These are independent stories using characters from the same universe at different times in the past and present.  Danny and Ethan was written first but if you wish to read them in a more chronological order, please read the Bastian & Zachary prequel story then Danny & Ethan.  However reading them the other way around will not make it confusing, only reading this disclaimer will :).
