Note: This story was dynamically reformatted for online reading convenience. This is a work of fiction. It is my fantasies on paper. I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I enjoyed writing them. Feedback is always welcome at cdducks2000@yahoo.com Intro to the Series: Beth was special. She was diagnosed at an early age with a developmental disability. Her parents had taken her to special schools and had special workers come in every day to help with her development. She was now 19 years old and had the mental capacity of an infant. She had no real short term memory and had to be talked through most activities. She liked art; coloring and painting and if the music was playing she liked to dance. She had grown up next to the Turner's. Fred and Ida lived next door and Beth knew them very well. Beth's father worked and her mother worked Mondays. She told Ida it wasn't about the money; it was about getting a break. She loved her daughter, but the day away allowed her to recharge. Ida would always babysit Beth on Mondays. That is until recently. Ida had died young, leaving Fred alone in the house. Beth's mom was going to quit her job, but Fred talked her out of it saying he would continue to babysit Beth on Mondays. At 47, Fred had retired early due to a back injury or so he said, the talk around town was he was milking the system. He had insisted that it really was no trouble at all and with Ida gone, it would just be too much to not have Beth over for her weekly visit. Beth's mom had relented and said they would try it, but if it was any trouble for Fred, she would quit.
