Kitty returned to her room with her left hand rubbing the left side of
her jaw.  Jenny was sitting on her bed in just her underwear, a white bra

and panties, playing a handheld game, she looked over to Kitty and asks...

   "What happened to you?"

   "Runa hit me." Replies Kitty walking to her bed and sitting on it.

   "Really?  Why?" asks Jenny quickly sitting up.

   "It's nothing that concerns you."

   "Are you sure?  `cause I passed that test I had today that I was
studying for and I don't need any new stress right now."

   "Yes I'm sure Nuu." Replies Kitty Smiling.  "There's no stress coming
your way."

   "Good then, good luck with yours." States Jenny returning her back to
the bed and playing her game.

   After a few moments while Kitty thought about what happened between her
and Runa earlier, Jenny stated, while she played her game, "Hey, did you
did you hear?  Two boys where found in one of the empty basement rooms
yesterday.  They had to go to the medical lab, they were beaten up by
someone, really, really badly, I hear one even had his tail cut off.  I
wonder who would be so cruel to do that."

   `She could've...' thought Kitty, before asking, "Did you hear what their
names where?"

   "Um, one of `em, Rick I think, that's the one who's tail was cut off I
think."

   `Runa...' thought Kitty sadly, before getting back to her feet.  "Nuu,
I'll be back." States Kitty before heading to the door.

   "Ok."

   Kitty left her room and returned to Runa's, knocking on the door.  It
took about two more rounds of knocking before the door opened, once Runa
saw that it was Kitty, she immediately looked angered and started to close
the door, But Kitty still had her shoes one so she quickly placed her right
foot in the door before pushing it open and walking into Runa's room, who
quickly tried pushing Kitty out.  Kitty though now expected resistance from
her and instead pushed Runa to the floor as she walked into her room and
closed the door.

   "Is it true Runa?  That rumor about those two boys?" asks Kitty.

   Kitty saw Runa looking up at her anger in her cat-eyes, considering
Kitty never saw Runa angry, the look of anger on her face did kinda scare
her, but she wanted to know why Runa was so angry.

   "Runa please." States Kitty getting to her knees in front of Runa.  "I
wanna help, this sudden anger has to be coming from somewhere."

   "You wouldn't understand." Replies Runa getting to her feet.  "Just
leave, NOW!"

   "No." replies Kitty standing, "We're going to talk about this whether
you want to or not."

   "No we're not!" replies Runa before attempting another punch to Kitty's
head, who quickly dodged it to her right and grasping Runa's wrist, who
used her other hand to try to hit Kitty, but she dodged that one as well
and grasped her wrist.  Runa's arms now formed and `X' as Kitty held her
hands.

   "Yes we are!"

   "You wouldn't understand!" replies Runa as her anger started to fade and
sadness take hold.

   "Try me." Suggests Kitty releasing Runa's hands.

   "... Fine..." replies Runa before walking to her bed and sitting on it.
"Before I came here, I was abused as a child and raped by my father, who
thought of me as a freak of nature, My mom did nothing to stop him.  They
only fed me enough to keep me alive and I was never allowed outside.  One
day, I found out that a law had passed that allowed us Hybrids equal rights
to humans, but my day didn't care, he continued to abuse me and even threw
me off the second floor banister of our home.  After that... I..."

   "You killed them didn't you?" asks Kitty.

   Runa looked up at Kitty with surprise.

   "How did you..."

   Kitty smiled sadly and walked to Runa and sat beside her.

   "Runa, you think you're the only one who was abused before coming here?"

   "I-I... never thought about it..." comments Runa looking to the floor.

   "Runa, half, if not, more of the students here were abused before coming
here.  Compared to my life before here, I envy what you had."

   "What!?"

   Kitty then stood and turned her back to Runa before lifting her shirt,
causing Runa to gasp in shock, Kitty had an ugly, deep scar on her back
that went from her right shoulder, two inches wide, down at an angle
towards her left and slowly shrinking in width with its length.  It had
healed, but not very well and even with the advances in technology,
couldn't get rid of it.

   "Heh, from that comment, I assume you don't have anything like this
huh?" comments Kitty before releasing her shirt and sitting back down.

   "Wha... H-How..." asks Runa unsure of what to say.

   "Runa, I'd really not want to explain my past, there's too many horrible
things there."

   "B-But, if your life was worse than mine, how can you be so happy all
the time."

   "Runa, you can ether let your past drag you down or do your best to
ignore it and move on.  I've chosen to move on, My life is heaven now, I
have plenty of friends, great food, freedom to leave the building anytime I
want, a comfortable bed, and so much else.  Why shouldn't I be happy all
the time?"

   Runa simply smiled.

   "So let the past go." States Kitty placing her right hand to Runa's left
shoulder.

   "How?"

   "Well, I did it by having a good hard cry, afterwards, I felt so much
better."

   "I... never did that..." states Runa.

   Kitty then moved her right hand around to Runa's right shoulder and
pulled her close and against her chest and wrapped her left arm around
Runa.

   "Then do it now."

   Runa immediately felt a warmness that even her teacher never gave from
him embracing her, maybe it was the knowledge that Kitty's life was also
filled with hardship before coming to this place, but almost immediately,
Runa burst into tears crying harder than she ever have in Kitty's, her
friend's, hold.
