And the stuff can be *very* expensive for what you get. Some companies
do very good work (Centurions was among them), but unless money is no
object to you, you are far better off making regular trips to your
local hardware store. Handcuffs can be found at magic shops, and many
adult book stores, as well as some toy departments (for example, at
K-Mart of all places).
Regular leather belts from clothing stores can be easily modified with
special clasps and fittings to take locks. A snap rivet tool from your
local Ace Hardware man can allow you to connect leather belts to make
harnesses and other custom gear. Tandy stores carry a variety of tools
and raw materials for leather crafts. And if you make it yourself
(using your mate as a model), it will fit perfectly. Something that
can rarely be said about mail-order devices!

Bondage Life magazine has a semi-regular column containing do-it-yourself
bondage projects. We've already contributed some of our own designs to
the net, we could try to transcribe a few of the projects from Bondage
Life as well.
I've not seen any book or magazine specifically devoted to home-made
bondage items, but your local library will have books on leather-work,
and give you the "how-too" knowledge to make your own items.
Perhaps your best bet is to read mail-order catalogs to get ideas, and
then when you find yourself thinking "I could make one of those easy,"
it's time to god find your "Helpful Hardware Man."
Susan and I would very much enjoy reading about home-made restraints

This is (I trust) anonymous, but I do not wish to be confused with Anonymous
of v.22. So please call me Ferret. Why Ferret? I don't know why ferret--
I really don't play very ferret all.. :-)
First, my opinion on the pictures. No doubt they are/would be interesting,
but I think we are much better off keeping this a text-only digest. No doubt
there are lots of magazines around that can do much better justice to the
photographs. By the way, I've heard that there are a lot of magazines in
England devoted to bondage, discipline, spanking, and such. I don't subscribe,
so don't ask me for any addresses.
Second, I have a book report. _Imaginative Sex_ by John Norman. It's aimed
at monogamous heterosexual married couples (such as <wife> and I). It talks
a lot about using your imagination, just as several Digest articles depict.
It contains a few dozen scenarios to get you started, with commentaries on
each. It also talks about clothing, ties (as in what you tie someone with),
and other topics of interest. It's a very good place to start for those of
us not already married to a Susan or a Richard. John Norman has also written
a series of 20-30 books about a planet called Gor where, in effect, men are
men and women are glad of it. If you're into the heroic fantasy/science
fiction genre, it's rather good reading. If you're into male/female
master/slave relationships, it's probably worthwhile to read at least the
first dozen books or so. I personally decided to stop keeping the books
around after I discovered that my "women make wonderful slaves" fantasies
started leaking into my real-world relationships. However, I do still buy
the newest book each quarter or so to see how the war with the aliens trying
to conquer Gor is progressing. Once a quarter seems an acceptable dosage
level. If any of you check out the Norman books, I'd like to hear your
