The material in the .txt files is the generally  same as that on
  the website.  (i.e. in the www directory)

  The website gives you the convenience of word counts and summaries
  appearing on the index page, plus the typesetting ought to be easier on
  the eyes than the gritty fixed-width text in the .txt files;  however,
  the .txt files benefit from the auto-scrolling that asstr provides.
