I'm doing a new series, a life story of sorts. I've been working on
it for a long time, over a year. Some of you might remember my
posting two segments of this series last year. I didn't plan for it
to take so long to continue. It wasn't that I stopped writing on the
serial either, because I kept on it, not steady, but on a regular
basis. The problem which stopped me from posting was my desire to
have it turn out especially well, since I have a strong emotional bond
to the subject :-)

In the meantime, I wrote and posted other stories. That gave me
practice in writing, which I applied to the JZL series, and feedback
from people who appreciated what I was doing. That part was very
excellent. Yet I kept coming back to this serial, not wanting to give
up on it. There were times when I thought about not posting it,
because it is rather revealing. On the whole, though, writing about
things which really happened makes for a different kind of tale than
one which is simply made up, and it is fun doing that.

The intro sections explain more about the serial, and what does on in
it. Since I start my story at a young age (five), it doesn't get into
sex as such for a while. The events of my younger life did influence
those later, and I suspect that applies to most people. My intros and
the story codes explain when things get closer to real sex. My "first
time" story is in chapter JZL11_05, in case you're wondering how long
you need to wait to get to that point.

I'm posting it on alt.sex.stories.moderated and alt.sex.stories (which
happens automatically when you post to ASSM). It will also be on my
web site, in its own section. I expect to keep the web site a chapter
or two ahead of my newsgroup posting. That gives me a little more
time to work on things before posting it here, while giving my loyal
readers a chance to see more of it first. For my posting schedule,
I'd like to do one part a week, but I can't guarantee that. However,
I do have a lot of stuff written for it already, just needing to
finish for posting, so I'm sure I can do that for some time, and
barring real life getting in the way, probably forever

Since my serial starts with my early youth, it will be a while before
it gets into my adult years. I don't plan to go past my college
period, but that is a long time down the road in the story. I figure
that there are enough interesting things to talk about in each year to
make a dozen chapters or more.

One issue with series and serials is that you might feel like you've
missed too much if you start reading it in the middle. Knowing what
has happened before helps you understand what is going on in the
current chapter. That is a good thing about longer stories, that more
details can fit within it. In a life story sort of thing, this might
be less vital. Yes, what happens before has an effect, but life goes
on anyway. Each part is in its own tale. Some chapters do have
closely linked events split over several parts, but most do get to
some sort of break point in the tale. I do think that you'll be able
to jump in at some point later in the series and still be able to
understand what is going on without reading everything first.

OTOH, you might want to read it all anyway. For right now, I don't
think that will be a problem, with only a few chapters out, but I like
to plan ahead.
