Title: Current Responsible Party Ch.1 Part: 1 Story Codes: M,F,f,g,b,mc,nc,humil, pedo, cuck,bd Summary: In the not so distant future the State makes sure people pay their debt. If not, your debt may be sold to another. This is the first story I've ever uploaded. Like most people I have stories in my head and at some point write them down and hopefully someone will enjoy it. If you are offended by fictional sex between adults, teens and preteens whether implied or described then this story is not for you. CRP Ch. 1 Current Responsible Party Sitting back in my chair, I stretch from hovering over the monitors all day. I can't wait to get out of the office. It's been crazy getting the quarterly taxes finished up. I take a last look and see a discrepancy in one of the smaller subsidiary businesses and decide to check it out. I read an associated memo attached to the file stating the shipment of Personal Data Implants had been lost due to a shipping accident and signed off by the CEO MrWallace. I wondered why he hadn't attached form A387 with the completed report. I shot him an email requesting the form and decided to follow up tomorrow since it was already time to head home. I sign off the discrepancy, adjusted the balance and smiled knowing all the numbers worked. I tidied my desk, put away my epad, locked my desk and headed out the door. As I enter the elevator I notice my location has just been pinged. I checked the time and decide my wife must have checked my location while planning dinner so I put it out of my mind and waited the short ride down to the parking garage. The elevator opens and I head to my personal parking space. As I approach the car I hear it engage, I pause as the door automatically opens and as soon as it's clear I step in and take my seat at the driving console. Making myself comfortable I hear Betty say; Good evening MrDavis, I've adjusted the temperature and checked traffic conditions for the trip home. Will there be any stops on the way? I say, No, just head home. Betty responds, Very well sir, here we go. As Betty pulls out of the parking space and drives out of the garage I ask Betty; play something soothing. Immediately some soft music began and sounded familiar from some old classic movie I had seen as a child. I closed my eyes mad relaxed since it would be a 25 minutes ride home. A few minutes into the ride my location is pinged again. This is strange I think to myself so I say; Display the location access log. My Corneal Implant display shows this week’s logs and the most recent being 3 days ago. That's interesting so I decide to check on Sarah at home. I say; locate my wife. Corneal display reads, Sarah Davis, Davis Home, Kitchen. I say; locate kids. Corneal display reads, Rachel Davis, Davis Home, Rachel Davis Bedroom. Nickolas Davis, Davis Home, Nickolas Davis Bedroom. I then say; Betty, call home. The phone beeps twice and I hear my wife say; Hi honey, what's up? I respond; did you just ping my location? Sarah responds; No it wasn’t me, maybe it was one of the kids. I say, Ok it might be a glitch. I'll be home in 20. She says; Ok see you then. I say; End call, then settle back into the seat and will report it tomorrow at work. 5 minutes later Betty beeps and says; Rerouted, Incoming call, unknown caller. I ask Betty; What do you mean rerouted, ignore the call. Betty says; A new destination, Department of Revenue. Override protocol. Before I can respond Betty says; Incoming call, answered. I hear a voice say; Timothy Davis. I say; Yes, who is this? The caller says; This is MrReynolds with the Department of Revenue. We are bringing you in for questioning. Your ETA here is 15 minutes so please relax. I ask; What is this about? MrReynolds says; All your questions will be answered soon. Betty says; Call complete. I ask Betty; Call my wife. Betty says; Communication locked. I say; Locate my wife. My corneal display reads, Location unavailable. Fifteen minutes later I arrive at the Government Campus. 2 officers meet me at my car before the door would open. I've been here several times over the years but each time I had come in response to audits. This time was very different and I was feeling a little shaken by it. The officers said; MrDavis please come with us and one walked on each side of me as they guide me into the building. We stepped into a private elevator and an officer pushed C. I knew the Revenue offices were on the 6th through 8th floors and had never seen a floor C but I had never been in this particular elevator before. The elevator stopped and the door opens to a huge room filled with glassed in offices on the outside walls and cubicles in the center of the room. Now I'm starting to feel a little anxious about these questions. As we walk down the right side of the room we pass several of the glass enclosed offices and I glance into each. As we pass the third office I see MrWallace the CEO of the company sitting in front of a desk while a man stands pointing to a monitor. I am relieved to see him here as well so we can get to the bottom of this. I step inside one of the offices and a man is sitting behind a desk and without looking up he says; Take a seat MrDavis. So I take a seat in the chair directly in front of the desk. After a short time the man says; I'm MrReynolds, we spoke briefly on the phone on your way in. Do you know why you've been detained? I say; No I don't but I assume it has something to do with my employer since I saw our CEO in another office down the hall. He says; Yes, we've been watching activities within your company for months since we discovered your CEO had stolen a Government shipment of Personal Data Implants and covered it up claiming damage. We found the shipment in a warehouse 3 weeks ago. We've been monitoring him and the paper trail waiting to find his accomplices. At 4:55 PM today you tipped your hand by approving the loss on the books and writing off the shipment. I quickly respond; I had nothing to do with a stolen shipment, I don't even get close to merchandise, I'm just an accountant. He says; That’s exactly who he would need to partner with to hide missing shipments. I say; But I didn't know anything about it. I found the discrepancy today and read the note attached to it which was signed by my boss. MrReynolds says; We are aware of the note and were waiting to see who acted on it without the proper forms and that turned out to be you MrDavis. I respond; But I sent him an email requesting the proper form and told him I would follow up with him tomorrow. MrReynolds says; One moment, and calls someone on the phone requesting verification of the email. I wait patiently as he talks on the phone. After a few minutes he asks me to wait and steps out of the office. I see one of the officers who escorted me here standing by the door and I am surprised how nervous I am for not being guilty of anything. After another 10 minutes MrReynolds steps back in and sits behind his desk. He turns to me and says; MrDavis I have good news, because of the email you sent your CEO you've cleared yourself of participating and trying to cover up a crime. I feel elated and happy I sent that email. He then says; Now for the bad news MrDavis. By not waiting for the proper form you committed a crime allotting to insurance fraud and defrauding the Government. How do you plead to those charges MrDavis? I shout out; Plead? I was doing my job and haven't done anything wrong. MrReynolds speaks up; Your boss has already pleaded guilty, his assets have been seized. He's going to jail for a long time. Had you not sent that email you would have been joined him. With what you've done, you can get off with paying the fines and no jail time. We are already preparing the paperwork for collecting the fines. I ask; How much are the fines? MrReynolds looks at his monitor and reads out to me; 1,150,000 credits. I say; What? I don't have that kind of money. MrReynolds says; We are fully aware of that and we are currently going over your assets. I say; How much time do I have to pay it off. MrReynolds replies; One moment, with your current available credits and personal property you still have an outstanding balance of 200,900 credits. I say; What? You're taking my property and I still owe 200,900 credits? MrReynolds says; Yes, we are currently seizing your personal property. You no longer have a job and because of these charges other companies have pulled their interest in you. Most companies have a strong policy of zero tolerance for this type of crime. The States Human Resources Department has already been alerted and is making arrangements to assist you. I scream out; What? This is ridiculous; you can't seize everything and send me to Human Resources to be reassigned. MrReynolds says; Actually we can, and because your debt is to the State, Human Resources will make sure the debt is paid. Good day MrDavis. With that he summoned the officers to escort me out. I was in shock as 2 officers escort me down a long hallway. We step into an elevator that only had an up and a down button. They pushed the up button and we start moving up. The door opens to a hall with doors on the right. As we walk down the hall I hear what sounds like crying behind some of the doors. We come to a door marked J and an officer opens the door. While one walks in the other tells me to follow and stays outside. The officer pulls a chair out from a small table and tells me to sit down. He then turns and walks out the door saying someone will be with me shortly and closes the door. I get up and check the door, yes it’s locked as I suspected. I glance around the room. I say; Locate my wife. My corneal display reads; Unknown location. I say; Message my wife, something has happened. I haven't been able to contact you. If you get this contact me, I need our lawyer. I start walking around the room and find a small bathroom with a shower, a small closet with a rod and shelf, a bunk bed on each side of the room and the small table with 4 chairs just inside the door. The far end of the room looks as though it has some type of folding doors, probably to expand the room size. There is a monitor on the far right wall and looking up I see what appears to be recessed video cameras much like the ones everywhere in the city. After a short time an attractive woman comes in the room pushing a cart. She takes out an epad and stands over me. I ask how long before I can go. She doesn't answer my question but starts reading her epad and says; My name is MsWatson; I am your assigned Counselor during your stay with us. I asked again, how long a stay is this? She replied; From 1 to 7 days. I say to her; 1 day is plenty I'm sure. She smiled at me before continuing; I have a few questions to make sure my data is correct. A yes or no answer is sufficient. Your name is Timothy Davis, age 37, brown hair, brown eyes, weight 172 lbs and height is 5'9, is that correct? I say; Yes. She asks; Your wife's name is Sarah Davis, age 36, auburn hair, green eyes, weight 128 lbs and her height is 5'5. Is that correct? I say; Yes. She asks; A daughter Rachel Davis, age 12, light brown hair, brown eyes, weight 100 lbs and height is 5'2, is that correct? I again say; Yes. She says; A son named Nickolas Davis, age 10, light brown hair, brown eyes, weight 95 lbs and height 5', is that correct? Again I say; Yes. She writes a few notes then sets the epad down on the table and walks to the cart. She pulls out a stack of gray coveralls, places 1 on the table and the rest on the shelf in the closet. She does the same with some shoesocks, those ridiculous socks and soft shoes in one, a pair of gray underwear that looked like panties, then a small zip lock bag with toiletries. She pushes one of each in front of me and says; Change into these, this will be what's worn during your stay here. I looked at her thinking, just overnight. She waits a moment then says; You may go into the bathroom and change if you would like. I grab the cloths and step into the bathroom. I change into the ridiculous coveralls and come back into the room wearing the coveralls and shoesocks complaining the underwear was old. She says; You get clean clothes daily and all clothes are rotated every year. You can look at the tags for the rotation date. She says; Now, I'll be taking your cloths and I need all jewelry other than wedding rings. I tell her I don't have anything else. She gathered up all of my cloths and said; I'll be back shortly and we will go over orientation with the rest of your group at 10 PM. With that she closed the door behind her. Another 30 minutes pass and now 9:45 PM when I finally hear the door open and an officer say; Step inside. I look up and bound out if my chair as Sarah then Rachel and Nickolas step through the door. I hug my wife first then we all hug. The officer says; Someone will be with you shortly and closes the door. I start explaining to my wife what's taken place and she can't believe it either. She tells me that an hour after we had spoken 4 men knocked on the door and escorted them here where they've been in a room down the hall till now. They had to go through a series of questions about health and personal information. She has been trying to message me for hours. The same with the kids, all of our corneal implants have been blocked. Our exchange of experiences was disturbed by the intercom; MrDavis and family, this is MsWatson your counselor. I will be with you shortly but first, if you look in the closet you will all find your coveralls, shoes and personal hygiene package. Please change into the coveralls and when finished place all your personal cloths and property, including jewelry except wedding rings on the table. MrDavis, you can help them with this. Try to hurry and I will come start the orientation in a few minutes. Sarah and Rachel looked at me, seeing how I was dressed and had the look of doom in their eyes. Rachel started crying as her mother and I handed out the coveralls, underwear and shoesocks. First Sarah changed to show the kids everything would be ok. Then Rachel and finally Nickolas changed. All the clothes and personal belongings were placed on the table. We all sat and I explained what had happened to get us into this mess and blamed my company CEO for all of it. I told them how the State Human Resources Department would help relocate us and soon we would be out of this mess but life would be different till the debt from the heavy fine was paid. I felt horrible for my kids and wife because I am the head of the family and they are my responsibility. We all held hands and waited for MsWatson to come and start orientation. At exactly 10 PM the door opened and MsWatson came in pushing a cart, saying hello and asks us all to sit down at the table. She asks if we are hungry and places a tray of assorted finger sandwiches, cut vegetables and fruit on the table. She puts out 4 bottles of water and tells us to eat. While we nibble on a few things MsWatson takes all the cloths and personal belongings and places them in the same clear plastic bag mine were in. She then turns to Rachel and says; Rachel, your earrings please. I watched as Rachel removed her small studded earrings that she had worn almost nonstop since she got them for her birthday last year. She was very upset and MsWatson told her they would be safe till everything is returned to us later. MsWatson then pulled out a box and opened it. It was full of dark gray rings, she asked Sarah and I for our wedding rings. We were reluctant to give them up but she said it was mandatory. We took them off and handed them to her and she used a ring sizer to find each of our sizes, then hands us rings of the same size saying we must wear them. They were heavy and thick and seemed like some type of iron. Mine even had a little rust on it. She then began sizing rings for both Rachel and Nickolas and they had to wear them on their ring fingers as well. She began setting up her epad and linking it to the monitor on the wall. She tells us our corneal implants are being reprogrammed and will soon be available to use. We snacked as MsWatson continued tapping away on her epad, I suddenly saw my corneal display go blank and what looked like a reboot sequence. When it was finished there was a screen that said; To begin, say, I'm ready to begin. The 4 of us looked at each other and all had the same look on our faces. I asked; MsWatson, what is this new program, why didn't it use our current data, and why start a new walk through? MsWatson says; Good it's all set and we can begin shortly without answering my question. MsWatson now explains how to finish the setup of our corneal implants. She expressed honesty and warned it must match with any known records. She says each of us needs to begin and we'll continue with orientation when finished. I say; I'm ready to begin. The screen starts a sequence of questions. Name; Timothy Davis age 37; Yes or no? Yes Date of birth; June 13 2043, Yes or no? Yes Weight; 172 Height; 5'9, Yes or no? Yes Gender; Male, Yes or no? I step over and help Nickolas since he would not understand some of the questions. About the same time I finish with Nickolas, Sarah and Rachel are sitting and waiting. Rachel looked embarrassed and I understood why. When MsWatson sees we are finished she steps to the far wall, the monitor on the right suddenly comes alive and displays a splash screen which reads; Welcome to Human Services. I jump to my feet and say; Hey, this is supposed to be Human Resources, not Human Services. MsWatson says; Please take a seat MrDavis. I remain standing and begin arguing that we're in the wrong place and started walking toward her. MsWatson again says; MrDavis please take a seat. I stood there and said we don't belong here MsWatson. She again said; Take a seat MrDavis and let's continue. Sarah bursts into tears and Rachel says, Dad what is Human Services? Nickolas just sat there wondering what was going on. MsWatson clapped her hands to get our attention and says; MrDavis take your seat. I didn't move but stepped to Sarah to console her while telling MsWatson there's been a mistake when suddenly I got a stabbing pain behind my eye like a horrible headache. I dropped to one knee and grabbed my head, the pain slowly subsided. MsWatson again said calmly; MrDavis, take your seat, we don't want to upset the children. I struggled to my feet and stumble to my chair. Sarah has tears running down her face and now even Rachel is visible shaken by what's happening. MsWatson waited a few moments for things to settle down. I hold Sarah's hand and she is holding Rachel's hand. Nickolas is sitting there with a confused look on his face. Rachel is the first one to speak and asks; Dad, what is Human Services? Before I can say anything MsWatson speaks up saying; I am best qualified to answer that question and clear up the misunderstanding Rachel. Both kids looked her way while Sarah and I looked at each other, already knowing exactly what the differences are. MsWatson started; The State Human Resources Department is in charge of employment of both corporate and government offices. All job applicants are registered through them and job offers are recorded, then the potential employee contacts the potential employers. It works perfectly and completely fair for all. State Human Resources differs from the State Human Services Department who assigns positions to those who receive offers from Businesses or People looking for services. Usually people who have not been able to find jobs and have become a burden on the State fall into this category. In Part A, This is usually a minimum paid position and both parties sign an agreement for wages and terms of their service. Your family falls under Part B. Part B is for people who are in debt to the State. The State sets the acceptable length and terms of service to best recover the debt. The State Human Services Department is basically a placement service to assure the burden is placed on those owing the debt and not the Government or its citizens. This is why we no longer have homeless or poverty and everyone prospers. The room fell silent; Rachel and Nickolas taking it in, not fully understanding the impact this will have on our lives. MsWatson asks; Any questions before we move on with orientation? I spoke up; What is the length and terms? MsWatson answers; The fact that there is a fairly high debt the length can be quite long however because there are 4 of you that cuts it way back. Each family unit member gets the same rate of 25,000 Credits per year. So for the 4 of you that brings the length to, she does some math then says; Time is in months and partial months are always upped to a full month. That brings it to 25 months or 2 years and 1 month. I gasped and said; Do you mean we have to work for 25 months to pay off the remaining debt? MsWatson says; Yes, but you have to consider you will have a place to live plus all food and medical services are included. After the debt is paid and time served you'll be reassessed for Human Resources first and if nothing is found you have Human Services Part A available to you. I was feeling lower than ever, Sarah was still crying and Rachel was consoling her. I asked; Will I be able to pay the debt down by working a second job MsWatson? She replied; No MrDavis, those in service to another are not permitted to earn or accrue money in any way. If found with money or goods not assigned to you it will be assumed stolen. I highly recommend if any money is found you leave it there and alert your CRP of its location. MsWatson wanted to continue with the orientation. She said watch the monitor and it will explain the 7 day Part B process. She said this presentation is designed for families because families may want to consider different options than a single individual. This presentation will describe some of the options available to you. I will return in 15 minutes and answer any questions you have. I know we are rushing this and keeping you up late but everything starts tomorrow morning. MsWatson then stepped out the door, leaving us alone in the room waiting for the video to start. We see the monitor screen change and begin reading along with the narrator. Welcome to Human Services. We are here to assist you in becoming productive and back on the road to full citizenship. Your counselor is your friend and here to answer questions regarding the many decisions you'll be making during your 1 to 7 day stay. Each day is another opportunity to settle your debt and prove to yourself and others you want to be part of making our Country debt free. The Mall opens at 9AM each day and closes at 9PM. Breakfast is at 7AM each morning giving you plenty of time to get ready for the day. Remember to keep your room clean, a clean room makes your family look organized and efficient. To continue say; Continue. Or say; Start over. We all stared at each other wondering what they were talking about. Rachel with a quizzical look on her face says; Continue! The State Human Services Department wants families to stay together. We encourage you to use any means necessary to insure your family unit remains intact. Ask your counselor for advice as their experience is useful in helping families succeed in being placed together. Now we will explain your Corneal Implants new programming. Your corneal display should be ready to use now. All your choices may be updated by saying, Change my settings. You will notice that you can query information on family members. Additionally you can query information on others in service, their CRP name and CRP information is available but not their location. You can query only names of those above your station with the exception of your CRP. Your CRP's location and their information are available to you at all times. This is needed for paging purposes. You'll become familiar with these features over time. Unfortunately, all of your previous data is no longer available. You will only be able to communicate with your CRP and those they assign. The information available to citizens about you include, your CRP, your CRP name, gender, age, physical attributes, sexual orientation and current assignment. These are provided by your CRP and may not be edited by you. Again, communication can only be received and are automatically acknowledged using your corneal implants. For questions regarding your Corneal Implants contact your Counselor. To continue say; Continue or say; Start over. This time we are silent. I say; Contact our counselor. Nothing from my corneal implant is available. We are all taking mental notes and now Rachel is becoming upset. Rachel asks us; What about all my friends, can I still talk to them? I respond; I'm not sure sweetheart but we'll get more information from MsWatson. Sarah moves her chair between Rachel and Nickolas and puts her arm around them. Sarah and I know what's going on because we have heard about this for many years. We have never opted in on any list to receive information about buying debt. We didn't think we would ever have use for that information because we never had that kind of income and we could never see ourselves buying service personnel. Now something I never thought could happen is happening and what's worse is it involves the entire family. Because of me being the Responsible Party and the one who was fined caused this to happen. Had it been my wife, and I couldn't pay the fine she would be here by herself. I wait for a few minutes before continuing the presentation. Nickolas seems to be taking it all in stride which is good for now. After a few minute with bathroom breaks I finally say; Continue. This segment pertains to the Mall and each day’s activities. Remember, you decide how each day best works for your family. Each of the 7 days has a plan that is preset by the Human Services Department to best recover the debt. The Mall is open between 9AM and 9PM 7 days a week. Each of the 3 floors contains 20 viewing rooms. Each room displays which of the 7 days its inhabitants are on, 1-7 respectively. The first 5 days you make all your choices providing they fall within the parameters of each days prearranged schedule. At times the intercom may announce Citizens with high qualifications, or volume debt purchasers. At which time, service candidates must enter and remain in their specified containment area until further notice. Your counselor will point out your individual area at the start of Day 1. Those viewing and considering buying your debt are welcome and encouraged to leave feedback which may be beneficial in your decision making. At any time you may view assessment and recommendation information on your monitor. Now we will explain how each of your 7 days is scheduled. Day 1: This is your first day. An assessment has been made of each relative who has the resources available to purchase your debt. They have been contacted and may view your family and decide if they will help. Family is always a good choice and always preferred. The Mall will be available to family for the remainder of your stay. Since the Mall is open to anyone with the means of purchasing the smallest debt currently offered by Human Services, you may have others viewing your family at any given time. Use Day 1 to fine tune your presentation by means of the feedback and reviews available on your enclosures display screen. Day 2: On the second day your friends who have the resources available have been contacted. They may visit the Mall and decide if they can help. Friends are usually the second best choice for placement. Day 3: Business associates and colleagues have been notified. They may be able to assist by having openings within their offices or homes. Often they are able to use your specific skill set making your family a valuable asset. Day 4: Your family has been able to accumulate valuable review information daily. Making the most of the reviews can expedite your debt being purchased. Your counselor will begin to make recommendations to help you. Listen to your counselor because they have the experience and truly want to help you and your family. Day 5: By now you've become familiar with the flow of shoppers at the Mall. Some may have shown interest so now is a good time to put your best foot forward. Often debt shoppers wait to see if you have made an Offer in Compromise, added additional implants or made changes to your bio. Talk with your counselor about all your options. Day 6: This is the day that your availability has been announced to neighboring Cities and States. Previously that choice has been yours but if your family is available on Day 6 this is automatically offered. The State debt recovery has become a priority and your counselor will place certain demands designed to encourage buyers. This is the last day for some choices and keeping your family intact may no longer be guaranteed past Day 6. Day 7: This is your final day with Human Services. Foreign debt buyers are now welcome to purchase your debt and the length of service and terms has been lifted. Buyers may at their discretion break up your family. Often this happens if only part of your family is needed. All offers are considered and your counselor along with representatives from the Department of Revenue will decide which offer to accept. If your debt is purchased from a foreign investor, your citizenship is revoked and seldom does any family or individual return. There are times when more than 1 purchaser buys your debt on Day 7. They may pool money's and either own your family jointly or divide your family up depending on each individuals investment. The specifics of those deals are beyond the scope of this presentation. This concludes the Human Services Department Part B presentation. Your counselor will return soon to answer questions and prepare you. She has additional information pertaining to each day’s requirements. After the presentation ended we all held each other. We felt so crushed and wondered how this could happen to us. We had always done the right thing and been upstanding citizens. How could one simple mistake of trusting my boss cause our entire life to change from one of productive happy lives to what equates to slavery. We cried hoping we could find someone to help us retain an ounce of dignity. It was 10 minutes before MsWatson entered the room. We watched as she gathered the snack tray and returning it to the cart. She finally spoke; I hope the presentation has answered many of your questions and you understand the procedures. She continued, I know this can be overwhelming but I assure you we try to make it as stress free as possible. Tomorrow morning at 7AM the lights will come on and a wake alarm will sound. You must get up immediately and make the beds as tidy as they are now. At 7:15AM an associate will deliver your breakfast, towels and fresh clothing. Eat quickly and use the restroom to shower. Sarah and Rachel, you will find hair bands in your toiletry bag. Your hair will be placed in a ponytail. This is the easiest to maintain and leaves an unobstructed view of your faces. Makeup is available upon request to make you more appealing. I will be here at precisely 8:45AM to get you started on your day. Do you all understand? We were still consoling each other and listening to her but none of us responded. MsWatson again asked; Davis family, do you understand, yes or no! I spoke up saying; Yes MsWatson. She looked at everyone else and said; Do the rest of you understand, yes or no? Everyone at the same time said; Yes MsWatson. She then asked; Any questions? I spoke up asking; What would an acceptable offer in compromise be MsWatson? She replied; It's different for everyone or family MrDavis. You being an accountant you are familiar with Offers in Compromise. The State will try to get the entire debt and all you have to bargain with is time MrDavis. You must come up with something a buyer will find attractive enough to pay your debt. You can offer extra time so your family will be a more attractive deal. In my experience over the last 9 years working here, most offers that have been accepted have been between a 6 and 18 month extension. Additionally, at least 80% of individuals or families by the 5th day choose the double down option. Doubling the time will often keep families like yours from being separated or worse, for instance, taken out of the Country. It's all up to you MrDavis. I was aghast and said; Do you mean it's not uncommon for families to double their time? That would be over 4 years MsWatson! She responded with; True MrDavis, and there are other options as well. Often debt buyers come through daily to check out the new debt. They keep track of everyone here and they may wait till day 4 or 5 before deciding on any debt to see what the debtor may offer, or they wait to see if they double down. MrDavis, nobody stays past 7 days. There are buyers standing by to pick up anyone and especially families by closing on day 7. The offers are a means for you to help choose who you go with. Believe me when I say, going with anyone in the city, even if it's a relative or just someone you knew before is better than waiting till day 7. Feeling pretty let down I answer; True MsWatson, thank you. With that she said; You need to get to bed now, its 11PM and all the lights shut off at midnight automatically. If you want them off sooner just push the button on the wall. However, once turned off they will remain off till 7AM so be careful about when you turn the light off. With that MsWatson slipped out the door. We continued staying close to one another till we brushed our teeth and found our assigned bunks. I know this saga is slow moving but I am more into books than short stories. Ch. 2 is Day 1 As always, emails are welcome.
