   Final chapter.

   Logan sat in the waiting room crying quietly waiting for his parents to
get to the hospital after he had told the police what happened.  "Mom Dad"
Logan said weeping as his parents walked over to where he was sitting in
the waiting room and hugged him.  "Oh honey thank god you're okay" his
mother said kissing him all over his head as tears formed in her eyes. 
"Excuse me nurse is my son okay" Ethan's father said stopping one of the
nurses that came out of the trauma room Ethan was in.  "The doctor will be
out to see you shortly" the nurse said before continuing on her way. 
Ethan's father paced up and down in the waiting room as his mother held
Logan who was still weeping uncontrollably.  "Shh, Shhh it'll be okay"
Logan's mother whispered to him as she held him in her arms gently rocking
him and kissing his head.  His father came over and sat down next to them
and gently stroked Logan's head as they tried to console him.  A few hours
later the doctor came out of the room and Logan's father got up and walked
over to find out his son's prognosis.  "Mr.  Asher I'm Dr.  McDowell head
of neurology" the doctor said to Ethan's father with a very serious look on
his face.

   "Is my son okay" Ethan father asked the doctor impatiently as his heart
raced.  "His heart stopped for a few minutes but we managed to restart it"
the doctor said to Ethan's father.  "Oh my god" Ethan father said as he
felt as if his heart leaped into his throat.  "Ethan has a broken arm and
several broken ribs and a fractured collar bone" the doctor continued.  But
from the way the doctor was looking at him Ethan's father could tell that
it was a lot worse than the doctor was letting on.  "Doctor please tell me
if my son is okay" Ethan father said softly as his heart raced.  "Your son
sustained a very severe skull fracture" the doctor said with a very grave
look.  "Oh god" Ethan father said holding his head.  "Ethan is in a coma
and there is a lot of swelling around his brain.  we don't think he's going
to make it through the night" the doctor said after a long pause trying to
be as sympathetic as he could.

   The color drained right out of Ethan's father's face and his hands
started to tremble as he heard the doctor say those words, then a look of
anger illuminated his face.  "You get in there and you save him god damn
it, You save him" Ethan's father said grabbing the doctor by his collar as
tears welled up in his eyes.  "We're doing all that we can to save him Mr.
Asher but I think you need to prepare you family for the worst" Dr McDowell
said putting his hand on Ethan's father's trying to console him.  "We're
moving him to the I.C.U the nurse will take you up when you're ready" the
doctor said after a few minutes had passed before walking away.  "Julia"
Ethan father said calling to his wife as he tried to hold back the tears
and be strong for his family.  "I'll be right back okay sweetie" Logan's
mother whispered to him stroking his cheek as he was now sniffling.  "David
what did the doctor say, is Ethan alright?" Ethan's mother said looking
into her husband's eyes hoping that everything was okay.  "They......... 
They......They don't think he's going to make it through the night" Ethan's
father said to her trying to get the words out as tears filled up in his
eyes.

   "NO NO NOOoooooooo" Ethan's mother whispered softly as she broke down in
tears holding on to her husband as she felt her legs failing as she gasped
for air.  "Julia we have to be strong for Logan" Ethan's father said to his
wife trying to get her to pull herself together as Logan walked up to them.
"Dad is Ethan okay?" Logan asked with tears in his eyes as he walked over
to where his parents were standing.  "Mr.  Asher I'm here to take you
upstairs" A nurse dressed in blue scrubs said standing at the entrance to
the waiting room.  "Ethan's fine honey" Logan's mother said wiping her eyes
and trying to smile as she fought back her tears not wanting to upset him
any further than he already was.  "Let's go and see him okay" Logan's
father said trying to smile.  Logan knew something was terribly wrong and
his parents were just putting on a show not to make him frightened.

   They followed the nurse to the elevator and went up to the intensive
care unit, when the elevator got to the I.C.U the nurse showed them to the
room Ethan was in.  His parents looked through the small glass window in
the door and saw the doctor writing something on his chart.  Doctor
McDowell saw them at the door and walked away from Ethan's bed and came to
the door exiting the room and closing the door behind him.  "I think you
two better go in alone at first" the doctor said to Ethan's parents softly
as he glanced at Logan.  "Okay" Ethan's father replied to the doctor before
he left to see his other patients.  "Sit right here okay honey we're just
going to see your brother" Logan's mother said as she led him to some
chairs outside Ethan's room.  "But I want to see him too" Logan protested.
"You can go in and see him in a little while okay" his mother said drying
his eyes.  Logan sat on the chair and watched as his parents slowly entered
the room and closed the door behind them.

   "Oh my baby, my precious boy" Ethan's mother said as her tears started
flowing freely as she walked over to his bed.  She leaned over and kissed
him gently on his forehead as her tears dripped down onto his bandages. 
"Oh son why did this have to happen to you" Ethan's father said as he took
his hand in his and kissed it.  They stayed stroked Ethan's hand and his
bruised cheeks crying as they looked at the nearly lifeless body of their
son.  "Honey I don't think Logan should see him like this" Ethan's father
said stroking his son's hand hoping that he knew that he was there.  "I
don't think that his last memory of his brother should be to see him like
this" Ethan's father said unable to hold back his grief anymore.  "He is
not going to die, I will not lose another child" Ethan's mother said as her
sadness turned into anger.  "You are not going to die do you understand me,
you fight this" Ethan mother said talking to him hoping that he could hear
her as tears rolled down her cheeks.  "Ethan" Logan said quietly as he came
into the room and saw his brother hooked up to all sorts of machines as
tears filled up in his eyes again.

   "Ethan I'm sorry" Logan weeped as he fell to the ground sobbing
uncontrollably.  "David take him out of here" Logan's mother said as tears
ran down her cheeks.  "Noooooooo" Logan wailed as his father lifted him up
into his arms and carried him out of the room.  "It's okay, it's okay shhh"
Logan's father whispered to him as he held him in his arms trying to calm
him down.  "It's going to be okay, everything is going to be alright" his
father said kissing him on the top of his head as he hugged him tightly. 
After a few minutes of Logan's father rocking him in his arms he calmed
down a little and put his head on his father's chest.  "Dad is Ethan gonna
die?" Logan asked sniffling as he looked up at his father.  "No he's not"
his father said thinking about what the doctor said and hoping that what he
Just said to Logan was true as he held him close to him.

   "It's my fault, if I didn't get mad at him and was paying attention to
the road and....." Logan said as he broke down crying again.  "Don't say
that, it's not your fault" Logan's father said as he kissed the top of his
head.  "Yes it is, just like it's my fault Alice is dead" Logan weeped. 
"If mom hadn't been making me pancakes she'd be alive" Logan cried unable
to control his emotions.  "Logan Alice dying wasn't your fault and neither
is this; you can't blame yourself for everything bad that happens" his
father said hugging him trying to console him.  Logan looked at his mother
when she came out the room as she wiped her eyes and smiled at him a
little. "Do you want to see your brother again honey?" she asked as she
came over to where he was sitting on his father's lap and gently stroked
his head.  Logan nodded his head yes and climbed off of his father's lap
and took his mother's hand as they walked back to Ethan's room.  "It's okay
honey don't be afraid" Logan mother reassured him as she led him over to
Ethan's bed.

   "Julia" Logan's father called to his mother from the door as Dr. 
McDowell wanted to talk to them both.  "I'll be right out here okay honey"
Logan's mother said to him before she left.  Logan looked at his brother
lying in the hospital bed an started crying again as the person he saw
looked nothing like the brother that he had grown to love deeply over the
last few months.  "Ethan I'm so sorry, it's all my fault" Logan sobbed as
he took his brother's hand in his and looked at his face badly bruised
face. He stayed with Ethan for about twenty minutes before he got up to
leave as he couldn't stand looking at his brother like that knowing that he
was responsible.  Logan leaned over and kissed Ethan tenderly on his
bruised cheek and once on his forehead as he sobbed before leaving the
room.

   "Oh Honey" his mother said as he came out the room and broke down crying
again as he leaned against the door and slid down to the floor sobbing
uncontrollably.  His mother came over to him and helped him up and led him
back to the chair as her husband was still taking to the doctor.  After he
finished talking to doctor McDowell Logan dad came back over to him and
picked him up in his arms and sat down with him in his lap rocking him
gently.  Logan put his face against his chest and cried as his father
hugged him.  His mother gently stroked his hair kissing him on his head
before she returned to Ethan room to sit with him.  "Ethan I don't know if
you can hear me but you have to fight this" his mother said holding his
hand as tears ran down her face.  "Your brother and your father and me
we're all here and we believe in you" she continued sniffling.  "Please,
please don't leave us" his mother said kissing his hand as she sobbed.  she
stayed there all night holding Ethan's hand as the doctors constantly
monitored his status for any change and adjusted his medication.

   Ethan's parents were relieved when he made it through the night but he
was by no means out of danger.  The doctor came back in with two nurses and
checked Ethan's vital signs and gave the nurses some instructions.  "where
are you taking him?" Ethan parents asked worried.  "We need to get another
head C.T and an E.E.G" doctor McDowell replied as the nurses wheeled out
Ethan on his bed.  "Well how is he?" Ethan mother asked the doctor as they
brought Ethan back to his room a couple of hours later.  "The medication we
gave him has reduced the swelling significantly but he's still in a coma"
Dr McDowell said to Ethan's parents.  "When will he wake up?" Ethan's
father asked eagerly.  "The head C.T And the E.E.G looks okay but we still
need to perform an apnea test before we know anything more" the doctor said
to them with a worried look on his face.  "what is that test for?" Ethan
mother asked after glancing briefly at Logan curled up sleeping under his
father's jacket across several of the chairs.

   "To check for brain death.  We disconnect Ethan from the respirator for
a few minutes to see if he is breathing on his own" the doctor said to them
before going into Ethan's room to perform the test.  "He made it through
the night and now he might be a vegetable" Ethan mother said in despair as
she held on to her husband as tears filled up in her eyes.  "It's okay
honey he'll make it, he'll make it" Ethan father said as he kissed his wife
and stroked her head.  The doctor came back out and walked over to Ethan
parents after giving some instruction to the nurse.  "Well is he breathing
on his own?" Ethan's father asked as his mother looked at the doctor hoping
for some positive news.  "Yes he's breathing on his own" the doctor said
with a little smile giving Ethan's parents the first good news they had in
the twenty four hours.  "Oh thank god" Ethan's mother said relieved.  "He's
not out of the woods yet, we still have to perform a few more test" Dr
McDowell said to them reminding them of the severity of Ethan's condition.
"They both of you should take your other son home and get some rest; we'll
call if there any change" Dr McDowell said noticing there state.  "Thank
you doctor for everything you've done" Ethan's father said shaking the
doctor's hand.  "Don't thank me your son is a fighter" Dr McDowell said
giving them a glimmer of hope before walking off.

   "Honey why don't you take Logan home I'll stay" Ethan's mother said
noticing Logan had woken up.  "I don't want to leave you here all alone"
Ethan's father answered stroking his mother's cheek.  "I'll be fine just
take care of Logan" his mother replied kissing her husband on his lips. 
"Come on Logan let's go" his father said walking over to Logan.  "Where are
we going?" Logan asked fearing that something had happened to Ethan when he
was asleep.  "I'm taking you home" Logan's dad replied stroking his hair.
"What about Ethan Is he okay?" Logan asked.  "Ethan's okay baby" Logan's
mother said stroking the back of his head.  "But I don't want to leave"
Logan protested.  "Everything will be okay just go with your father okay"
Logan mother said to him doing everything in her power to keep him from
worrying.  Logan looked at his mother as the elevator doors closed holding
his dad's hand as she smiled a little and waved to him.  When they got home
Logan slowly walked up the steps to go to his room to change out of his
basketball uniform from the game he never got to play in.  "Go change and
I'll make you something to eat and we'll go back to the hospital in a
while" Logan's dad said to him as he slowly climbed the stairs.

   As he pulled off his shirt he started crying again as he remembered the
last words he said to his brother before the accident.  He fell to the
floor leaning against his bed sobbing uncontrollably.  "Logan are you
ready" his father asked from outside his door.  "Oh baby it'll be okay" his
father said as he walked into his room and sat on the ground next to him
and brushed his hair out of his eyes.  "I didn't mean it" Logan wailed
looking up at his father.  "Mean what?" his father asked softly petting his
face.  "I.....I was angry at Ethan and I said I hated him and I wished he
was dead and now..." Logan said as he weeped uncontrollably.  "Shhhh it's
okay, we all say things we don't mean when we're angry but you didn't cause
this" Logan's dad said pulling him close to him and hugging him.

   "Come on I made you a sandwich" Logan's father said kissing the top of
his head after he managed to calm him down after a few minutes.  "I'm not
hungry" Logan said softly trying not to cry again.  "I'll go wrap it up and
we'll take it with us if you get hungry later" Logan's father said when he
let go of him and wiped the tears from his eyes.  "Get dressed and we'll go
back and meet your mother okay" his father said as he got up off the ground
and went back down to the kitchen to wrap up the sandwiches he had made. 
David felt tears running down his face as he wrapped up the sandwiches
wondering what he had done to deserve all the bad things that had happened
to his family over the last few months.  His brother dead and he had lost
his daughter just a few weeks ago and now he might very well lose his son;
he wasn't sure how much more of this he could take.  "Dad" Logan said
softly when he came back downstairs and found his father sitting at the
table with tears in his eyes.  "Okay let's go" his father said quickly
wiping his eyes and giving him a little smile.  They packed up the
sandwiches they made and left the house on what was the worst Sunday of
their lives.

   "How is he?" Ethan's father asked when he came back in the room and
found his wife still sitting at their son's bed holding his hand.  "No
change, the doctor said it's too soon to tell" Ethan mother said looking up
at her husband.  "Where's Logan?" Ethan's mother asked brushing back her
hair behind her ear.  "I told him to wait outside, he finally calmed down a
little and I didn't want him getting upset again" Ethan's father said
sitting down next to his wife and kissing her on her cheek.  "Logan thinks
it's his fault that this happened" Ethan father said gently stroking
Ethan's cheek.  "He and Ethan had a fight and he said some bad things to
him and now he thinks that's the reason that this happened" Ethan's father
said to his mother.  "I can't imagine what he must be feeling" Ethan's
mother said softly.

   "I just hope he can stop blaming himself for this" Ethan father replied.
"I'll go talk to him" Ethan's mother said.  "I'll be back in a second baby"
Ethan's mother said kissing his hand hoping he could feel her touch.  She
kissed her husband and walked out of the room and closed the door softly.
Julia and smiled at Logan who was sitting on a chair out side with his legs
drawn up with his chin resting on his knees.  "Logan look at me" his mother
said as she sat on the chair next to him.  "This is not your fault I don't
want you thinking that for another second" Logan's mother said to him as he
broke down and started crying again.  "In the past you both said things to
each other you didn't mean and this is no different" his mother said gently
stroking his head.  "I'll never get a chance to tell him I'm sorry" Logan
weeped as he turned to face his mother.  "You can tell him you're sorry
right now" Logan's mother said to him wiping his tears from his eyes.

   "Come on" Logan's mother said to him as she stood up and held out her
hand to him.  Logan put his feet back on the ground and took his mother's
hand and she led him into his brother's room.  "It's okay Logan" his dad
said with a little smile as he walked over to Ethan's bed slowly.  "Ethan
I'm sorry I said I hated you and wished you were dead" Logan said softly as
tears ran down his cheeks.  "I don't know if you can hear me but please
don't die" Logan weeped putting his head on the bed next to Ethan as he
cried.  "Come here" Logan's mother said to him with tears in her eyes
stretching out her arms to him as he went to her and she hugged him as he
cried.  The weeks that followed were even worst for Logan as the guilt of
having caused his brother's accident overwhelmed him.

   Logan felt like it was the worst summer of his life he spent ever day in
his room detached for his parents and the few friends he had.  He cried
himself to sleep ever night hoping that when he woke up the next day that
it had all been a terrible nightmare and Ethan would be there standing over
his bed.  Logan missed Ethan terribly for the fourth of July holiday; he
looked out his window and saw his neighbors from across the street in their
yard setting of fireworks.  He remembered that he and Ethan used to do that
every year ever since he could remember, that was the one time they seemed
to get along with each other.  Logan looked at the two boy across the
street who were the same age as him and his big brother who was the same
age as Ethan as they set off their fireworks.  He started crying when he
saw how happy they were together and remembered all the time he spent
fighting with Ethan and how pointless it all seemed now willing to give
anything to have his brother back.  Logan would go to Ethan room everyday
and sit and look at him expecting him to open his eyes and say something to
him but he never did.  He started visiting Ethan less and less until he
stopped going completely, It was just to painful for Logan to see his
brother like that feeling responsible for his accident.

   As July ended Logan's mother got some news that made him really angry.
His mother had found out that she was going to have another baby and Logan
felt like his parents were trying to replace Ethan when he wasn't even
dead. Ethan's parents never gave up hope that he would wake up from his
comatose state, his mother took time away from work and sat in his room
every day for three weeks hoping that he would wake up.  His father tried
to bury himself in his work hoping that it would kill the grief and the
pain that he felt of never being able to have a conversation with him. 
Logan would go into Ethan's room everyday and take one of his shirts from
his closet and cuddle up with it on Ethan's bed.  He would hold it close to
his nose and try to remember what his brother smelt like.  As august drew
to an end and the new school term began Logan really missed Ethan taking
him to school every morning.  In the afternoon he would go out side half
expecting to see Ethan's sitting in his car outside waiting outside to pick
him up.  Sometimes he would go into the garage and sit in Ethan's car and
cry wondering if he would ever drive it again.  He stated sleeping in
Ethan's bed every night wishing that some miracle would happen and when he
woke up his brother would be there lying next to him.

   It was the last week in November the day before thanksgiving when
Ethan's mother went into his hospital room to sit with him for a while.  It
was almost five months now that Ethan had been in a coma all his injuries
had healed and he looked as if he was just sleeping.  His mother sat by his
bed and looked at him as he lay motionless as if was in a deep sleep.  A
lot of people had told her the longer Ethan was in a coma the less likely
it was that he would wake up but she refused to give up hope.  She took
Ethan's hand in hers and gently stroked it remembering how little he was
when he was born.  "I'll never give up on you" Ethan's mother said kissing
his hand as tears filled up in her eyes.  She felt Ethan's hand squeeze
hers but she didn't pay it any attention since the doctor told her that it
was just a reflex action when he did it before.  "I love you my precious
boy" she said as she put her head on Ethan's chest and cried softly.  "I
love you too" Ethan whispered in a raspy voice.

   His mother continued crying as she thought that she was only imagining
hearing Ethan's voice as she had done so many times before.  "Please don't
cry mom" Ethan said sounding more like himself.  His mother lifted her head
slowly and looked into his face and stared crying tears of joy as she saw
his beautiful blue eyes for the first time in months.  She put her hands
over her mouth and started crying harder as the moment she had been
dreaming of for the last few months final happened.  Ethan tried to sit up
on the bed a little as his mother moved over to the bed and sat next to him
and helped him up.  She hugged him tightly and cried with joy as she was
beginning to think that she might never hear his voice again.  "Where's
dad?" Ethan asked as his mother broke their embrace so she could look at
him again.  "He's at home with your brother" his mother replied with a huge
smile on her tear stained face as she stroked Ethan's cheek.  "He'll be so
happy to see you" his mother said hugging him again still in a state of
shock.

   Ethan's father dropped the phone after he finished talking to his wife
and fell to his knees crying.  "Dad what's the matter is it Ethan?" Logan
asked with a worried look fearing that the worst had happened.  "Dad what's
wrong?" Logan asked again as he went over to where his father was in the
kitchen and stood in front of him as tears started to full up in his eyes
fearing that Ethan was dead.  "Your brother is awake" his father whispered
looking up at him with tears in his eyes.  Logan gasped as his father stood
up and hugged him tightly as he started crying.  "Your brother is awake"
his father said again laughing as tears ran down his face.  "Get your
jacket lets go" Logan's father said to him as he grabbed his keys from the
kitchen counter and headed for the door.  Logan and his father were at the
hospital twenty minutes later as his father raced over not even caring if
he got pulled over for speeding.  When Logan and his father got up to the
floor the coma ward was on he saw his mother standing outside the door
looking through the glass window in the door smiling.  It had been months
since Logan had seen his mother so happy.  "Julia where is he?" Ethan's
father asked walking up to his wife and hugging her.  "The doctors are
checking him over" Ethan's mother replied looking through the glass in the
door at Ethan sitting on the bed as the doctors were assessing him.  David
started crying tears of joy as he saw Ethan smiling at him through the
doctor as the doctor listened to his heart.

   "How is he Ethan's father asked Dr McDowell as he came out of the room
with a smile.  "He's fine, perfectly fine" Dr McDowell said smiling still a
little shocked at Ethan miraculous recovery.  "We still want to run a few
more tests before we release him" the doctor said adjusting his
stethoscope. "I'll leave you alone and come back in a few hours to check on
him" the doctor said before he walked away.  Ethan's father could barely
contain his happiness as he went into the room and sat on the bed and
hugged Ethan tightly.  His father held him tightly and cried as he had
started to lose hope of this day ever happening as the doctors told them
that the possibility of that happening was extremely low.  Logan stood by
the door as tears ran down his face, he almost couldn't believe that Ethan
was awake.  "Hey Logan" Ethan said as he released his father and saw his
brother standing at the door with tears running down his face.

   "It's okay Logan come here" his father said smiling at him with tears in
his eyes.  Logan walked over to Ethan's bed slowly and stood looking at
Ethan as he hadn't seen him in four months his hair was a little longer but
it was definitely his brother.  Unable to contain his emotions anymore he
jumped up on the bed and hugged Ethan tightly and kissed him all over his
face as he cried tears of happiness.  Their parents laughed as they too
were still crying overjoyed to have Ethan back.  Logan put his head on
Ethan shoulder and cried as he inhaled the scent of his brother remembering
what he smelt like.  "I'm sorry I stopped visiting you" Logan cried as he
let go of Ethan and looked into his eyes.  "Don't worry about that" Ethan
said with a smile as he too had tears in his eyes as he hugged Logan. 
Their parents came over to the bed and they all hugged Ethan not ever
wanting to let him go.  They spent the next few hours just being near Ethan
and Logan climbed into bed with him as they told Ethan all that happened
while he was in a coma and that he was going to have a little brother or
sister.

   The doctor came back a couple of hours later to take Ethan to get an
E.E.G and a C.T scan to make sure he was really okay.  When they brought
him back to his room Ethan's parents and his brother hugged him again
knowing how incredibly lucky they were to have him back.  That afternoon
they didn't want to leave Ethan but the doctor told them to let him get
some rest after a very long and emotional day.  Logan begged the doctor and
his parents to stay the night with Ethan but he was denied his request. 
Ethan parents hugged him goodbye and told him they'd spend thanksgiving day
with him tomorrow, Logan hugged Ethan one last time his father had to pull
him away from Ethan as didn't want to let him go.

   They all waved goodbye to him from the door before his father before
they left with with his father pulling Logan along with him as he tried to
make up all sorts of excuses to stay.  That night Ethan lay in his bed
unable to sleep thinking of his family and how lucky he was to be alive. 
He never thought he would see them again after the car had hit him when he
saved his brother's life which had shocked him.  He never thought that he
would jump in front a speeding car to save anyone's life much less Logan's
As Ethan lay there thinking of that terrible day he realized for the first
time how much he really loved his brother and not because they had sex with
each other.  "How did you sleep last night?" Dr McDowell asked with a smile
as he came into Ethan's room to make his morning rounds.  "I didn't, I
already slept for four months I think that's more than enough for the rest
of the year" Ethan said smiling.  "I suppose you're right but you still
need to rest" the doctor said chuckling.  "Any headaches or dizziness" the
doctor asked as he shined a light in Ethan's eyes checking his pupils.

   "Only when you try to blind me with that light" Ethan replied as his wit
was as sharp as ever.  "sorry" the doctor said as he turned off the
flashlight he was shining in Ethan's eyes.  "Hmp" the doctor said looking
at Ethan after he finished writing something on his chart.  "what?" Ethan
asked a little worried by the doctor's expression.  "You know you're the
first patient I haven't lost" the doctor said with a little smile. 
"Um.......That's comforting, sort of" Ethan said as he raised his eyebrows.
"Relax I'm just kidding, you're not the only one who can make jokes you
know" the doctor said putting his pen back in his pocket.  "Your mom and
dad and your brother should be here in a while" the doctor said smiling as
he closed his chart.  "I never thought I would be having this conversation
with you, your recovery is remarkable, and I dare say even miraculous"
doctor McDowell said smiling at Ethan.  "You've been given a second chance
Ethan I hope you make the best of it" Dr McDowell said patting Ethan's hand
before leaving the room.  Ethan got up to use the bathroom after the doctor
left still working on getting his balance back, he was a little unsteady on
his feet after lying in a bed for four months.  "Hey guys Ethan said with a
smile as he came back in the room and saw his parents and his brother who
had just gotten there looking a bit worried when they didn't find him in
his room.  Ethan hugged his parents and then his brother before they sat
down on the bed together and talked some more about all he had missed
during his four month slumber.

   Ethan really enjoyed spending a very special thanksgiving with his
family as they all had a lot to be thankful for.  That night Ethan lay in
his new bed on the recovery ward thinking of all the time he had wasted in
the past as he always thought spending time with his family was stupid.  He
made a promise to himself then and there to never take his family for
granted again and cherish every moment he had with them.  Ethan spent the
next two days in the hospital undergoing more test as the doctors wanted to
keep him under observation for any problems.  All Ethan wanted to do was to
go home and be with his family, he begged the doctor to let him go home on
the third day he was there under observation the doctor finally gave him a
clean bill of health.  Dr McDowell gave in and he allowed Ethan to go home
the following afternoon after he made him promise not to overdo it.

   "I brought you some clothes" Ethan's father said with a smile as when he
came to take him home.  "Where's mom and Logan" Ethan asked pulling on his
shirt.  "They're at home waiting for you" His father answered with a smile
as he packed up Ethan's stuff.  "Here put this on it's a little cold out
there" Ethan's father said to him as he handed him a jacket he brought with
him.  Ethan got dressed in record time and left the hospital with his
father after he signed his discharge forms hoping he wouldn't be back there
anytime soon.  He smiled when they got to the parking area and saw his dad
had come to pick him up in his beloved Mustang.  "You feel up to driving?"
Ethan's father asked smiling as he deactivated the alarm.  "Nah, the doctor
said I should take it easy" Ethan replied with a smile.

   "Can we stop by the cemetery on the way home?" Ethan asked as he got in
and put on his seat belt.  "what for?" his father asked with a puzzled
look. "There is something I have to do" Ethan replied as his father pulled
out of where the were parked.  They drove for a while until they came to
the cemetery, Ethan unbuckled his seat belt and got out remembering the
last time he was there for his sister's funeral.  "Dad can you show me
where Paul is buried?" Ethan asked turning to his father.  "Sure" his
father replied as he got out of the car and walked over to Ethan.  His
father put his arm around his shoulder and led him over to where his best
friend was buried.

   "Hey Paul, it's Ethan I'm really sorry I wasn't at your funeral but I
didn't have much choice in the matter" Ethan said managing a little smile
pulling his open jacket closer together as it was a little cold.  Ethan
tried to hold back his tears as he still felt in someway responsible for
what happened to Paul, even though he had been dead for months it still
felt like yesterday to Ethan.  "I'm so sorry I didn't answer your call"
Ethan said as he broke down crying.  "I'm so sorry" Ethan weeped as his
father came over and hugged him.  "Ethan you can't blame yourself for the
decision that Paul made" his father said as Ethan put his head on his chest
and cried.  "I might have been able to stop him dad if I had only answered
my phone" Ethan said sniffling.

   "He still might have done it even if you did answer the phone" his
father said to him as they broke their embrace.  Ethan thought his father
did have a point because once Paul made up his mind about something there
was no stopping him, but there was still the what if possibility in his
mind.  "Listen, Paul was your friend and I'm sure he wouldn't want you
blaming yourself for his death" Ethan's father said looking into his eyes
as he wiped away his tears.  "Come on lets go your mom must be wondering
what's taking us so long" Ethan father said as he led him back to the car.
As they walked back to the car Ethan looked back at the grave of his friend
one last time before he got in the car.  His father smiled at him and
started the engine and they drove away.

   "Dad I never told you and mom how sorry I was that Alice died" Ethan
said looking at his father.  "That's okay son" his father replied glancing
at him with a smile and patting his knee.  "It's just that I didn't feel
sad, I don't know what I felt" Ethan said glancing at his father.  "Do you
think that makes me a bad person?" Ethan asked looking at his father for a
response.  "I don't think a bad person would have risked his life to save
his brother's or visit his friend's grave to pay his respects" his father
replied glancing at him and smiling.  "You may be a little rough around the
edges but you're a good boy Ethan" his dad said smiling as they stopped at
a red light.  "Thanks dad I really needed to hear that from you" Ethan said
smiling at his father.  Ethan's dad pulled him closer to him and kissed him
on his head as he always did except this time Ethan didn't mind.  "I never
thought I'd miss mom's cooking" Ethan said with a smirk as the light turned
green and his father drove off.  "You'd better not let her hear you say
that or she'll put you back in the hospital" Ethan's father joked as they
both laughed.

   When they pulled up at the house and Ethan smiled thinking of how happy
he was to be home again.  "WELCOME HOME ETHAN" a couple of people who Ethan
had never seen before as well as a few others he knew as he opened the
front door.  After thanking everyone for welcoming him home Ethan talked
with a few people who were his neighbors before he spotted Vincent who had
grown out his black hair which was down to his shoulders now.  "Good to
have you back man" Vincent said hugging Ethan and patting him on the back.
"Thanks man" Ethan said as they broke their embrace.  "Is Eric here?" Ethan
asked knowing that Eric and Vincent seldom went anywhere without each
other. "We won't be seeing Eric for a while" Vincent said with a smirk. 
"why's that?" Ethan inquired.

   "The party he had, you know the one where he and Kelly....Um" Vincent
said not knowing if Ethan was still upset about it.  "Don't sweat it man I
already put that behind me" Ethan said as he saw how uneasy Vincent got
talking about it.  "Well the cops busted up the party and Eric's dad sent
him to military school" Vincent said laughing.  "And as for Kelly she took
off with some college guy and no one has seen her since" Vincent said
chuckling.  "Wow that's too bad" Ethan said trying his best not to laugh at
his former friend and his ex-girlfriend's misfortunes.  "That's not the
worst part" Vincent said chuckling.  "Oh yeah" Ethan said smiling.  "She
gave Eric gonorrhea" Vincent whispered to Ethan snickering.  "That's.....
Uh......  unfortunate " Ethan said trying his best not to laugh but he just
couldn't hold it back as he thought of how lucky he was that he didn't fuck
her.

   Ethan and Vincent talked for a little while before he spotted Pete, if
his parents knew what he and Pete had been doing they probably would have
strangled them both.  "You look good man" Pete said smiling at Ethan as he
raised his shades that he always wore.  "So you ready to get back in the
game" Pete asked softly hugging Ethan and carrying him off to a corner of
the room.  "Nah man I'm out for good" Ethan said deciding to clean up his
life.  "You're not mad are you" Ethan asked studying Pete's expression. 
"Nah, you were always a good kid don't fuck up your life like I did" Pete
said with a smile.  "I'm gonna go look for my brother I haven't seen him
all afternoon" Ethan said to Pete before he slipped out of the living room
and went upstairs to look for Logan.

   "What are you doing up here all alone" Ethan asked as he went into
Logan's room and found him lying on his bed.  "I don't want to be around
all those people I don't even know half of them" Logan said sulking. 
"Neither do I" Ethan replied as he sat down next to Logan.  "why don't you
come down and keep me company" Ethan said smiling.  Logan was a bit
surprised by the change in his brother's attitude toward him, Ethan had
never been this nice to him before.  "Okay but only because you asked"
Logan said sitting up on his bed.  "It's really nice to have you back
Ethan" Logan said smiling at Ethan.  "I didn't think you'd ever be able to
suck my dick again" Logan said with a flirtatious smile.  "You're still the
same little perv I remember" Ethan said chuckling as he hugged his little
brother.  "Come on lets go back down before they miss us" Ethan said as he
led Logan out of his room.

   After everyone had left that afternoon and Ethan had finished having
dinner he had a shower and went to his room.  He climbed into the bed he
hadn't slept for in four months and lay there looking up at the ceiling
thinking that he never thought he would see this room again.  Ethan heard
the door open softly and smiled when he saw Logan standing at the door way.
"I was wondering when you were gonna come in here" Ethan said smiling. 
Logan smiled and closed the door; he came over to Ethan bed and climbed in
with him and hugged him tightly putting his head on Ethan's chest.  "Hey
what's the matter why are you crying" Ethan asked as he heard Logan
sniffling.  "I'm just really happy you're home" Logan said as he lifted his
head and looked into Ethan's face.  "I'm happy to be home too" Ethan said
smiling as he dried his brother's tears.  "I'm so sorry I wasn't looking
where I was going and I'm sorry I said I hated you and wished you were dead
"Logan said as he started sobbing.

   "And I'm sorry for yelling at you" Ethan said as his eyes started to
tear up too.  "Lets promise we won't ever be mean to each other again"
Ethan said wiping his eyes.  "Okay" Logan replied still sniffling.  Logan
moved up to Ethan's face and kissed him on his lips and hugged him tightly
never wanting to let him go.  Ethan hugged his brother back and they
cuddled up in each other arms looking into each other's eyes enjoying each
other's company for the first time without it being sexual.  They Laid
quietly in each other's arm for a while happy to be able to be together
again.  "Ethan can I ask you a question?" Logan said softly.  "You just did
but sure go ahead" Ethan replied smiling.  "Do you remember what happened
after you were hit by that car?" Logan asked softly looking into Ethan's
eyes.  "A little" Ethan replied petting Logan's blond hair moving it from
his eyes.  "what were you trying to tell me?" Logan asked reaching out and
playing with Ethan's hair which was almost as long as his now.  "I don't
remember" Ethan replied which wasn't exactly true.  "I'm sorry but I don't"
Ethan said softly as he pulled himself up on the bed a little.  "That's
okay" Logan replied as he moved up on the bed and put his head on his
brother's naked chest.

   Ethan listened to Logan's breathing and knew he had fallen asleep, Ethan
gently pushed Logan off of him back on to the pillow and moved down on the
bed a little so he could see Logan's face as he slept.  He looked at his
brother and wondered why he had been so mean to him in the past and had not
realized how special he was.  Even though he had finally realized how much
Logan meant to him he still had trouble putting his feelings into words. 
Ethan didn't remember a lot about the day of his accident, he didn't even
remember the car hitting him.  But he did remember seeing Logan over him
crying and remembered that he was trying to tell him how much he loved him
before he passed out.  "Oh I just came to see how you we're doing" their
mom said with a smile as she held the door open and peered inside.  "You
know he's been sleeping in here ever since your accident" Ethan's mother
whispered to him not wanting to wake Logan as she saw him sleeping
peacefully cuddled up next to Ethan.  "I'll take him to his room so you can
get some sleep" his mother said as she came into the room.  "It's okay let
him sleep" Ethan whispered wanting to sleep next to his brother and be
close to him.  "Are you sure?" his mother asked a bit surprised.  "Yeah
it's cool" Ethan said softly.  "well get some rest" his mother said before
leaned over and kissed him on his forehead and then kissed Logan who moaned
and stirred slightly and moved closer to Ethan.  "I love you mom" Ethan
said to his mother as she walked out the room.  "I love you too" his mother
replied with a smile before she turned off the light and gently closed the
door.  Ethan pulled the comforter over himself and Logan and kissed his
brother gently on his slightly parted lips and put his arms around him and
watched him sleep.

   Ethan smiled when he the sun gently illuminated his room and he saw
Logan's face as he slept peacefully beside him with his arm around him. 
Ethan quietly slipped out of bed not wanting to disturb Logan from his
slumber and went to the bathroom to relieve his aching bladder.  He went
downstairs and found his parents sitting at he table having coffee.  "Well
you're certainly up early, I didn't expect you to be up until twelve"
Ethan's mother said smiling at him as he came into the kitchen.  "I had a
very good night, there nothing like sleeping in your own bed" Ethan replied
smiling as he sat down which wasn't true sine he spent the night watching
Logan sleep.

   "where's Logan?" his father inquired putting down his cup of coffee. 
"Still asleep I didn't want to wake him" Ethan replied before a big yawn.
Ethan's parents smiled at his new found appreciation for his brother. 
"Honey what time is the appointment at the doctor" Ethan's father asked his
mother.  "Nine o'clock" she replied.  "Are you sick mom?" Ethan asked
concerned.  "Oh no sweetie, I have to go get an ultrasound and some other
tests to see how the baby is doing" his mother replied stroking his face.
"Do you mind if I tag along?" Ethan asked.  "Not at all" his mom replied a
little surprised that he wanted to since both he and Logan had refused the
last time she asked them if the wanted to go with her.

   "I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready" Ethan said as he got up from
the table and left the kitchen.  "Not that I'm complaining but he really
seems different, in a good way" Ethan's father said as he smiled at his
wife.  "I agree he told me he loved me last night" Ethan's mother said
smiling since she had never heard Ethan say those word to her since he was
about six.  "I hope its permanent" his father replied as he sipped his
coffee.  Ethan went into the bathroom and took off his boxer and climbed
into the shower and got under the water and started soaping his skin.  He
jumped when he felt someone's hands Logan's hands come around his around
his waist, Ethan smiled to himself knowing they were Logan's.  "What are
you doing" Ethan asked pulling his head from under the shower.  "Taking a
bath with my brother" Logan replied in a very sexy tone as he started
planting a row of soft kisses on Ethan's back.  Ethan turned around and his
raging hard-on poked Logan in the stomach making them both laugh.

   "Let's go back to bed" Logan said hugging Ethan rubbing his cheek on his
wet chest.  "I can't I'm going to the doctor with mom" Ethan replied
sniffing his brother's hair which smelt like heaven.  "Are you okay?" Logan
asked looking up at Ethan with a worried look on his face.  "I'm fine, mom
has to have a few tests done to see how the baby is doing" Ethan replied
gently stroking Logan's always perfect blond hair.  "Can I come?" Logan
asked looking up at Ethan.  "I don't see why not" Ethan replied with a
smile as he stroked Logan's hair.  Logan smiled at Ethan started kissing
Ethan's stomach moving down until he got to his dick Ethan had almost
forgot how much used to turn him on, but was quickly being reminded as
Logan started sucking on his foreskin gently tugging on it with his lips.
Logan stood back up and smiled slyly at Ethan as he put his arms around him
and looked into his eyes lovingly.  Ethan pushed Logan against the wall in

softly. "Boys hurry up your breakfast is getting cold" their mother yelled
from down stairs.

   "No don't stop!" Logan pleaded as Ethan stopped kissing him and put his
head against his stomach.  "Mom is gonna wonder where we are" Ethan
whispered as he moved back up to Logan's lips and kissed them passionately.
They finished there shower together and left the bathroom smiling at each
other as they retreated to their separate rooms to get dressed.  "can I use
your brush I can't seem to find mine" Logan said as he came into Ethan's
room dressed in a long sleeved blue t-shirt with orange stripes down the
sleeves and around the neck and a long Khaki pants.  Ethan stopped brushing
his hair and admired his brother from head to toe looking as stunning as he
always did.  "You look great" Logan said smiling at Ethan dressed in a
light blue long sleeved shirt with the cuffs unbuttoned and a dark blue
pants.  "So do you" Ethan commented with a smile as Logan came over an
stood in front of him.

   "Thanks" Logan said as he stood in front of Ethan by the mirror and
smiled as he saw the grin on Ethan's face from his reflection.  Logan ran
the brush through his hair a couple of times not that he needed to anyway
and gave the brush back to Ethan.  "I really need a haircut" Ethan said as
he brushed his hair which was almost touching the back of his neck like
Logan's.  "Don't cut it, I like it like that" Logan said smiling as he
watched the reflection of Ethan brushing his hair in the mirror.  "Okay"
Ethan replied with a little smile.  He had never cared for having long hair
but since Logan liked it he decide to keep it at that length for a while.
"Boys what taking you two so long" their mother called from downstairs. 
"We'll be right down mom" Logan yelled back.  They left Ethan's room and
went downstairs and had a wonderful breakfast of ham and eggs and toast
that their mom made.  After a delicious breakfast they went upstairs to
brush their teeth while their parents went to get ready.

   Ethan and Logan had a hard time keeping their hands off of each other on
the drive over to the doctor's office.  Ethan and Logan stroked each
other's legs in the back seat every chance they got when there parents
weren't looking.  when they got to the building the doctor's office was in
Logan and Ethan went ahead with their mother while their dad parked the
car. "Oh Julia you're early that's good my eight thirty rescheduled so I
can see you right away" a woman dressed in a white lab coat with short
brown hair said smiling as Ethan and Logan and their mother walked up the
hall to the waiting room.  "Hi Logan, my you're getting big" the doctor
said smiling down at Logan.  "And Ethan so good to see that you're okay"
the doctor said smiling and touching Ethan's face.  "Thanks doctor Jones"
Ethan replied smiling.  "You can go ahead and get ready Julia I'll be there
in a minute" doctor Jones said to Ethan and Logan's mother before walking
over to the desk to talk to her secretary.  "Who's she, how does she know
who we are" Logan whispered to Ethan looking at the woman over at the desk
as she glanced at him and smiled.

   "She delivered the both of us" Ethan said as he had met her a couple of
times before when his mother was pregnant with Logan.  "Hey boys where's
your mother?" their father said as he walked up to them.  "She went into
the doctor's office" Ethan answered looking up at his father.  "You boys
wait here and when we're ready we'll call you" their father said to them
with a smile.  "Okay dad" Ethan replied smiling at his father as he walked
away.  They watched him as he went over to where doctor Jones was, they
greeted each other briefly and then walked to her office and went in and
closed the door.  Ethan and Logan sat quietly for a few minutes looking at
all the different baby charts and pictures of pregnant women all over the
office.  "Boys" their father called out to them from the doctor's office
motioning them to come in.  They got up from where they were sitting and
went over to their father and went in and closed the door.  "Are you boys
ready to see your little brother or sister" doctor Jones asked with a
smile. Ethan and Logan just smiled as the doctor pulled on her gloves that
the nurse who was assisting her gave to her.

   "Okay Julia just relax breathe normally" doctor Jones said as she
squeezed out some gel from a tube and rubbed in onto Julia's stomach and
moved the transducer over her tummy.  Ethan and Logan looked at the monitor
attentively as the doctor noted the size of the baby head limbs among other
things.  "You're about seventeen week along right" the doctor said to their
mom.  "Yes" their mother replied with a smile.  "Have you had any cramps?"
doctor Jones asked glancing at Julia briefly.  "Uh no" their mom replied.
"Can you tell if it's a boy or a girl" Ethan asked the doctor as they were
all looking at the monitor.  "well the ultrasound is not a hundred percent
accurate but lets see" the doctor said moving the transducer over their
mother's tummy.  "Oh I'm sorry we can't see from the position the baby is
in" doctor Jones said studying the image on the monitor.  "It sort of looks
like a frog" Logan said with a giggle.  "Yeah it kinda does" Ethan said
with a smirk.

   "Boys that your brother or your sister be nice" their mother said as she
couldn't help but laugh.  "Okay everything looks good" doctor Jones said
with a smile as she pulled off her gloves and turned off the monitor. 
"Doctor Jones I have Mrs.  Asher's test results" another nurse said as she
came in the room and gave the doctor an envelop.  "Well you have a
perfectly healthy baby" the doctor said going over the results of the
amniocentesis that Julia had three weeks ago.  "well do you still want to
know if it's a boy or a girl?" the doctor asked smiling.  "Yes, say yes
mom" Logan said excitedly.  "Okay sure" Julia mom said smiling as she saw
how excited Ethan and Logan were to know, and she was as eager to find out
as well.  "Tell us" David said holding his wife's hand and smiling at her.
"well it looks like you're having a boy" doctor Jones said smiling at them.
"Yes alright" Logan said loudly expressing his joy.

   "I need to take some blood to check you hormone levels" doctor Jones
said taking up the need from tray the nurse had brought to her.  "You boys
wait outside we'll be out in a minute" Ethan and Logan's father said as the
doctor had a few more tests to do.  Ethan grabbed Logan's hand an dragged
him out of the room as there father and mother laughed at Logan's
expression as he saw the size of the needle that the doctor picked up. 
Their parents came out a little while later and said good bye to the doctor
before walking over to them.  They got back downstairs to the car and got
in and headed back home, their father glanced at Ethan and Logan in the
rearview mirror and then at his wife who had a smile on her face after the
good news they had just received.  Ethan dad thought to himself that he had
never taken his family on a vacation.  He had always wanted to but was
always too busy, as he looked at his family he thought of how luck he was
to have them and decided that this was the best time to take a trip
together.

   "Hey guys what do you say to two weeks in the Bahamas" David said to his
family.  "David are you serious?" Julia asked pleasantly surprised at her
husband's suggestion.  "Yeah, I've always wanted to take you guys on a
vacation but was too busy to" David replied.  "Not anymore from now on my
family comes first" David said smiling at his wife.  "So what do you guys
think?" David dad asked smiling at his sons as he glanced at them in the
rearview mirror.  "That a great idea dad" Ethan said.  "Yeah I guess" Logan
said with a little smile as he wasn't too thrilled about the idea.  Ethan
father got out his cell phone and dialed a number and waited for someone to
answer.

   "Margaret It's David I need you to book four tickets to the Bahamas for
me as soon as possible" Ethan father said to the person on the phone. 
"Okay call me back in twenty minutes" David said as he ended the call. 
"Honey what about your job" their mother asked looking at their father. 
"Yeah dad" Logan chimed in trying to find some excuse not to have to go
"They can live without me for two weeks and in case you guys forgot my
name's on the building" David replied with a smile.  "And what about
School?" Logan asked.  "The term is almost over" his father replied
smiling. "Yeah I've already missed most of it what's two more weeks" Ethan
said smiling.

   when they got home around eleven they were walking up the driveway to
the house when Ethan dad got a call on his cell phone.  "well you boys
better pack your sunscreen" Ethan father said chuckling after he ended his
call.  "what time are we leaving?" Julia asked her husband eagerly as she
had always wanted to go to the Caribbean.  "Tomorrow at three our flight is
at six" David replied kissing his wife.  Logan went up to his room sulking
when they got into the house which surprised his parents as they thought he
would have loved to go.  "I don't think Logan wants to go" Julia said
noticing Logan's attitude .  "Don't worry I'll talk to him" Ethan said as
he left his parents and went upstairs to talk to his brother.  "You know
I'm really liking this new Ethan" Julia said to her husband as they sat
down and cuddled up next to each other on the couch.  "Me too" David
replied before kissing his wife.

   "Hey why the long face?" Ethan asked with a smile as he came into
Logan's room and closed the door behind him.  Logan just shrugged his
shoulders as Ethan came over and sat next to him on the bed.  "Don't you
want to go see a new country have some fun in the sun" Ethan asked with a
smile.  "Yeah I do but........" Logan said sighing deeply.  "But...."Ethan
said waiting for Logan to finish what he was saying.  "There won't be any
time for us to be together when we have to share a room with mom and dad"
Logan said sadly.  "Well if it's us you're worried about we have plenty of
time now" Ethan said with a sly grin.  Logan didn't need to hear anymore he
jumped on Ethan and kissed him hard on his lips as Ethan hugged him pulling
him on top of his body as he lay back on the bed.  "Uhhhhh" Logan moaned
softly as Ethan kissed his neck and slid his hands under his shirt
massaging his body.  "Oh I want you Ethan" Logan whispered softly panting
heavily as his brother's lips and his breath covered his neck.  Just as
they were really getting into each other they heard the doorknob turning
and Logan quickly jumped off of Ethan and sat back down on the bed as Ethan
sat up and they both acted normal.

   "Oh Ethan you're still in here" their dad said as he came in and sat
next to them.  "You know if you don't want to go we can always go another
time" their father said to Logan.  "No it's great dad I just wasn't feeling
to well before that's all" Logan said smiling at his father.  "Are you
okay?" their dad asked putting his hand on Logan's head and stroking his
hair.  "Yeah I'm fine dad" Logan replied smiling.  "You boys had better
start packing" their dad said smiling as he left and closed the door. 
Logan leaned his head against Ethan chest disappointed as this was the
second time for the day they were denied each other.  "we better not try
anything again, that was too close" Logan said sitting up and looking at
