   THE DEMONSTRATION

   ". . .  Ladies and Gentlemen, a special guest is about to take the floor
and he really needs no introduction from me, I realize.  He has done more
than most to inspire us, to lead us, and to provide a great social vision
for the whole of society that has the potential of greatly increasing the
corporate bottom line, to say nothing of enriching our lives exponentially.
I am, of course, speaking of the President and CEO of American Service
Industries (ASI), one of the founders of our organization, the National
Businessmen's Association (NBA), Mr.  Steven Lord.  So please give it up
and give a warm welcome . . .  " The audience at this point gave Master the
"standing O" He so richly deserves, but frankly, His entry up to the
lectern was a complete surprise.  Mistress, i found out later, had no idea
He was to appear.



   "Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen, Masters and Mistresses, invited members
of the press, visitors, and, of course, I offer my and respect for those
properties in attendance today--and there are many--who have reached some
great milestone in their submission and devotion to servicing their
Masters, for why else would they be in attendance?



   "A hundred years ago, our ancestors would be shocked and astonished at
the tremendous changes that have occurred could they be magically
transported to be with us today.  A hundred years ago, this country, as
great as it had become, had also begun to slide inexorably into the trough
of despond, despair, and decline--both as a society and as individuals. 
The great spirit of liberty that animated the original US Constitution had
truly begun to die out, as people sacrificed their liberty for the false
promise of unlimited and unceasing security.  A hundred years ago, we were
a large-scale, welfare-statist system; and like all such mixed
systems--elements of freedom and control--it was an unstable mixture whose
internal social and political dynamic rewarded mediocrity, safety, and
security.



   "Today, fortunately, that sad picture is all behind us.  Fifty years ago
a great transformation was begun.  The original spirit of liberty, which
had been building over the years, finally burst upon the scene and a great
constitutional convention was called to deliberate on the choices before
us. Astonishingly, there were some very bright and knowledgeable delegates,
and, as we all know and celebrate, they finally realized they could no
longer tolerate half-measures and self-contradictions.  Each and every
power that had ever been delegated to government by the people had been
used by powerful pressure groups and constituencies to gain temporary
control of governmental machinery to extort revenues from some groups for
the unearned benefit of those who, at any moment, succeeding in gaining
sufficient leverage and control.



   "No longer did we citizens hear how our political leaders sought to
protect our freedom of action; no, instead we learned how this or that
party would give us a subsidy, a benefit, a privilege--all, of course, at
the expense of everybody else.  For the pressure group, the gain was
astronomic; for the general population, the loss was minimal as the tax
base was wide.  Who is going to organize and make trouble when, from an
individual's point of view, the loss was tolerable?  Over time, of course,
people began to see, and most importantly, began to feel directly, the cost
to them, for as their taxes kept rising their economic activity became
increasingly penalized.



   "The authors of our present system understood the great paradox of human
nature, that the only way a individual or a society can experience true
freedom is if it also embraces slavery.  Not, I rush to emphasize, the
unjustified race-based slavery under the antebellum regime--not at all.



   "Slavery today only affects directly those who break our mild laws
regarding the sanctity of individual rights--especially the right that is
the foundation for all other rights, since it gives the individual freedom
of economic and political action.  I describe, of course, the right of
property.



   "This is why our institution is perfectly consistent with rational
liberty.



   "Only fifty years ago, my friends, we still had penitentiaries. 
Government was intimately involved with all sorts of regulation and
taxation.  Slowly but surely the individual's power of action was being
taken away, his ownership of himself was being sacrificed to the power of
government, until, it seemed that all of us were becoming slaves to the
very government whose officials claimed to be acting in our general
interest.



   "As the debates of that remarkable era tell us, one of the great
sticking points against a radical reduction in the size and powers of
government was the argument that the state had to be in the business of
warehousing criminals and for the interests of safety, taxes had to be
levied to protect the whole of society.



   "At that precise point, the delegates reached for the great insight that
even here there was a private, non-coercive solution to the problem of what
do with criminals--those who violated the rights of others.



   "It took quite a while to reach a consensus, as there was so much
intellectual baggage and myths and irrational beliefs that had to be worked
through, and shown to be false.  But even the Thirteenth Amendment to the
original Constitution, the Article that abolished slavery, in fact, only
abolished a certain sort of slavery.  Slavery based on penal servitude was
explicitly excepted.



   "The only question then remained of how to put this great principle into
practice.



   "Today we have private courts, funded by fees paid by those who wish to
have a court settle a dispute.  Naturally, we have a national Supreme Court
and Supreme Courts for each administrative district, which is the new,
rather pedestrian name for the old States our forefathers were so familiar
with.  The only real purpose of the public courts is to provide a final
determination in disputes, where the controversy turns on the meaning of
legal terms and their application.  And, of course, we have national,
district, and local police, as well as a national military, all funded
through voluntary fees paid by those wishing the security of contracts that
is provided by the court system.



   "The United People of America (UPA) are now the freest society on the
face of the earth--all due to the fact that we have succeeded brilliantly
in reducing the role of government virtually to the status of "night
watchman." It protects us from foreign invasion and provides the final
determination in criminal and civil cases appealed to it through the
competitive and private court system that has developed over the last fifty
years.



   "But I need to remind everyone here of a very important corollary to
this great culture of freedom and individual responsibility.  If you
violate our laws, if you violate the rights of another, you will be fined
heavily, and if you cannot pay the fine, then it is as certain as the sun,
the moon, and the stars, that you will be enslaved and you will be expected
to surrender not merely your body, but your mind and your spirit into the
service of those to whom you are indebted.  Your debtors now OWN you, and
you have a great and abiding moral, as well as legal, obligation to put
yourself in their service.



   "We at ASI are dedicated to the discovery and the implementation of
those principles that will optimally assist the enslaved to fulfill their
obligations, and help them to see that it is not merely an obligation, but
also a real gift that they make, and that if they surrender completely,
instead of living with a sense of depression and dread and sorrow for their
failures as citizens, or, need I say, a sense of anger and rebellion, they
can still make of their lives a success by surrendering complete control to
their Masters--to those folks who know about compassion and know how to put
the slave to productive use.  What could be more beautiful?



   "We, of course, provide the services of hundreds of thousands of slaves
throughout the country to the many businesses and private families who have
need of slave labor and talent.  We also provide all manner of educational
services to help assist Masters in their mastery.



   "We ceaselessly urge all Masters, for example, to make a habit of
keeping their slaves naked, their bodies physically well-developed, and
their minds well-stocked with useful information and the ability to act
intelligently as high-level tasks are delegated to them by their Masters.



   "This is our ideal.  We envision a society where previous failure
becomes transformed into brilliant and beautiful success.  Who does not
appreciate the power of beauty as any of us walks through a shopping mall,
for example, and are witness, if we pay attention, to the muscular,
well-formed, naked male slaves that work as clerks, personal servants,
janitors, and food service people?  What you may not know is that many of
these businesses are under the direct control of highly intelligent human
slaves who work as extensions of their Masters.



   "This system simply could not work were the State in charge of the
slaves.  Only private Masters, who have a direct, personal interest in the
welfare of their property can be trusted to use and dispose of their
property in this manner, putting their property to its highest use under
any given set of circumstances.



   "Well, it is time, I think, to make an exciting announcement to this
elite audience, an audience I feel, that is best positioned to take
advantage of a new service ASI will begin to offer.  In fact, we will be
taking orders from just this particular audience today and for a short
period into the future.



   "I'd like to introduce to you today a man sitting in the audience next
to my delightful wife . . .  Serena . . .  where are you?  Ah . . .  yes!
Serena, dear, please permit Jackson to rise and come up beside me on the
podium.



   "Ladies and Gentlemen, Jackson here is a big handsome man in his late
forties.  He is, as you see, dressed to kill, if I may say so, in a
beautifully tailored navy blue suit, white shirt, power tie, polished
shoes, and looks for all intents and purposes as one of my chief business
executives.  He could, in fact, be anyone's or any company's CEO.  He
definitely has the smarts--I know because I've worked with him for over ten
years now and the man has made me literally billions of dollars.



   "Did you know that one of our most profitable and competitive products
is the ordinary slave chow and slave biscuits you can purchase at any
grocery store you wish?  Jackson here developed that particular program.  I
should also let you in on a little secret.  Jackson is also a trained
surgeon, having earned his MD from Johns Hopkins, about fifteen years ago,
one of their youngest graduates!



   "Well, this isn't the venue for going into the twists and turns of fate
that left Jackson standing at auction at one of the local courts in this
very city.  Purchasing Jackson was the single smartest business decision,
though, I ever made in my long and somewhat successful career!  But am I
seeing some looks from the audience that suggest I'm trying to pull a fast
one on you?  That this guy isn't really a slave?



   "Jackson, my friends, is as much a piece of my property as is my
corporate jet or my dog.  There is no ego with Jackson.  He delights in
doing whatever it is I want him to do, for it is his supreme pleasure to
serve me in any capacity I choose to put him.



   "Without further ado, Jackson!  Stand up on the small, circular dais out
there to the right.  Our host this evening, Chuck Downs, has arranged a
little "light and strip" show for your delight and amusement, so the
background lighting will dim slightly and an overhead spotlight will flood
down upon Jackson as he strips right in front of you.  Just toss the
clothes on that solitary chair Jackson.



   "As you can see, Ladies and Gentlemen, this property, all six feet four
inches of him, all 260 pounds of him, is solid, dense, lean muscle.  His
physique, I am sure you agree, puts any Greek or Roman statue of a muscular
god to shame in comparison.  Jackson, I want you to assume the Standing
Display position for our audience.



   "See, Ladies and Gentlemen, the extraordinary musculature of this fine
animal.  He is not only amazingly strong, he is highly skilled physically.
He practices daily, not only his usual weight-lifting routine, but an hour,
minimum, of gymnastics exercises.  I should point out that physically he is
still growing.  My sense is he will probably top out at about 280 or 285

   "Now I am sure all of you have seen remarkably beautiful male slaves
before, whether they've participated in bodybuilding contests or not, but
I'll tell you one thing, you won't see such a slave, that looks anywhere as
beautiful as this slave, much past the age of 28 or 30 years of age.

profit an owner can make on their labor or, as the case may be, talent.



   "At ASI, Jackson initiated a program we all call THE NEW BIRTH, and he
is the first and foremost example of what we think we can expect as we
ratchet up the program.



   "Chuck, can you lower the overhead microphone so the audience can hear
Jackson?  Thanks.



   "Jackson, I want you to explain briefly to our audience a little of the
background to the program, its goals, what we do, and so forth.  "



   "Yes Master, Thank You Master!  Masters and Mistresses, Ladies and
Gentlemen, brother slaves, this slave thanks you for your presence here
today to hear Master's introduction to this really exciting program.



   "Perhaps the best way to introduce Master's philosophy and goals is to
use myself as the example.



   "Simply put, a property my age presents problems for its Owner, largely
of an economic nature.  THE NEW BIRTH program is designed specifically for
such an Owner, either One Who has an existing property that is approaching
the end of its useful life, or One Who may, as now seems possible and
everyday more probable, actually be considering the purchase of an older

the program, not merely in regard to their physical health and mentality,
their talents and abilities of whatever nature, but also the degree of

runner, for example, when the basic body structure would be more

and prostate.  Studies have also shown that steroid use is a risk factor
for heart disease, which is due to the fact that steroids affect
cholesterol levels.  Over a period of time the cholesterol builds up and
clogs the arteries.  There are a number of these risk factors and other
side effect that we believe can be significantly attenuated if not
eliminated altogether with careful management.



   "But who would argue that early termination is preferable to running one
or more such risks?



   "The desire of properties to continue to be able to offer their bodies
and minds for the use and disposal of their Owners, is, of course obvious.
Owners not only benefit by increased longevity, which increases Return On
Investment (ROI), but they continue to benefit on the intellectual/mental
side of the equation.  Today we increasingly see the benefit to the
corporate bottom line by introducing highly trained properties whose
primary contribution is intellectual, managerial, and professional.



   "Today we have lawyers, dentists, doctors, surveyors, geologists,

to put the property in question.
