--------------------------------------------------------- CABLE OPERATORS PREFER PORNOGRAPHY --------------------------------------------------------- Dear (blank) Cable, On Thursday, January 5th I was watching channel 51. This channel carries C-SPAN 2, a channel which *broadcasts 24 hours per day.* However, in the evenings here in (my city), you choose to interrupt the C-SPAN 2 programming in order to broadcast Bravo, a channel purveying *foreign* films. On Thursday, January 5th at 5:00 p.m. I was watching C-SPAN 2. Newt Gingrich, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, third in line to succeed the President of the United States, was speaking on an issue of national importance *on the floor of the House.* Suddenly, YOU switched channel 51 to Bravo, and I found myself watching a drunken, half naked man *beating his wife.* Is this the kind of country we want our children to live in? A country where fictional film footage of a drunk beating his wife is preferred to live coverage of the United States Senate? I have little use for Bravo, a channel featuring *old* foreign films. However, I am greatly interested in the workings of my government, broadcast on C-SPAN 2. I notice that (blank) Cable has no trouble finding plenty of channels for the filth and pornography broadcast on Pay Per View. (Which I, incidentally, refer to as Pay Per Phew.) However, when it comes to broadcasting the *work* of the United States Senate, you claim you have insufficient channels available to broadcast it. May I remind you that you are not regulated by the decadent Hollywood film studios. You are also not regulated by the pedophiles, homosexuals, and adulterers who manufacture foreign films. However, you are regulated by the U.S. Senate. I suggest you show a greater respect for those who allow you the *privilege* of operating a broadcast facility. Sincerely, Andrew Roller [(blank) Cable is located at (blank address)] [(blank, the author of this letter) is (a very concerned, responsible member of our community).] 30 fuck decency 166 references the above --------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2001 by Andrew Roller.
