   Trip To Grammy's

   There was a knock on the door.  Even though it was early for callers,
Jani knew who it would be.  She opened it and Edith stepped in, carrying a
small bag.  "How are you doing Jani?  Are you looking forward to going to
your granny's?  I heard she has all kinds of things planned to do in San
Antonio," Edith said as she walked past.  She went over to the couch and
dropped her bag then began to unbutton her blouse.  Raising her voice, she
called out, "You about ready, Sally?"

   Sally came into the living room pulling her rolling suitcase behind her.
Sally took one look at the half-dressed woman and said, "Why didn't you
come back into the bedroom to change out of your uniform?"

   "What?  Hey, we're all girls here.  What does it matter anyway?  They
can't see me from the street."

   "Yeah but Jani is still a girl, maybe you shouldn't be undressing in
front of her."

   "I'm not a girl!  I'll be ten next month," Jani protested.

   "See you don't have a little girl there, she's growing up.  She'll
probably have some tits of her own before long," Edith said to Jani's
mother while holding her breasts in her hands.  Talking more to herself,
Edith said, "I gotta get out of this," as she unhooked her bra.

   Jani stared at Edith's large breasts, the size of cantaloupes, and just
as round.  She had never seen another girl or woman naked before, not even
her mom.  Edith noticed her looking, "You like 'em Jani?  Maybe you'll have
some like this someday."

   "Wow they're big!" the girl exclaimed.  "How big are they?"

   "My girls are double D's.  You like `em?" She said as she put her hands
under them to heft them.  Giving a look to Sally she said, "I think your
mom does too."

   "That's about enough of that kind of talk!  And Jani don't be getting
your heart set on getting some monsters like that, you'll probably be the
same size as me and your Grammy," she said in a cheeky tone to her
girlfriend.  "Come on Jani, let's get your suitcase and fix your hair."

   Jani took a quick look at her mother's chest, she had something there,
but not all that much, certainly not like Edith's.

   Sally led her daughter back to Jani's room.  She had Jani stand in front
of her with her back to her.  Sally brushed her hair then began to divide
the long light brown hair into three strands, which she wove into a plat
that would hang down to the middle of her back.  While she did that, she
questioned Jani, "Did you pack your swimsuit?"

   "Yeah," the girl said.

   "How many pairs of underwear did you pack?"

   "Eight."

   "You should pack some extras; you know just in case."

   "Mom, I'm not going to wet my pants!" Jani protested indigently.

   "I know but it is always a good idea to pack a few extra, you never know
when you might need them.  Did you pack the dresses I laid out for you?"

   "Yeah."

   "And you have shorts and pants?  And you have plenty of T-shirts?"

   "Yes, Mom," Jani said exasperated that her mom was back micromanaging
things again.

   "You need a couple of nice blouses as well as your T-shirts."

   "I know, Mom!  I'm not a little girl!  I packed everything you said."

   "Okay good, but let's get those extra panties in there," Sally said as
she finished the braid, and gave her daughter a pat on her butt.

   Jani knew that she was done and went over to her dresser and pulled out
a few more pairs of panties.  She opened her suitcase and put them inside.
Closing it, she took it off the bed.  She pulled it on the rollers behind
her as they went back to the living room.

   Edith was dressed in pants and loose-fitting top.  She was hanging up
her uniform in the living room closet.  Seeing Jani and Sally, she said,
"Okay let's get this show on the road we got a ship to catch." She led them
out to her club cab pick-up truck.  Placing the suitcases in one side of
the back, Jani knew enough to climb in next to them.  Edith and her mother
got in the front.

   As they started to back out of the driveway, Jani asked, "Mom how come
we're not taking our car?"

   "Because it is long drive to your grandmother's, and I don't trust my
car to get us there without any problems.  Besides Edith is a better driver
than me for long distances," Sally said as she turned her eyes to the other
woman, her eyes had a smile in them for her.

   Edith turned to look over at Sally, catching her look, she pursed her
lips in the form of a kiss.

   After about an hour of riding over the west Texas roads Jani was getting
bored, and she asked, "Mom how come I can't go on the cruise with you?"

   "Because it is a cruise for adults."

   "How come they don't have any kids just adults?"

   "It's not a place for kids.  It's for adults.  There are things there
that are for adults that's the kind of cruise it is."

   "Why don't they make one that I could go on too."

   "Well Jani, this is a cruise for rainbow adults," Edith offered.

   "Rainbow adults," Jani asked a bit puzzled.  "You mean like the rainbow
sticker you have on your truck?"

   "Yeah it's like that, it is for everyone who gathers under that flag."

   "How come you don't gather under the Texas flag."

   "Well we are Texans, but we are more than Texans.  We are kind of
special people, so that's why we have our own flag."

   "What makes you different?"

   "Your mom and I are good friends and we like to spend time together. 
That makes us different."

   "You're good friends, and that's why you do sleep overs with her?" Jani
asked Edith.

   "Yeah, your mom is my special friend and we like to spend time together,
that's why we do sleepovers." Edith said looking in her rear-view mirror to
see the girl in the back seat.

   "Mom, if I have a special friend, I can have sleepovers too?" Jani said
as she looked at the back of her mother's head.

   Edith snorted a little laugh.  Sally gave her dirty look, to shut her up
about this subject.  "I think if you get a little older and you have a
special friend you can do sleepovers too.  Did you see the book Edith left
in the back?  It is filled with all the things you can do in San Antonio."
Sally said to change the subject.

   Jani found it and began to read it.  It quieted her questions as she
looked at the pictures and read the articles.  It took a while, but she
could tell she was getting near grandmother's house when she began to
recognize things along the road.  Jani couldn't wait to get there.  At
least in part she wanted to get there because it had been a while since the
last pit stop.

   When she got there, there was quick hello to her gram and a dash to the
bathroom in the house.  While she did that Edith got out Jani's suitcase
while Sally greeted her mother.

   "You'll be fine with Jani?  We'll be gone eight days."

   "Of course, I love seeing you all and Jani doesn't come near enough for
visits.  When does the ship sail?" Joyce, Sally's mother asked.

   "Early tomorrow, from Galveston.  We'll get a room there tonight and
board the ship in the early morning, we sail about 8AM," Edith answered
her.

   "You two enjoy your trip, I bet it will be a very romantic cruise."

   "I hope so!  We've been needing to get away for so long from prying eyes
and snoopy noses that make it difficult to show our love," Sally said as
she put her arm around Edith.

   "Hopefully that will all change soon enough, that people like us are
more accepted as normal people," Joyce said.

   Jani came back out and ran to her mother, "You didn't leave without
saying goodbye.  I was hoping you were still here, but I had to go pee so
bad," Jani said as she hugged her mother.

   "We wouldn't leave without saying goodbye," Sally said as she bent down
to take her daughter in her arms.  Sally and Jani exchanged kisses then
Sally got back in the truck beside Edith.  "You mind your Grammy, and I'll
see you in a few days.  Bye Jani," Sally said as she waved goodbye to her
daughter and mother.

   The truck drove off, and it was then that Jani remembered the book in
the back seat.  She started to run after the truck, but it picked up speed
and was quickly gone.  Jani turned back to her grandmother, "Grammy I
forgot my book telling all about San Antonio."

   "That's Okay, I have lots of tour books.  Besides you don't need books,
you're going to see the real things," Joyce promised.

   The rest of the evening was spent with Jani recounting the past year at
school and what she hoped would be for the coming year.  While Joyce told
off all the things that they would go and see.  That night Joyce tucked
Jani in bed in Sally's old room.  When she did Jani looked at her
grandmother's breasts.  There was something there, not like her flat chest,
but they sure didn't stand out like Edith's.

   In the morning showers were the order of the day.  They dressed and ate
breakfast, and it was almost time to head off for their adventure in the
city an hour away.  Joyce looked at her watch, 8AM, "Well it looks like
your mom's ship should sail about now.

   It wasn't 10 minutes later that a tremendous explosion rattled the walls
and windows of the small house.  Jani raced to her grandmother's arms. 
Joyce and Jani looked out the front window.  Almost instantly a huge flame
could be seen licking up in the sky surrounded by heavy black smoke.

   "Oh, my word!" Joyce cried.  There were more explosions in rapid order.
In a couple of minutes, the air was filled with the sounds of sirens.

   "What is it Grammy?" Jani asked still looking at the huge fireball
licking up at the sky.

   "I'm afraid it was that fireworks factory.  This is gonna be lots of
trouble."

   "It won't bother us Grammy see none of the windows broke."

   "No, they didn't luckily, but it's going to affect us anyway."

   The phone rang and Joyce knew who it was, and she knew she had to answer
it.

   "We aren't going to get to San Antonio today love," she said to Jani, as
she picked up the phone.

   The voice on the other end told Joyce what she knew she would hear. 
"I'll be there as soon as I can, but I have my granddaughter here.  I'll
have to make arrangements for her before I can come in.

   "What's going on Grammy?" Jani asked.

   "I'm needed at the hospital, my vacation is canceled, at least for now.
I'm sorry dear, there are going to be lots of people who are hurt and
they're going to need all the nurses there."

   "But what about our trip?"

   "We'll have to go another time.  I'll see if you can stay today with
Caroline next door."

   Joyce called her neighbor, when she answered she said, "Caroline, this
Joyce next door, I am sure you heard the explosion.  I'm needed at the
hospital.  But I have my granddaughter here with me.  Can you take and keep
an eye on her for me, I really need this...?  She's nine almost ten, she
won't be a bother or in your way at work....Oh thanks you are a life
saver....Yes I can get her a little gym bag...  OK shorts T-shirt, and yes
she has a one piece swim suit we'll get it together and have her over there
real quick," Joyce said.

   "I have to go next door?" Jani asked.

   "Yes, you'll spend the day with Caroline, she is a very nice lady. 
You'll go with her to her work."

   "Why can't I go with you to you work?"

   "Oh baby, I wouldn't want you seeing something like that those people
are going to be hurt very badly.  There will lots of blood all around I
don't want you seeing things like that."

   "What's Caroline do?"

   "She works in a gym she teaches aerobics and she coaches the
cheerleading team.  You'll like her you'll have fun with her.  Now go get
some shorts and a T-shirt on, then get some towels and your bathing suit.
Oh, and Jani get an extra pair of panties, you may get sweaty and clean
pair of panties is so nice to put on."

   Jani turned to get the things her grandmother said, she muttered to
herself, "She's just like Mom always with the clean panties."

   While Jani packed a little gym bag Joyce gave her, Joyce put on her
hospital uniform.  She then hustled Jani next door while she raced her car
down the street to the hospital.  Jani went to the door, her gym bag in
hand not knowing who this Caroline person was, that she was going to be
stuck with today.

   She was met by a tall blond woman.  Jani marveled as the first thing she
noticed was the woman's breasts, when they caught her eye.  They weren't
bigger than Edith's for sure, they seemed to be shaped different.  Jani
couldn't put her finger on how they were different, but they intrigued her.

   As Jani was standing there gawking, Caroline said, "You must be Jani,
well come on in!" the woman said more as a statement than question.  Jani
did so but couldn't pull her eyes away from Caroline's tits.

   Finally, she spoke "Yeah, I'm Jeanette Clark but everybody calls me
Jani."

   "Nice to meet you Jani, I'm Caroline Tarrent.  So, you're visiting your
granny?  Do you come every summer to see her?"

   "No, I had to come because my mom went on a cruise, and I couldn't go."

   "A cruise that sounds like fun, how come you couldn't go?"

   "Mom said it's only for a adults so I couldn't go," Jani said with that
tone she used when she was moping about something.

   "Oh, only for adults, sounds like it could have been a nice romantic
cruise, for your mother and father."

   "I don't have a father, just mom."

   "Did your mom go alone?" Caroline said as she sat back down at the table
to finish her coffee, wondering if it was a singles cruse.  "Do you want
something to eat, did you already have breakfast?"

   "No thank you.  We'd already ate when that place blew up.  You know it
sacred the devil out of me," Jani said now braver about it now than before.

   "Yeah it was pretty powerful.  I hope too many people weren't hurt."

   "Grammy says that she thinks there will be a lot of people hurt that's
why they called her in."

   "So, do you live around here?"

   "No, we live in Castle Rock."

   "Where's that?  I never heard of it."

   "It's about an hour east of El Paso."

   "Why do you live so far out there if your grandmother is here?" Caroline
said between sips of her coffee.

   "That's where mom works."

   "What does your mom do?"

   "She's a nurse."

   "Oh, like your grandmother.  But why all the way out there?  There are
lots of hospitals all over Texas, I'm sure she could have found one closer
to your grandmother.  Or maybe she didn't want to be close to her mother?"
Caroline said with a little fish in her question.

   "Mom works there because that's where the prison is."

   "Your mom works in a prison?  Wow she must be pretty tough!  That's kind
of dangerous isn't it?  There must be some pretty bad guys in there."

   "Mom says it not so bad, it a woman's prison, and she works in the
infirmary."

   "Why did she choose to work in a prison?"

   "Because that's where Edith works."

   "Who's Edith?"

   "She's my mom's friend, she is a guard at the prison."

   "If she is your mom's friend, how come you didn't stay with her?"

   "She went on the cruise too?"

   "She's not married?"

   "No, they went together.  Edith said it was some kind of a rainbow
cruise."

   "What's a Rainbow cruise?" Caroline asked.

   "Yeah you know like they have those rainbow flags.  Edith has one on her
truck."

   "Oh!  I see." The lights were coming on.  She thought: "It looks like
Jani's mother is lesbian." She knew that Joyce's last name was Clark.  So,
her daughter was also a Clark," Caroline thought.  Joyce always seemed to
be friendly towards lesbians also.  She kinda suspected her to be lesbian
too.  This seemed to be more evidence that the grandmother and mother of
this girl were.

   "Well Jani, let's get going, and I hope you don't get too bored in the
morning.  The afternoon might be better for you.  Come on let's go,"
Caroline said as she picked up her gym bag.  Jani got hers and followed
behind.

   "What I do in the mornings is supervise weight training and I coach
people who are working out and trying to lose some weight.  If you want to
use any of the equipment, you can, I will show you how they work.  You can
watch me when I work with people, but just stay back a bit out of the way."

   There were a couple of regulars and Caroline put them through their
paces.  She glanced over at Jani now and then.  She was working on some of
the weight machines or the treadmill.  She figured them out by watching
some of the other patrons of the club.

   Soon it was lunch time.  When she went by the front desk, Lois handed
Caroline a phone message.  It was from Joyce, with a number.  Caroline
called it took a minute for Joyce to answer.  When she did, she asked for
if she could call her back in a couple of minutes.  Five minutes Joyce
called her saying that she was so busy, and she was going to be working
late maybe until as late as 10 PM and asked if she could feed Jani and keep
her until Joyce could come and get her tonight.  Caroline agreed.

   "Come on Jani, let's get something to eat.  It looks as if you're going
to be with me for some time."

   "Where's my Grammy?"

   "It sounds like they are very busy at the hospital.  Are you Okay
staying with me this evening?"

   "I guess that will be Okay."

   They ate salads and chicken sandwiches, chased down with a bottle water.
This was a bit different from the burgers and sodas that Jani would have
normally had.

   After lunch Caroline taught a couple of aerobic classes.  Caroline had
on a spandex one piece that was looked more like a one-piece swimsuit but
with tights.  She told Jani to put on her swimsuit.  Jani took her suit and
went into a locker room to change, while Caroline waited.  They went into a
large room with mats on the floor.

   Caroline led the ladies though a series of movements.  Jani thought
Caroline sure could move, Jani could hardly keep up it didn't take her long
before she was out of breath and had to rest.  Jani watched Caroline's
breasts, they bounced and swayed but not as much as Jani would have thought
with all the movements Caroline was making.

   Soon enough the classes were done, and Jani thought she was going to get
a break.  But then a troop of girls came in.  They were all dressed in
leotards.  The dozen of them began to horse around and chat loudly, until
Caroline called them to attention.  Jani thought that they were
cheerleaders in training.

   "Okay, we're going to go from the beginning then I'll show you the next
steps.  Take your places."

   Jani stood back and watched the squad take their places.  Caroline
started a boombox and the girls began to move in syncopation.  Some of them
were doing cartwheels and others flips.  Finally, they reached the end of
what they had learned.  They were standing in a long line.

   "Good, you all did that right.  Now for the next step I want Krystal,
Zoe, and Kasey to take 8 steps forward.  Rene, Vanessa, and Taylor take 8
steps back.  Lisa, Sophia, and Deann you take 8 steps to your left, and
Brook, Janet, and Cindy 8 steps to your right.  Everyone starts on your
left foot.  Keep in time with the music with your steps.  Okay let's try
it." Turning to Jani she said, "Jani rewind the tape a little and then
start it."

   Jani started the tape, Caroline gave a count in and the appropriate
place she moved her hands and the girls moved, "You have to move as a
group, back to places.  Jani back up the tape again."

   It took a couple of tries but they got the movement down.  "Okay, after
that Brook, Janet, and Cindy take a step back, Lisa, Sophia, and Deann take
one step forward.  Then you will do cartwheels toward the center, back to
your place in the line.  You go one at a time but quickly.  As soon as the
girl before has stuck the landing the next girl goes.  Let's try that." The
girls did their part it only took two tries to get that movement down.

   "While they are doing that, Krystal, Zoe, and Kasey I want to you do
three back flips toward the center line.  Brook, Janet, and Cindy you do
three forward flips until you have rejoined the line.  Everyone in line. 
Okay we will first try Krystal, Zoe, and Kasey take your steps forward then
flip back into line.  Jani start the tape again."

   A couple of tries and they had it.  Then Rene, Vanessa, and Taylor tried
their part.  They had more trouble coordinating their movements.  It took
several tries before they had it.  "Okay girls we'll try it all together,
Jani run the tape back a little farther this time." Caroline counted them
in and the right moment the girls began their new movements.  They did it
fairly well.  Caroline had them do it a few more times.  They got their
movements in time with each other and moved as a unit.

   "Okay girls feel like trying it all, starting from the top?" There was a
lot of nodding of heads.  "Jani run the tape all the way back to the
beginning, places girls." Jani started the tape again and the girls began
to move, they got to the place with the new movements.  A couple of the
girls messed up their part but most of them got it.  Caroline directed Jani
to run the tape back and start again.  The girls started again, this time
they all got it.  But Caroline had them do it two more times.  Both times
they did it right.

   Looking at the clock and seeing it was already 5:30 she said, "Okay
girls good work out, I'm pleased with your progress, I think we will be
ready for the competition in October.  You can hit the showers."

   While Caroline got ready for her last aerobics class of the night.  Jani
was chatting with her.  "Where did you learn how to do those dance steps?"

   "I was a dual major in college, dance and physical education.  All those
steps I made up.  And I have a whole routine I am teaching them."

   "Where are they from?"

   "They are middle school girls from here in town."

   "Wow they're good!" Jani exclaimed.

   "Yeah, they are pretty good girls and they work hard.  I'm proud of
them."

   Just then Zoe came up wearing a two-piece bathing suit.  "Coach I can go
swimming, now can't I?"

   "Aren't your parents coming to get you?" Caroline asked.

   "No, they won't be here for an hour, so I can go swimming, it is free
swim time."

   "Yeah you can go, just don't overdo it, you just finished a workout
here." With that Caroline turned to greet her class of adults coming in.

   "You're Jani?" Zoe asked.

   "Yeah?" Jani said, unsure of what this girl's name was, she heard so
many being called out.

   "Are you going to join the squad?"

   "Oh no.  I'm just staying with Caroline today because my Grammy was
called in to work at the hospital.'

   "Your Grammy?"

   "Oh!  I mean my grandmother.  She's a nurse and they made her come to
work today because of the fire."

   "Oh yeah I saw that, they had it on the news they say some people died
and lots of them were hurt."

   "Yeah that's way I'm staying with Caroline today."

   "How old are you?" Zoe asked.

   "I'm almost ten," Jani said proudly.  "How old are you?"

   "I'm twelve," Zoe said sticking her chest out a bit to show off her
budding boobs.  "That's not a leotard you're wearing is it?"

   "No, I don't have one so Caroline said I could wear my swimsuit."

   "I'm going to go swimming since you got your suit on wanna to go with
me?"

   "Okay," Jani told her, and followed the girl back to the pool.

   Jani didn't swim very well, but Zoe was a good swimmer.  She helped Jani
to float on her back.  Zoe was holding Jani in her arms while she supported
the younger girl.  Zoe found other reasons to have her hands-on Jani's

   Zoe knew when the pool and gym center closed, but a bit before they
closed, she told Jani they would be closing soon, and they should get out
of the pool.  She led Jani back to the showers.  When Jani pointed to the
open showers, Zoe told her that there were better ones in the back.  She
led the younger girl to the private cubicles.  They took a shower with
their suits on.  But that wasn't going to cut it for Zoe.

   Zoe said to Jani, "Here let me help you get your suit off." Jani
complied but this was the first time she was naked with another girl.  Once

   It was then that Caroline found them.  It was obvious to the woman what
was going on.  She barked, "Zoe get your clothes on your mom is in the
parking lot waiting for you."

   She took Jani by the arm, "Come on let's get you dressed." Pulling her
out of the cubical she pushed Jani on ahead of her.  Caroline hesitated
then said to Zoe in a soft voice, "You shouldn't be doing that to girls as
young as her.  If you girls on the squad want to do that, keep it within
yourselves.  Don't be involving other girls in your little games."

   Caroline turned to watch Jani's naked little butt as she walked over to
the locker where she had stashed her clothes.

   Caroline's locker was around the next bank of lockers.  Jani was

   Caroline came around the corner to the banks of lockers where Jani sat

   As they drove past her grandmother's house the lights were all off, and
no car was in the drive Caroline expected that.  It wasn't a real problem,
she could feed the girl, she had leftovers, she could whip up quickly. 
Caroline had Jani hang up her swimsuit to dry in the bathroom.  Then she
dug out the leftovers.  Once the table was set, they sat down to the meal,

   "What's this?" Jani asked.

   "This is called Cinco De Mayo Chicken salad, this is tortilla soup, and
those are hush puppies, and this is collard greens."

   "I never heard of those things."

   "Then you have never had Texas cooking, you don't know what you're
missing.  Try it and see if you like."

   Jani dove it into it.  After polishing off her plate, she said, "That
was good.  Maybe I should get my mom to make some of this."

   "I can give her the recipes when she gets back from her cruise."
Caroline felt good she was making a good impression on the young girl, that
would help with being neighbors with Joyce.  After cleaning up they retired
to the living room and Caroline turned on a TV program for them to watch.

   It was after 10:30 when there was a knock on the door.  When Caroline
opened it was Joyce and she looked beat.  She said, "I hope Jani wasn't any
trouble."

   "No, she wasn't any trouble at all," Caroline told her as she opened the
door wide.

   Joyce entered and looked around the living room, no Jani.  But before
she could ask where she was, the toilet flushed, and Jani emerged from the
bathroom.  "I hate to ask you if you can keep her again tomorrow and maybe
the next.  We are so busy; I feel like I should be wearing roller skates to
keep up with all the work."

   "You look exhausted why doesn't she stay here for the next couple of
days.  That way you can do what you need to do, and you won't have to worry
about her."

   "Where will she stay?  Don't you only have the two bedrooms?  You
already have Marilyn staying with you."

   "Marilyn moved out about a few weeks ago, so that bedroom is open."

   "I didn't know that.  Why did she do that?"

   "We had a figh...  umm she felt she would be better off with her parents
up in Dallas."

   "You sure Jani won't be a bother?  I can pay you for her keep."

stay here a couple of days?"

   After they had gotten back into the living room, Joyce said, "What
happened with Marilyn?  I thought that she was such a nice girl.  You made
