope</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">You're invited to Michael
Lee Mathews coming out party, to celebrate his acceptance of the new life
style.  Please bring a gift and a plus one.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Spec chuckles and says, 
-�Okay, sounds fun -�.  Kit smiles and says,  -�She says she wants me to be
a host -�.  Spec nods understanding.  Kit, with big almost puppy dog
looking eyes says,  -�She got me a sparkly dress too -�.  Spec shakes his
head, smiling as she walks off to go back to work.  Before she could get
far Spec called out,  -�Hey, what should I get your brother? -�</div>

   == Chase falls =

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">A pale white wolf walks
up to Chase at the construction site.  He -(TM)s wearing his hard hat and
carrying two, two by fours on his shoulder.  She smiles and says,  -�Oh, I
love a strong construction worker. -� Chase nods and says,  -�Hey, but
sorry I have to work -�.  She smiles and re positioned her v neck t shirt
so he can see her cleavage and says,  -�Can -(TM)t you take a break -�. 
Chase hasn -(TM)t looked at her and says,  -�Mam, I have a job to do. -� He
lays the boards down and puts a rope on both ends before climbing up while
a coworker pulls the boards up.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">The woman comes every day
at this time, usually drinking something cold on a hot day.  She usually
wears a low cut V-neck shirt to show off her large chest, asking him if he
wants something but policy forbids he talk to anyone other than those
working at the site.  Unless it -(TM)s to tell them where the foreman is.

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">He -(TM)s almost to the
top when a big gust of wind blows his ladder backwards he thrust his weight
forward trying to beat the wind but it -(TM)s a losing battle as he falls
backwards.  He jumps right before hitting the ground and begins rolling so
he doesn -(TM)t get hurt as bad if the ladder falls on him, and to lessen
the impact.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">When he makes contactm he
feels a sharp pain in his wrist.  When he stops rolling the pain begins to
radiate up his arm.  He grabs it and takes off his work gloves to see it
beginning to swell, and yells,  -�SHIT! -� The white wolf runs and says, 
-�Oh God, are you alright? -� he tries to stand but feels a hand push him
back down.  The wolf says,  -�Here, let me look at it.  I -(TM)m a nurse.
-� The man that pushed him back down is the site foreman.  He nods and
says,  -�Okay, let her look at it. -� Chase groans and gives him a look of
disgust.  She touches it and says,  -�It looks like a sprain but better get
an x-ray to be safe. -� His foreman nods and yells,  -�Hey Dan!  you ain
-(TM)t doing anything important.  Take Chase to the ER, he had a fall. -�
Dan, a middle aged black lab nods and helps Chase up to his truck.  The
wolf helps him also and says,  -�You -(TM)ll be back in no time. -�</div>

   == Chase in the ER =

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">His wait wasn -(TM)t very
long, but he hears the last thing he wanted to after the doctor returned
with his x-ray.   -�Well, the good news, it isn -(TM)t broken.  But it is a
bad sprain.  That will take you off the job for a few weeks. -� Chase
groans and says,  -�My brother is already off -�.  </div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">He looks at the doctor
and says,  -�Doc, am I done here?  The doctor nods and says,  -�Yes, just
make sure to give that some rest -� he says as he writes something down in
his prescription book., "Here -(TM)s something for the pain.  It -(TM)s
ibuprofen".  Chase nods and gets up, pulling his phone out.  He calls his
foreman and tells him the bad news and adds,  -�Oh Bud, I just remembered
something.  That wolf that keeps bugging me every day. -� Bud replies, 
-�Chase, it was a accident, the wind blew your ladder over it was a big
gust -�, he laughs.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Chase groans, now outside
with Dan walking back to his truck.   -�I think it -(TM)s weird that only
mine blew over -� His foreman groans and says,  -�Chase, quit trying to
find a problem where their ain -(TM)t one.  For one, that wolf of yours has
been hanging out at the site way before you showed up.  Some girls like
construction workers, sorry.  She -(TM)s easy as hell and before I became
foreman, the guys would take her to the bathroom and give her what she
wants.  I use to chase her off, but gave up when she would return with
friends.  She -(TM)s just a whore, ignore her. -� </div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Chase hangs up and says,
-�Fuck -� as they pull out onto the road.  Dan nods and says,  -�Yeah.  I
fell three stories once.  Broke by right leg and two ribs.  All because I
was checking out this hot chick that use to sit on her roof sunning.  She
would... -� Chase looks not listening because they're drifting into the
other lane.  Chase grabs the wheel and says,  -�Dan, road.  You were in the
other lane -�.  Dan nods and says,  -�Damn, need something to drink -�.  He
pulls a flask from under the seat, opens it, and takes a swig.  Chase is
shaking his head and says,  -�Okay, I can walk.  Pull over -�.  Dan ignores
him and says,  -�Here, take a swig it -(TM)ll make you fill better -�. 
Chase shakes his head and says,  -�Dan, please pull over.  I -(TM)ll tell
the boss I just needed time to think.  When he sees me -�.  Dan pushes the
bottle towards Chase and says,  -�Take a swig, your off for a bit.  Go on.
-� Chase pushes the bottle trying to open the door and says,  -�Dan I don
-(TM)t like this -�.  Dan says, "Here, sniff it -�, and puts the bottle to
Chase nose.  Chase sniffs it thinking something ain -(TM)t right.  Out of
curiosity, he takes a drink.   -�Water? -�</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Dan cracks up and says, 
-�Can -(TM)t have you running to the boss saying I -(TM)ve been drinking
when I -(TM)m five years sober.  Hell that day I fell woke me up.  Come to
find out that hot girl sunning herself. -� He looks over to Chase for a
second and says,  -�Was a pile of leaves -�.  He pulls down the visor and
puts on some glasses and says,  -�Come to find out I need glasses.  The
only offence I did here today was driving without them".  Chase sighs and
says,  -�Would you mind taking me home -�?  Dan shakes his head and says, 
-�Boss wants to talk to you first -�.  Chase nods and relaxes.  </div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Dan smiles and says, 
-�But yeah, that day I fell.  I saw that and staggered a bit because I had
about three glasses of rum before going to work.  Made me decide it -(TM)s
time to quit. -� Chase nods and says,  -�Well congratulations, but why do
you use a flask to drink water -�?  Dan shrugs and says,  -�I like the feel
of it.  Plus, it gives people a good scare.  Just don -(TM)t do it with the
cops.  They get pissed. -� Chase don -(TM)t ask what happened with the
cops. he -(TM)s waiting on him to tell him, but they'er quite the rest of
the way back to the site.</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">When they get there, Dan
goes back to his job of picking up trash and various other things.  Chase
walks to the foreman and says,  -�Well Bud, the doc gave me three weeks off
-�, and hands him the paper.  The foreman says,  -�Well bring Mike back
when you return. -� Chase nods and says,  -�Okay, but I think the doctor is
going to release him soon. -� Bud nods and says, "Well, tell him to get his
ass here." Chase nods and says, "Will do.  See you in a few weeks."</div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">On the way back to his
own truck the wolf from earlier walk up to him and says,  -�Hey -�.  Chase
shakes his head and says,  -�Please, I don -(TM)t do hook ups. -� Right
then a white fox walks up and says,  -�Hey slut leave him alone -�.  The
wolf rolls her eyes and says,  -�Hey whore, this is my corner. -� Chase
looks back and forth before getting in his truck and leaving.  He says, 
-�Damn I can -(TM)t wait till this house is done.  I -(TM)m getting a new
job.  I should have known a housing complex would be nuts to work for.

   == The final details =

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Kit walks down to the
basement and sits at the bar where Angie is standing behind doing some math
on a piece of paper.  Kit smiles and says,  -�You -(TM)re really putting a
lot of work into this -�.  Angie nods and says,  -�This is what I do.  My
reputation is on the line.  Sorry to sound bad.  I love Mike and I -(TM)m
doing this for him, not me but I do have to do this right.  Never know
where a new customer might be".  Kit nods and says,  -�I know Angie, your
job at the club comes before Spec -(TM)s. -� Angie nods and says,  -�Yeah,
this is my dream.  Sorry it -(TM)s not being a bookkeeper.  I know you
really want to be an artist. -� Kit blushes and says,  -�I ain -(TM)t drew
in years.  Besides those pony drawings Chase jacks off to. -� Angie goes on
talking and says,  -�Hell, look at Spec.  I -(TM)m sure his ain -(TM)t
owning a bookstore ether.  For all we know he could be throwing sex parties
in his basement where he fucks his sibling. -� Kit almost gets chocked up
but laughs innocently.  </div>

   <div style="margin-left:0in;margin-right:0in;">Angie polishes the table
and says,  -�Did you give Spec his invite?   -�Kit nods and says,  -�Yeah
-�.  Angie nods and says,  -�Good.  In three days we -(TM)ll get this thing
going".  Kit sighs and says, "Can you get me a bourbon?  " Angie smiles and
says, "Straight to the hard stuff huh?  " Kit nods and says, "rough day at
work.  Spec really nailed me hard".  Angie groans and says, "Cheap shit for
you".  Kit snarls her nose when she sees Kentucky -(TM)s Pride being pulled
from under the bar.  She then mouths,  -(TM)yuck -(TM).  Kit lays her face
down and says, "Angie." Angie smiles knowing she -(TM)s getting to her.
