 What is a "Cuckold"?

   The definition in most dictionaries would suggest that virtually every
man whose story (along with his wife or girlfriend) appears on this web
site qualifies for that label.  "A man whose wife is unfaithful," "A
married man with an adulterous wife." "In current usage it ...  also often
refers to (the male part of) non-married couples in committed relationships
where she has other sex partners."

   The Portuguese version of the word literally means "tame horned," and is
applied to those men who, although cheated on by their female partners,
come to accept it as a fact of their lives.

   In some cultures a man is considered a Cuckold if his gal is dominant
and she takes on additional partners, while the male takes on a submissive
role (where he may be monogamous to her, or only becomes involved sexually
with her [or they] when it is felt to be emotionally supportive of her and
her lover).

   More often than not the label Cuckold comes with negative overtones...
suggesting that the man involved is less than a "real" man...  suggesting
that he is a wimp.  While this may be true in some cases, the truth is that
a great many men choose to be cuckolded by their wives...  choose to
let/encourage their wives or girlfriends enjoy additional sexual playmates.
I firmly believe that such men should NOT be given a negative label for
their thoughtfulness.

   I find it interesting that there is no label with similar negative
overtones that applies to women whose husbands/boyfriends have sex with
other women...  with or without the primary woman's
permission/encouragement.

   While common (uninitiated) usage in the world at large may still use
Cuckold to describe a husband as submissive, powerless and/or in need of
humiliation to receive stimulation...  it is clear that many men who refer
to themselves as being a Cuckold are experiencing something altogether
different than traditional cuckoldry.  These are men who are not simply
acceding to the infidelity and desires of an "errant wife." These are men
who happily allow/encourage their wife or girlfriend to broaden their
sexual horizons.

   The stories in this portion of my web site are about men who wear the
Cuckold label...  but do so proudly.  I applaud them.  I do not applaud the
men who really are wimps and let their women belittle or abuse them.

   It is the philosophy of this web site to champion men and women who
recognize the benefits of allowing and encouraging their partners to
develop and enjoy their sexuality to the fullest...  and that usually means
letting their partner experience additional sexual partners.

   It is to that kind of Cuckold that this portion of my web site is
dedicated.
