The Pendant

Chapter One

I walked along the shore of the beach, aimlessly kicking at a beer can
someone had dropped there and wondered at how easily my life had been
turned upside down in the past 3 years. First my father dying in a car
accident, and then my mother marrying that creep Mike.

I still think Mom married him out of fear of rejecting him than any feelings
she might have felt for him. Mike was an ex-jock, having retired some
years earlier from playing professional football, and was used to getting
what he wanted. And he had wanted Mom alright. They had met at some party
and he had apparently gotten her stinking drunk and screwed her brains out.

Not that I blaimed him, Mom was really pretty and still beautiful at 34.
She had short shoulder length blonde hair and an amazing figure. Mike had
all but claimed her as his own after only a few dates and he had proposed
to her soon after, marrying her in a small ceremony out of town. The one
thing that didn't fit in his plans was me.

He didn't like the idea of raising someone else's kid and had already made
steps to starting a family, as Mom was now pregnant. The two of us just
didn't get along, but I tried to be civil with him for Mom's sake. All had
been going okay for a while, Mom got further along while I concentrated on
my schoolwork.

Another reason Mike and I disliked each other was the fact that I was your
typical over-achieving brainiac like Dad and he was a jock. He had even
tried to badger me into trying out for football of all things! Sheesh.

Then there was his drinking. To say he drank a lot was an understatement.
His favorite drink was straight whiskey and he had tons of the stuff at our
house. But the worst part of all this is I had caught him beating on my
Mom. He would get drunk and beat the crap out of her if she so much as
looked at him wrong. I had tried to help Mom once or twice and he had
turned his attentions on me and beat me silly.

After that, I was too scared to stop him and went upstairs to my room
whenever he got that drunk. I longed for some way of stopping him, but he
was four times as big as me and strong as an ox.

So here I was, walking along the beach, kicking at empty beer cans while
even now he was at home beating on my pregnant mother. I hated him with
every fiber of my being and I wished there was ...

I glanced down at the sandy beach below my feet and looked at the shiny
metal object I'd just stepped on. It was a small silver necklace with some
sort of green gem hanging from it. It looked expensive and I wondered why
someone would leave something like that lying around. There wasn't anyone
else on the beach with me so I thought 'what the heck, finders keepers' and
picked it up, slipping it into my pocket and heading back to my bike, wanting
to examine it in my 'lab' at home.

I had fixed up our attic as a sort of 'lab' where I could perform the various
experiments and private things that teenagers like to do with a certain
degree of privacy. The attic door had a lock on the inside and I could lock
myself away up there and be alone for extended periods if I wanted. Luckily,
it was air conditioned, or I wouldn't be spending so much time up there.

When I got back home, Mom was cooking dinner in the kitchen and had a black
eye! I went up to her and quietly asked her if she was okay and she nodded
her head yes and went back to cooking. I knew she didn't like admitting to
me how much pain he caused her, and was too afriad of him to deny him
anything. It was then that I realized that she didn't love him at all, she
feared and hated him and much as I did. She didn't tell me this of course,
but that silent pleading look she gave me before turning back to her cooking
told me all I needed to know.

I was going to kill the son of a bitch.

I kissed her on the cheeck and told her I loved her and went up to the attic,
eager to look at the strange necklace I had found. I went up the steps two
at a time and locked the door behind me. I walked over to the corner and
sat on the old couch while digging the item out of my back pocket.

It was a thin silver necklace with a small round emerald hanging from it.
The green gem seemed to glow slightly and was icy cold to the touch.
Intrigued, I put it around my neck and slipped it under my shirt, suddenly
feeling somehow that it was meant to be there, for some odd reason.

I messed around a little while and went back downstairs to dinner when Mom
called me. I sat down at the dinner table and was glad to see that Mike had
sobered up and was acting more civil then usual, which probably meant he was
feeling guilty for beating on Mom. Serves you right, creep, I thought to
myself while eating. There was a strained silence at the table while we ate,
and I left the table after thanking Mom for the meal and went back upstairs
to take care of my homework.

After an hour or so I had things taken care of and proceeded downstairs to
watch some television. As soon as I left the attic I could tell that
something was wrong. Something in the air, I don't know, but then I heard
the scream, my mother's scream. I ran into their bedroom and there he was,
bottle of whiskey in one hand and his leather belt in other hand, whipping
her helpless form screaming on their bed. She was naked and her bulging
stoumach showed her pregnancy clearly.

He had created a new life in her and now he was beating her?!? I was
filled with rage and hate for this evil man and threw myself at him. He
didn't hear me coming and I knocked him to the ground and wrestled the belt
away from him, but he quickly overpowered me and had me pinned to the floor.

"Stupid brat, this doesn't concern you!" He grimaced down at me, obviously
trying to frighten me. Not this time.

"DROP DEAD!!" I put all of my hate for the man into the statement and much
to my amazement, just as he was getting up off of me, right as I said it, he
fell back on the floor unconcious. Surprised and nervous, I went over to him
and felt for a pulse. I had taken a first aid class the year before and now
put it to use, feeling for signs of life. The guy was dead! He really HAD
'dropped dead' as I... but no, surely it was just a coincidence. People
don't just die on request. That was silly.

About this time Mom came to her senses and told me to call 911. I did and
soon the ambulance spirited usa away to the hospital where Mike Fontuna was
pronounced dead on arrival. The official cause was a massive heart attack.
Mom was pretty borken up about it but as soon as the doctor came over to tell
us the news he took one look at Mom and made her let him examined her. She
had a slight concussion and her eye was swollen shut.

After the police talked to us and the doctors got through with Mom we finally
got back home and we sat down on the couch and Mom finally broke down and
cried out three years of pain and loss. I held her in my arms as she cried
herself out and we both wound up falling asleep there in each other's arms
there on the couch.

The next morning I woke up before Mom did and just sat there as she lay in
my arms, sleeping peacefully, looking angelic. I stroked her silky blonde
hair and hugged her as she awoke. She smiled dreamily at me and I grinned
back at her.

"Good Morning, Mom. How are you feeling?" Her eye was looking better, I
noticed.

"Mmm, better honey. Thanks for sticking up for me last night, you were
very brave."

Mom got up and went to her bathroom to take a shower and I went to the
kitchen to fix us some breakfast. It was ready by the time she was clean
and dressed and the happy look she gave me when I called her in to eat was
well worth the little trouble it had taken to fix the meal for her.

Making her happy was very important to me. After the hell she had been
through in the last few years, she deserved some peace and happiness for
a change, and I wasn't going to let anyone else hurt her ever again either.

Not ever, I silently vowed.

Mike's sister Mary, a surprisingly nice lady, came over and she went over
the funeral arrangements with Mom. Mary was thankfully willing to take on
most of the details and left my Mom and me some space. Next on our list was
the police who came and made a report and talked to both of us seperately
and then together, getting the facts straight.

After the police left, Mike's lawyer came over and went over the sizeable
life insurance policy which we were about to recieve. It was a lot of money!
Well, the bastard had done something right at least. Mom and I would live
very comfortably with that kind of money.

After that, an almost endless stream of family members, both on our side
and Mike's side stopped by to console us, but finally that evening the visits
stopped coming and Mom and I were left to our own devices. Both exhausted,
we called out for pizza and curled up on the couch together and watched a
movie while we cuddled and just enjoyed being together.

"Tony honey, I'm so glad you're here to comfort me. I need someone to hold
me right now and I'm so glad I have you to help me get through this mess."
She hugged me and kissed me lightly on the lips, perhaps intending the kiss
to be an innocent, motherly kiss, but as soon as her soft lips touched mine,
some spark swept through us and we were suddenly kissing each other hungrily,
passionately. Her lips parted and my tongue went inside her inviting mouth
and danced feverishly with her tongue as we french kissed lovingly.

As we kissed, our clothes were ripped from our feverish bodies and we were
fondling each other, feeling all over each other's bodies. I kneeded and
pinched her hardening nipples as she stroked my hard cock to attention.
Without a word being said, she climbed up further into my lap and impaled
herself on my rock hard shaft. We both let out a soft sigh as our bodies
were joined intimately, as I returned to the womb that I came out of.

I had never thought of my mother in a sexual way before, but with one
simple act, we were suddenly lovers. And I realized that I was completely,
hopelessly in love with this wonderful, beautiful woman. She bagan rutting
up and down on top of me, setting a rythem as we slowly made love to each
other. I marvelled at her slightly swollen belly, the only evidence of her
pregnancy, and looked up into her eyes which were closed and a beautiful
expression of joy was on her face.

Soon she was bucking wildly atop me and screaming out her exstacy, as wave
after wave of pleasure hit her. Her tightly clasping vagina milking my cock
for all it was worth, finally sending me over the edge as jet after jet of
my love juices gushed into her greedy pussy. She settled down beside me
and put her head down on my shoulder and purred.

"I love you, Mom."

"I love you too, honey."

We fell asleep in each other's arms again and slept peacefully until I woke
up hearing cries and whimpers and found Mom having a bad dream. I shook her
gently until she awoke with a start.

"You were having a bad dream, Mom. C'mon, lets go up and get in bed, it'll
be alot more comfortable than the couch." I took her hand and led her up
to my bedroom and we laid down together in my large double-sized waterbed
and we cuddled together, falling asleep in each other's arms.
